@francis: you have 2 options: either upload a white picture and set it as background or the second one is to set any picture as a background and then rename/move/delete that picture from your gallery. This second way, the phone will try unsucessfully to find set the background, it won't find the file and automatically set a white background as your wallpaper.
hallo... can the background color be set to pure white? bcuz i dont like the pattern.. makes the screen looks bad.. thank you..
Thanks a million for your help. I really appreciate it. One thing is that I have PC Suite version 6.4.8, but still I have to buy the DKU-2 cable isn't it to transfer the files???
It is just a GREAT phone. I loved it from the very beginning and it made me turn again to NOKIA after being a Sony Ericsson lover for a long long long time! Very nice menu and ease-of-use as most Nokias, excellent screen that showed even sharper photos that I had taken with my old SE Z600 and a great camera of 1.3 Megapixels. Not to say about the audio player and the radio, along with the very nice Bluetooth and etc etc etc.
The only "negative" is that if you use it a lot, the battery won't last longer than 2 to 3 days... but this is why they invented the charger ;)
Hi im thinking of getting a 6230i. Just wanted to know first from the users of this phone what they believe are the pro's and con's of this phone.
can sum1 tell me if de sms lags.. n is there any more problems wif de fone now?!
you can transfer mp3 files (the fastest way) by getting yourself a Memory Card Reader. Just take the MMC card out and slot it in the reader. DKU-2 cable is a way to transfering huge files WITHOUT having to turn-off the phone and taking out the card. So, good investment. I got myself a non-Nokia DKU2 cable - it works just as good. If you want to download MP3 via Bluetooth, yes it can be done but painfully slow. THe signal might even drop off in the mid of the process, not always, but it can happen. Not a phone problem, but a common BT problem. Just connect from your BT-enabled PC using "File Transfer" profile, search for yr phone, and just drag the file in. ANother way is - download PC Suite, where you will have "Nokia Phone Browser" module. Use that feature to transfer files.
Please can anyone tell me if I can transfer mp3 files from my PC to the phone via bluetooth, or do I have to buy the DKU-2 cable for the data transfer. Please please help...
can anyone tell me the model number of the Hands free kit comes with this phone? and does you have to change any settings when u want to use the phone with the Hads free kit?
The simplest I can say is CLASSIC! 6230 was a superb asset, this one is much much better. 15000(now)with bill for such a large no. of easy to use features.. Its grab guys.. Just forget K700 or Z800, Sony ericssson has got that software delay in loading every single thing. 6230i is far far better. Such a small package with such a lot of features, can you imagine at 13500 (grey market)...Aila... Never miss this stuff man.. If you miss it, YOU ARE MISSING IT.. thats it.
Got it 2 days ago Fantastic! THEN:
1. Everytime I take it out of the Nokia MBC-15S car holder, it asks me if I want to use phone as mass storage device? accept or reject it does not matter - turn it off and on again to get rid of that message.
2. If I adjust volume in car kit (Nokia CK-7W with MBC-15S)then remove & take indoors, phone rings very, very quite till you turn off & on again
software version 3.30 dated 21-04-05.sussed the ringtone default prob tho - move from MMC to phone memory cures that like 6230 did
I was wondering when does a phone like this show up in the USA? I was going to get the 6230 to replace my v551. But when I saw this was out , I figured I'd bide my time and wait for it. Does anyone know when It could show up over here? I'd hate to get the 6230 then have this one pop up.
The battery life, for my usage, is less than 2 days on average. My daily usage is (since it's a new phone for me, i practically play around with it every second i could - hence that bright display is always on) mp3 playing for about 15-25 songs a day, 10-20 mins of talking, 10-15 mins of SMS & MMS, ~3-5 pictures, 2-3 times PC-synchronizing via Bluetooth and many minutes of exploring the menu. In summary, yes, the battery is not as long lasting like some other phone like 4-5 days, but I'm OK with it as I charge my phone every night.
6230i is a mobile phone, not a Smart-phone. The only software that can be downloaded into it are Java programs. Better check with your preferences b4 buying - coz it sounds to me that you need an all-in-one tool... like a smart-phone :-)
Good in the looks and features department. Uneven distribution of lights in the keypad and is priced at a bit higher. But, Compared with other phones in this category, Nokia 6230i is simply the best.
Y does every1 have diff opinions on the camera?every1 has the same phone, nothing more or nothing less!some say its good, some say its bad.iam soon to be an owner of this phone and whether i listen or read bad opinions about it,iam still gonna take it on contract!
Can anyone tell me whether some addition softwares or application such as dictionary, Real Player, and so on can be installed in Nokia 6230i? Thank you...
