6233 - THE FACTS. I've been reading some of the history about this phone on GSM Arena and I think its about time we clear up a few points and get to the truth.
1)In order to set reminders on the calendar it does take more moves than the old 6230 or 6230i. I am puzzled by this as technology surely means progress and yet you need to make 12 moves on the 6233 (entering on your chosen date) compared to only 8 on the 6230/i !!
2) and you can only scroll as far as 'ALARM' using the centre button and then have to tab down the rest of the way..
3) This a weird one. Even though you have entered calendar on your chosen date, the software insists that you still have to scroll through it again! This makes no sense to anyone whatsoever!!
4)Another odd one. When replying to a text message, the software takes back to the phone number of the person to whom you are replying! Why!! You are replying so don't need to send the message elsewhere, unless ofcourse you are receiving psychiatric treatment of some kind!! In any event, just choosing the option for 'contacts' (the old way) is still the best and more importantly, most obvious choice here!!
5) I've only been looking at this phone for five minutes so I do not be suprised when I print a few more facts about this phone!!
FOOTNOTE - I tried ringing NOKIA for an explanation (seemed only fare) but unless you want to spend ages on a premium rate line, waiting to talk to someone- YOU CAN'T!
I'd be grateful if anyone knows a number for NOKIA UK where I could speak to someone directly and get the answers..?
Other then that, this phone is BIG and it is HEAVY and if you have any concerns about what I have written, GO CHECK IT FOR YOURSELF!
6233 not what you would call an advancement in technology - by any means..
the best phone i bought so far. great features, cost less but has all the functions you need for a phone as well as a mp3 player. great stereo sounds (dual speaker). can support 2gb memory card. thats heavy man!!!!
I have this phone from about 3 monts......very simple to use, lot's of stuff, great/loud sound (stereo), card slot... if u like the design (this is the weakest spot of the model) well then this is your new phone!!! rockNroll
theres nothing rong with the navigation ...its better than the sonyerricson K750i joystick...
Someone has written below 'navigation is logical' about this phone!
Lets all say it together 'its not true'!
And it isn't. Sadly :(
Gave me a good laugh tho.. :)
Too heavy, poor battery life, pointless menus. U get the picture..
the 6233i if it comes out will the contacts wil stay at 500 contacts ..because they neva changed it in the 6230i ...i have no idea wat they could improve in this fone nothing to really..only contacts and built in memory...
to the person below this with no name......
get this 6233 ...it will last longer and is better than se w700i ...the w700i will brake down becuase its not tough....this 6233 is....and its the stereo speakers nothing can beat them.2 speakers(stereo) there so goood......all in all 6233 is better than Sonyerricson W810i,W800i,W700i,K750i,D750i...
i am currently in kenya planning to migrate to USA can any1 plz tell can this phone be used in the USA?????
Great little phone, pleasing user interface, navigation is easy & logical, generally an affordable device that's feature packed. A little heavy is my only complaint! Sadly, to get an uprated camera on a Nokia when upgrade time is going to mean buying a horrible "Symbian OS" phone which I'm dreading!!!

It's a very good, simple to use phone.
Unfortunately it crashes quite abit but the speaker quality is awesome. Expandable memory, easy to use and get used to the new features in no time.
Well Worth It!
which one is louder nokia 3250 or 6233 or n73. is any one know plz answered tis question.
and its bigger and heavier than my 6230i?
what will they think of next. perhaps a seperate battery pack with a curly lead!
over complicated software too.
So this is technology and progress is it? Why then does it take about half a day to save a message to the calender then, compared to the 6230 or 6230i? Considering I have already chosen the date in which I need to enter my message I then have to scroll through it again and then scroll through an option to repeat the message (very rarely used) Why? I thought technology was supposed to make things easier and not complicated..
Also, when you reply to a message you then have to scroll past the number of the person to whom you are replying. Whilst this seems to faciliate a one touch send (rather than cseeing it after, as before)this is just 'technology' for the sake of it. Absolutely no need to do it. For all the above reasons this is a disappointing phone, and I'll be sticking with my 6230 until Nokia start getting it right again Shame..
