Thanks to Irvine for the advice to use Nokia Phone Suite ver 6.82.
Now I'm able to edit my contacts on my PC and sync with the phone without any freezing windows like I encountered using ver 6.81.
Nokia has also added a new function in ver 6.82 to enable user to check online for phone (firmware) updates but unfortunately it doesn't seem work for Nokia 6233 (yet?).
I got the phone today and iam not happy because i cant send things bigegr than 6mb by blue tooth as there is not enough space on the internal memory. Is there a way where i can get the files to go directly to the memory card?
Does anyone know if there's a later firmware for Nokia 6233 than version 4.52?
I was supposed to send this response to your email address but it seems you didn't put any as not to clog with this off-topic discussion (coz this is about the Nokia 6233 and you are asking about N72 and SE W550i)
Ok.. I dont have full knowledge on N72 or w550i but what i know is that there is a Compatibility issue (correct me if I'm wrong) with nokia and SE.
Me and my friend have tried to transfer files from a nokia phone to an SE phone and we encountered the same problem. we thought it was due to the file size (of the picture we were transferring using bluetooth, them MMS ) but it turns out that both units cant perform the operation because they are of different brands. happened to 2 of my friends as well.
(if you have other questions regarding this, you can send me a private email)
Thx for your response. Actually I faced this problem when I transferred some mp3 files from N72 and SE W550i via bluetooth. Weird enough a problem! When I try to move the file, it gives 'Operation failed'.
Can you let me know is there anyway I can manouvre, so that files coming through bluetooth tarnsfer gets directly to my external memory card ?
I have experienced the same problem BUT only with .nrt and .aac files which are protected. mostly pre-installed or downloaded from nokia or your network.
But not with mp3 or wav files. I can easily transfer them from internal memeory to the external memeory (memory card).
Maybe you can give other details regarding your problem so we could help you out.
I have found that for certain music files (*.mp3 mainly) I am not being able to move it from internal memory to external memory. As the internal memory is extremely less, this issue will create a significant problem in phone to phone data transfer, as the transferred files initially reside in the internal memory.
Has anyone faced the same problem, and if possible carved out a solution for the same?

hi this is kirsten frm the philippines. hi migs! where can i purchase this usb/data cable? i have plans of buying this phone very soon. but if i will, i wanna buy the cable along with it. thanks!
Yes i can watch live TV using my 6233.
NO you cant watch it using the SMART network.
Why? The 6233, tho it has a built in player, can only play 3gp and sdp files. It cant play rm files.
Globe is offering FREE live streaming plus it also has an sdp file but only for ABS-CBN.
I have covered this topic on my blog site.. try visiting.. migs.wordpress.com
Hope this helps
> For a fully charged battery, it can last for 3 days if used for listening to radio, mp3s and sms. That's based from my experience.
> Passwords for memory doesnt have any effect using your own phone. But if you place your memory card on another phone, it will require you to enter a password.
> I was not happy with the volume using my headset.. i thought it would sound as loud when using my speakers.. I think nokia built it this way to protect our ear drums (that's what i think.. heheheh)
> If you use your phone to watch live streaming TV, you'll notice that your phone heats up... I don't know why. It happens with other 3g phones that i have seen anyway.
> With regards to pictures, my friends are amazed on how clear and digital like quality pictures the 6233 can produce.. but don't expect the same results when there is no proper or ample amount of light... pictures taken under these circumstances tend to have speckles and small spots...
Hope these helps!
