Nokia and SE 4 Lyf!
You're most welcome...
It will save you more battery life if you disable the screensaver. Same as for animated wallpapers (.swf)
Hehe..Hello your highness :)
Kidding aside..yeah, I just updated my firmware yesterday at the office (corporate LAN)so it's faster. The update itself lasted for 12mins! Check at Nokia Europe for the firmware v5.60 update.
Dani said he will not tell things about phones again in this forum, he will just help people around in their queries, sigh, poor boy, he is so good at phones yet he is quite confused,
really?? you have updated from 5.10??how???
last time i usedmy phone and checked its net speed at www.speedtest.net. it shows 1000 kbps, but in reality, our phone is not capable for that, so it gives me a much slower download rate, how did you upgrade your 6233?
thanks for reply!
my phone's firmware is 5.43 RM-145
n m not facing any problems!
btw if we don't use anomated screensaver.....still phone's battery will get quickly dried?
thanks in advance
Here are some changes that I observed when I updated my firmware to v5.60
1. Some says, the battery life got better on v5.60. For me, I still get a full 4 days when my fone is fully charged with average use even before I had the update (v5.10).
2. Spam filter added for email application
3. User Interface and Browsing through the net using GPRS/3G is a bit faster than previous firmware versions. I usually surf the net using my 6233 by connecting it to my laptop. I noticed that the usual speed is 460kbps, now I even get 500 plus more kbps. I'm not sure if it is because of the firmware update or my network provider is having problems or something.
NOTE: If you're not having problems with your present firmware, there's no need to update it.
@gunzz= first of all the SE launched P series to combat nokia E series not N series, it launched walkman and cybershot brands like W and K series to combat nokia N series but all faileddddddddddddddddd, @dani= hy why r u so upset u havent post a comment for sooooo long. @nikz= so whats going onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
wow...n6233 used to be a peaceful forum!
btw.....i and another 6233 user asked same question which is still unanswered!
people who have upgraded firmware version from 5.43 or 5.10 to 5.60.......

does it offers extra stuff?
to all techy guys...people come to this forum seeking answers to their querries and u all ARE capable of giving required answers but there is a steaming fight going on on the best mobile brand!
please....people need help and answers1
stop bashing other brands!i don't think any cellphone brand offers ALL features in low price and with attractive design!
please stop fighting and blaming each other!
we respect everyone's opinion!
thanks in advance!
does this phone have an option to choose where to save the receive file? (phone memory or memory card)
dear shantanu, sadly it seems 6233 doesnt detect 4gb>_<
you can install games pretty easily though just copy and paste them on your memory card!!!
no need for antivirus as 6233 isnt susceptible to any type of virus(series 40 in general)
you can install applications and games in "java" format hehe just go to dotsis youll find lots of neat apps and games there^_^

ND I M WAITING 4 UR REPLY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
@ DAni,, Bro they are atttacking you??? The Ninja from Nokia are on the move, we the member of the akatSEki must try to beat their jutsus, hehehehe, SE have a formidable jutsu develop in long years of training, we have an alas, X series is coming....
Walkman and Cybershot better than N Series??? Hahaha!!! Think again! Well, it can be recalled that SE launched the P Series to combat the N Series. But looked who failed? It's SE!! That's why SE is now launching the X Series and guess what, it is again an attempt for SE to combat the N Series. Well, let's just observe if SE would win. But as what i am seeing right now, Nokia makes huge steps forward. Just see the Nokia N96 with a
*16GB internal memory with the High Capacity Micro SD Support
*2.8 inches high definition 16.7 million color screen
*5 MP cam with the famous Carl Zeiss Optics label which is already known to produce sharp and crisp images and in real colors with Dual LED Flash and autofocus with a focal length of 5.2 mm
*VGA video (30fps)records in M-PEG4 and the audio codec is in Stereo AAC
*DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcast Handheld) Support (the feature found on the Nokia N77 and N92)
*Symbian OS v.9.3 that allows you to download useful .sis and .sisx file applications and as well as .jar and .jad files that are more than 1 MB
*Flash Lite 3 Support
*A-GPS (Assisted Global Positioning System)
*Stereo Fm radio with RDS
*TV Out connection
*3.5 mm audio output jack
*office document viewer
*Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with UPnP technology.
*Dual ARM 11 Processors each have 332 MHZ speed.
*HSDPA (3.6 mbps)
*128 MB RAM
Then next, the Nokia N78 that got:
*16M color screen 240x320 display resolution (2.4 inches)
*98 MB SDRAM
*HSDPA (3.6 mbps)
*Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology
*Symbian OS v.9.2
*Full HTML Web Browsing (Same with N96)
*3.15 MP Camera (Carl Zeiss optics), video is in VGA in 15fps recording in MPEG-4 and Stereo AAC Audio Codec.
*Stereo FM radio
*FM transmitter (New Interesting Feature)
*3.5 mm audio output jack
Now Dani, can you point out even a single SE phone that got all of the above features??
Well definitely none!! Even the screen is not a masterpiece of SE! Cannot even afford to release to the world market a 16 Million colored screen enabled handset!!
Hi I am using this for quite some time now ..
absolutely no problems with this one .. battery life is pretty decent. I like the sound volume & clearity in this one ..
Only this missing is the duel cam for Video call since this already has the 3G capability
@carloud= ya bro u r right i am just explaining the fact that SE lacks so much features in other mkts than japan and yet so costly just because they provide better handsfree, and one thing i forgot to tell that even w960 and p1 are symbian but they are symbian 9.1 whereas n82,n95,e90e51,and so more phones are symbian 9.2,thats a huge difference and u know k850 comes with 512 mb card whereas n82 comes with 2gb, i am eying n82 as it is about 18k here,n95 8 gb is 27k,w960 about 28k,k850 about 20k so to me n82 is just greatttttttt, now SE g700,g900 etc comes with symbian 9.2 uiq i think but nokia also coming about symbian 9.3 serioes 60 which will be of huge difference, so to me nokia is about 1 year ahead of SE, about xeperia it is a htc product and till it launched nokia will definetly surprised us with far far superior new touchscreen mobile range. so nokia rulessssssssss and ya did u u find any SE phone having wifi with upnp support.
do u use the mobile phone only for playing mp3
1000 times i have heared about your walkman os from you.
dont you use the mobile phone for calling, sms, mms, gps , browsing, conferencing etc. do you know other usage of mobile phones
if you only need mp3 player then go for an ipod or a cheap one creative mp3 player.
people like you have reduced the status of a mobile phone to as a media player only
