i've had my nokia 6230i now for a few months and its great thing is the radio has stopped working it comes up sayin enhancement not supported even tho i've used it quite a bit already.....any ideas??
I have been using this cell for about an year now and i havent seen such a nice cell which got 1.3 mega pixel camera, mp3 player, video camera, media player, fm radio, internet and plus i believe its size is small compare to other nokia phones. I can never go out without my 6230i with me and it simplifies my work alot, i dont need a calculator nor anyone to remind me for any programs or schedule its my nokia 6230i which does all the work for me, over all this phone is the best.
Hi.. It's me The Charger Man again.. Thank you for a friend that giving the advice to use the LI POLIMER battery. I will try it. My real name is Steve Hopper, I'm working as a Principal of Store in one of Kuwait City that selling the daily needs NOT the competitor of Nokia. Once again TRUST ME... Nothing to lose, isn't it.
Anybody pls. tell what is the amount of RAM?. will it be able to download mp3 songs from WAPsites?.
yo guyz does anyone know where can i get the englih-english dictionary? just post this earlier and hope someone out there hv the answer for me
the battery life sucks but it'll last more that 12 hours (more like 18-20 hours) with high usage (i.e. camera, bt, games, mp3, radio). with low usage it can last about 1-2 days.
pretty good phone overall but the camera/video kinda sucks and you can't forward/rewind videos.
TO CHARGER MAN:
I feel that Charger Man is not just a user but a worker for the competitor!!
Since he say battery having problem...
MMS having problem...
GPRS having problem...
What's having problem again??
Come on charger man!!Your phone company isn't great too!!Nothing is best in this world!Including your company!
Statement below is against the opinion given by charger man:
I am a user of Nokia 6230i and i feel that the original battery is not really long lasting but how about other battery?
I had bought a Li_polimer battery and this phone can last more than 1 day for high usage(5-6 hours of MP3)
So,why not buying this phone??
Just change the battery will do...
For me...The battery can last around 2 days + for low usage....
Hi it's me again Charger Man. Still remember me? The man who always bring the charger beside the 6230i because the phone only have an unless 12 hours operating even in low-uses. Trust me : Please DO NOT buy this produsct or you'll be disappointed later. Some of the opinions have a positively comment about this phone but once again TRUST ME: Nokia 6230i is not your great choice to own.
- The battery is SUCKS,
- The power management is SUCKS,
- Sometime the GPRS failed to operated and definitely the MMS cannot works if the GPRS failed.
I Think This Phone & All Nokia Phones Lack Memory As Standard This Phone Only Gives Me Up 2 4 Mp3s Whilst The Sony Ericsson w800i
150 Average & Samsung d600e up 2 50
i am using this phone for some time now its really great. i just need to know can i use a 1gb memory card on it? nokia says not to. what would happen if i did? does anyone have an answer to this...let me know. thanks
This hanndset is the ultimate device for the basic user that has some sort of knowledge about technology.not to mention, it is very durable...just be mindfull about the screen if it falls often...apart from that, smothe sailing. bluetooth,infrared,am/fm radio,64mb mmc,20mb internal memory,music/media player..and much more..1 of nokia,s BEST.
the 6230i is identicale to the 6630 1.3mp cam bluetooth video cam and so on but no problems the only diffrence is designe
i really like this phone, has all what i want. radio, mp3, camera, speaker, voice recorder, complete connectivity... got lucky!!!
I think the phone's function rocks! But those people out there who are unhappy with your phone, your warranty is not a bogus one!!! Go down to the Nokia Care Service Centre nearest to you and you can tell them to do a software reflash for you, hardware problems can also be solved with the replacing of LCDs, Speakers etc. This phone is fine after you service it... For those first batch phones. And the latest software currently is V.3.70, and you can go down, tell the staff your problems, and let them solve it for you guys! Don't give up on this phone just because it hangs temporarily.
I have to agree with ChargerMan. If you're lucky, you'll get a great package. If NOT, then it's SUX! I have the same problem with ChargerMan, the battery doesn't last long, around 40h the best with Low Usage. It gets worse if I charge it with the Fast Charger. Having low/no signal also eats battery.
I believe there's power management failure on this product. Not all, but it's quite a lot to see here. The battery is actually fine, just the power management system in it. For my phone, when the battery level gets down, the screen light on for 5-10 seconds.
THE BAD THING : I have sent complaint letters to Nokia Asia Pacific and also Nokia Headquarter in Finland, and they DIDN'T DO Anything about it. Not to mention the local Nokia office.
My recommendation, just stay away from this phone.. it's one of the Nokia greatest phone but yet also one with the most failure product. I think I'll just sell it in a few months after some new models coming. SE K750i/W800i looks great but I'm kinda not into SE.
good phone - but not designed for people who use the PC to connect to it for everything!!! i had 8310 previously and enjoyed the PC Suite features of browsing messages when the phone is not connected, 6230i doesn't allow that.
you cannot browse anything if the phone is not connected - so if you loose your phone you are stuffed - nothing on the PC you can access.
the calendar view is ok - but lacks the daily view that 8310 had - that was much better - showing birthdays etc in small icons.
the PC Suite folder "Nokia Phone Browser" shows up under all profiles of the computer - this is crap - if there is more than one profile on a PC then this is not a good idea.
no way to upgrade or get messages from the old phone to the new phone or software.
for people using PC Suite not recommended at all.
PS: This observation is just from 2 days using it!!! Im sure there is more to come.
Software fault?? I've had this model replaced 3 times now as the ringtone becomes very soft (practically inaudible). Patient enough to try and resolve this issue one last time before exchanging for a different model.
Another model with same/better capabilities??
Hi again.. it's me The Charger Man again. I'm forget to tell you more information about this SUCKS 6230i. The MMS WONT working properly even you've already setting the connection.
