I got my 6230 last april and fell in love with it. So when the new 6230i was announced I somehow managed to get one a few weeks ago and I think the best phone available just got better.

My solutions to some problems mentioned on the site:

1. T9 works beautifully as on the old phone. No complaints. There is an option where u can use the T9 in traditional form or in the new auto complete word suggestion forms which can be really helpful once U get used to it. Remember original problems with T9?

2. Battery life is really good. There is a power saving option for those who need to squuze a little more of the Battery.

3. It isn't as quick as the 6230 but still its quicker than any other phone.

4. My firmware is version v3.23 dated 15th march. Its stability impresses for a new phone.

5. MP3 quality is impressive. Built in speaker strong, FM and MP3 on stereo headphones impressive.

Hi again,
Thanks for your information. Now I'm using two (02) phones with two numbers. One is my office work and other one is my personnel works. One is using for 6230 and other one is 6600.B'cas I went for these are good phones with all my needs and for my day to day work it helps lot. And also I went for these two, both can work with bluetooth, that is much easy to answer when I'm driving a car.And also compare to asian market, prices are affordable. Now my problem is I couldn't answer both lines in one bluetooth. Pls advice if there in any bluetooth devicers compatible with these two phones ???.

Hi All,

6230i seems to be the perfect phone with lill bit of everything. But, I want to know about its MP3 player. Is it stereophonic like in the case of N-Gage or it is monophonic like in the case of 6600 or 3230?
Review doesn't mention about this nor does the nokia website

Desha

there's nothing much to clarify about the stereo fm radio on both phones. both have stereo mp3 players and fm radio. since you know that both have stereo fm, y bother about wrong information?

the difference between the two phones? please use the 'compare' function found on this site, or go to Nokia's website to compare the phones.

There's more bugs on this thing than i can list. I really hope someone from Nokia reads this because they made a genuine pile of crap. My third, MY THIRD handset is bad as well. Nokia obviously doesn't stand for quality anymore.

I just bought a Nokia 6230i and have already experienced problems. Firstly when you add clip-arts and frames to pictures the phone does not allow you to do this. It says "Not Allowed By Activation Key". When I went for an exchange the same thing happend. I think all the U.K Nokia 6230i's have this problem. I have since got a refund.

I had the opportunity to try out my six-month-old 6230 with a friend's brand new 6230i. After a couple of days it became obvious that the newer phone is very good indeed. 6230 is no pushover but 6230i makes a very bold attempt of putting it in the shade. It does not answer every gripe about the old phone and even introduces a few of its own, but what is good about the improvements is that they are from complete reworkings and not just add-ons.

My verdict is that 6230i is an absolutely splendid piece of work and it is impossible not to be impressed with it. But somehow I cannot get over the fact that this fantastic new phone lacks its own identity.

6230i's image is tied to 6230, but without exactly the same degree of charm and character that has made 6230 so special and the icon that it is. This is one attribute that is too overwhelming to ignore and one that not too many 6230 owners will be in a hurry to give up.

What do you mean by broked(T9), the dictionary is very poor or what? I have to say that i'm sorry for this phone which wants to be a "buisness" one, with this kind of lifetime battery it doesn't have a chance to stay on top(so many function but so little time :)))

@T-man : Yes, I am a 6230i user , but I didn't have 6230 before, although a very good friend of mine has that model. If the camera does not interest you very much, I can't tell there is so much difference between the 2 models. In my opinion 6230i menu is more laggy than the previous model. Another plus of the 6230i is the display , that is obviously enchanced.
Some more minuses:
The T9 is borked; The Push-to-talk and EDGE services are not available in my country (Romania) ; I can't make the difference between the sound quality of the two models
