Nokia 6230i - user opinions and reviews

hi,
I have bought 6230i around 1 month ago.
This one had been made in Hungary. It does not have any problem with mp3 player except the difficult handling of tracklist, it couldn't be changed to the prefered tracks! the loudspeaker is great and without any problem. the camera is very good (as good as an average quality digital camera) and the video recording is better than 6230, 6600 and 7610 as I experienced.
i have some little problems with this phone, video player sometimes hangs and phone restart! this is not depend to the length of video file.
my phone could not play some certain sort of WAVE format files!
the ringtone ascending sound was not such a terrible problem to me.
but the most irritating problem is the application installation, coz most (almost 100% of them!) of symbian compatable applications could not be installed on this phone.
although, I think that's a great phone!
I would be thankful if anybody could help me about applications problem.

i can't here anything when connect headphone with my nokia 6230i. when i test the headphone with my friend's 6230 it's working properly. It is true that the new version of 6230i cannot support headphone?

Sounds like your speaker is broke then because mine works fine with mp3's and poly tones. Send it back for repair!

hye, i think there was a problem about 6230i's speaker. don't u think it's too too too loud? now i only use level 1 for my speaker volume,coz when i turn to higher level like 3 or 4 or 5, it's produced "broken" sound or something sound like bzzzzzzzzzzz in the background..ahhh im very2 disappointed!

This phone can take 1GB MMC Card, but I recommend not to exceed 512GB, or else the speed and functions of the phone slows down.

sorry it takes up to 1hour video recording.the original 6230 take 4mins, but the new and improved 6230i takes up to an hour

hey it takes up to 4mins of video recording but if you can get it flashed from a nokia service centre it can do more.it already has a dictionary with a variaty of languages on it.any questions email me with the adress provided. thank you

seriously it does take up to 2gb cards found it out at another mobile review site!!!if you dont believe me go 2 www.mobile-review.com and look around that!!!oops sory bout caps!

Hey everybody, just found out that it takes up to 2gb sd cards. cool!!! excellent phone 1.3mpxl camera,mp3 player, bluetooth and infared, video/video player.great design just amazing.

Just wondering this phone is good, Why does nokia made it with Symbian OS? Whats the difference? For all expert ppl out there pls. share your info...Tnx

The ascending volume in ringing tone is not a problem to me. In fact I like it coz it starts off low (in an office - that's recommendable) then starts to shout.
A shortcut over menu... is by pressing the numbers of the menu, for example, if you want to open up Music Player, then press 'Menu', Press 6, then press 3... in quick succession. (I know you can also use Voice to activate menu... haven't tried that yet).
If other users know any other way, pls share.

hi... can smb tell me if the menu of the phone slows down ? can you manage a quick moovment along the menu ? and is the video and picture qualiti good ?

I think all the 6230i have this ringing and message tone. It work like ascending from soft to loud but if you choose a short tone then problem of hearing. I set a longer tone so that is ascending to loud for both ringing and message tone.
I tried and set to loud many times and still the same ascending. I gave up and just get a longer tone to overcome it. Previously, I used 6230 and it doesn't have this problem at all.

Great phone.. and very fast compared to other phones.. great camera and sound quality and loaded with features (eg EDGE, PTT, MP3) and 512mb MMC works as fast as less memory cards.. but there is a problem with ringtone volume and wallpapers as all wallpapers are 128x128.. the phone clearity is amazing.. New games are difficult to find.. but overall one of the best phone nokia has produced..
