just bought this phone and have no complains, yet. to connect it to a pc through USB port do a i need a special Nokia cable, i didn't see a USB port like in other Nokia phones?
do you have the latest firmware? If not, upgrade it. This will solve the problem of the phone turning itself off during conversations..The battery can be also the culprit.
it doesnt have the characteristics of a Music Phone ....its more of a Fashion Phone ...even the earphones arnt Music types
and if anyone says the Stereo Speakers that make a Music Phone nope..it isnt a music phone.....
Hi, I've had the Nokia 6233 for over a year now and in the last 3 months it has started to switch itself off in the middle of conversations. This seems to happen when the battery is fully charged / when the charge has come from my car kit (I've had this installed since I had the phone).
Here's the answers to some of your queries guys.
6233 music edition comes in the white colour with a 2GB/1GB microSD card and data cable included in the package. I prefer the black color version as its more classy. you can easily get a higher capacity microSD card and data cable from the market at a much lower cost instead of paying for the 6233 music edition. By the way you can use both the CA-53 and DKU-2 USB cables with the 6233 (works for me). The 6233 is better in video than the 5300 (5300 supports only 3gp, 6233 supports 3gp,mp4 and H.263). the 6233 has a higher capacity battery (3.7V@1100mAH) so more backup , more playing time. Now Mp3 formats. an average MP3 file recorded at 128Kbps, 44,000Khz takes up 1MB per 1 min. Higher the bit rate (164,192,256,320 Kbps) better the quality, and greater the memory size. Cd quality comes at 192Kbps and best is 320Kbps. 128Kbps is a standard and sufficient for normal listening. VBR (variable bit rate ) files are more efficient but it depends on your player whether it supports VBR or not. 6233 supports VBR files (tried on my phone). u can use a high bitrate for using the phone as music player with good quality headphones through the audio adapter. for a ringtone i recommend the normal 128 Kbps CBR (constant bit rate) or VBR file. U can save the video files on the memory card as well as phone memory (u can select the folder from the settings in camera mode) the phone will display the time it can record depending on the free memory available. To use the photo id you need to have the contacts stored on your phone memory (not SIM memory) the phone supports 500 contacts. To install Jar file you need to install nokia PC suite on your PC and use its Installer feature. you can install using IR, Bluetooth or data cable. I recommend using the data cable (its faster and easier). when you download anything using WAP over GRPS with EDGE, the default location is the phone memory which cannot be changed, however the phone automatically asks for the memory card when the phone memory is used up. u can always move the data from the phone memory to the memory card. Nokia says that the 6233 supports upto 1GB, i've been using a 2GB Transcend microSD without any problem. Just format the new card from the phone (not a PC) for trouble free use. The battery backup of the 6233 is great, works upto 4-5 days on a single charge. the phone can work upto a day even when the battery meter is near the end. I recommend users to give full charge and discharge cycles for the battery for best performance and longer battery life.
I hope this answers your queries.
can somebody tell me what is the difference between 6233 and its music edition?
i love nokia handsets. i change my handsets every month & i am crazy about handsets.the looks of nokia 6233 is not really great as the price is Rs.8500.i purchased it last week. please launch a handset with stylus.it will be great.please reply , i am waiting for resposne for a stylus handset.
dear alexis, hehe your welcome ^_^ regarding your querry
err 6mb isnt really big enough
since most of the time a song or an mp3 file is 3mb
if you know how to compress sounds maybe you could squeeze in 4 maximum...
but the good thing is 6233...comes with a standard 128mb in the package!!! hehe at least in our region hehehe in other countries it only has 64mb hehe
now you could put in a couple of songs without the need to compress it for best audio quality ehehheeh
can ny1 tell me .....how to install .jar ext games in this phone....i want to install splinter cell.....pls ny1 help me....
buy nokia adapter and connect it to bigger speaker music lover............ 6233 rockssssssssssssss..........
Just open the photo of a person and in options select 'Attach to Contact' option, attach it to his contact and viola ! The photo will be visible when the person calls next time...
is ther any way to set "photo caller id" (see the photo to the person who is calling you) on 6233 ? if yes then how?
When you record videos using nokia 6233, is the file saved directly to the memory card or the phone's internel memory?
thanks much carloud!! actually im not really a techi person..im not really into special features of the fone.. all i need is a gud resolution for pictures and an mp3 with of course with good sound quality..and i found it here in 6233 with the reviews that i have been reading i guess this would be a perfect fone for me..it got what i need with a very cheap price.. btw carloud with just the memory that it has approximately how many songs can i store here??
Great phone, great value for money and packed with features. Have been using it for the past 9-10 months. no hangups till now.Easy online update of firmware. I'm using a 2GB microSD card, and there hardly any signs of the phone slowing down. Great sound quality. the music edition comes in silver with datacable, 2GB card included. I prefer the classic black, more stylish yet simple. You can connect any of your normal headphones to it with the audio adapters AD-15, AD-46. i use the AD-46 with my SONY DJ headphones. Great music player and the graphic equaliser are really quite effective over the whole freq. range. The earlier 6230i Graphic equalisers were not much effective. The FM radio is great with visual radio. High speed internet excess with GRPS. can dock with the music stand MD-1 like an ipod. great still camera and video. the voice recorders great, can record upto 1hr in a single AMR file. made a 16min rec of just 1.5Mb. can be used as modem with ur PC but you need the configurations settings and subscription from your service provider. the only drawback is the low internal memory (6Mb, earlier 6230i had 32Mb with 21Mb user). gives memory full error when browsing sites with more pictures, need to clear cache and continue. great phone i'd rate it 9.9 out of 10. The sound is the best, i've heard among other nokia and sony ericsson. Sony ericson phones are louder but shriller and high pitched sound, but the 6233 has a more clearer and more natural sound. i think the 6233 is better than the 5300. just hookup you own headphones. great battery backup. nokia really got it this time, an all rounder phone, just the type for all from music lovers to executives. The Presenter function is just great. so much in a phone.
