I bought mine from Amazon.com at US$389.99 plus s/h. It's not close from New Jersey but it's a trustly store.
You can visit too www.mobilebee.com or www.mobilecityonline.com. This last one has a retail store in Manhattan. Here's the address:

can anyone suggest wat 2 do..coz its supposed to be playin mp3's
Again, with regards to the memory, I've read some different things about the expandable memory. Some sources say the max is 2GB, some 1GB, and some even say only 512MB. And is the memory card the same as that of 6230i? And what does 'hot change' mean? Thanx
i'm sorry to hear that your 6233 has such problems. Since you are eyeing on other phone, what do you think of the N73? They just make it available in Singapore. Personally, I like the camera slide cover.
My Nokia 6233 has been a good boy. Battery life up to 5 days, on avarage is about 3-4 days. So far so good, no network problem or anything like that. I am interested in N73, though, just because of the cover slide and the flash feature for the camera which 6233 is lacking.
Good to hear that Nokia will provide you a new phone for the time being, hope they can fix your phone.. but 21 days are just to long... nevertheless, all the best for you Roger!
Good one mate! I went to get mine today, at carphonewarehouse, only to be told the on-site engineer cannot fix it. He sent it to Nokia, who in turn will try and fix it. Failing that, CarphoneWHouse said Nokia will provide me with a new phone, to compensate for the matter. I just hope they can fix it, as i am already eyeing up other phones. My phone might only return in 21 days! How annoying is that?
I hope yours plays well. Take care
Lads and Lasses,
The 6233 still has the same V3.70 firmware.
Nokia won't say when they will release a new one. However, keep an eye on this site : http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/firmwareupgrade.htm The will display an upgrade as soon as it is available! Take care now. Roger
I received my phone black 6233 and it's really amazing. So far no problems with software, no freezing nor restaring.
I don't know if it's becuase my exciment, but I think this phone has better quality sound than my previous Sony Ericsson W800i, the sound is superior with the included headset (more volume, more clarity) and not to mention the speakeas, better than the SE W600i.
I'm very happy with the purchase. Btw, the software version is the same as yours, v3.70.
I think this 6233/6234 is the successor for 6230i,although like our friend say that in some parts 6230i has more than this.
That's the same like SE do with K600i/608/V600 with the successor the new K610i/m/618/V630.
You don't know if Nokia shall release met the "i" version like 6230 and 6230i.
About battery life,if you want, you can read this interesting website :
Rob, compared to the 6230i, the 6233 has a larger, higher-resolution screen, a higher-resolution camera, and is 3G-enabled. There aren't a great many other differences in features really. However, as you've noticed, the internal memory is smaller, and the 6233 can only store 500 contacts as opposed to 1000, so it's a step backward in some respects.
Cosmo, the 6234 is the Vodaphone version of the 6233. They are essentially the same.
1. This message seems to occur when you are connected to the 3G network. Try changing your network to GSM only: Settings > Phone > Network mode > GSM
2. Short answer is no. The "blank screen that has the date and time" is meant to be the equivalent of the digital clock on the 6230. One thing you could try is setting the screen saver to be a digital clock (Settings > Display > Screen saver > Screen savers > Digital clock) and turning off the power saver mode (Settings > Display > Power saver > Off), but the clock is still very small so there isn't really any advantage to doing this.
Can anyone know how to check the sfotware version on 6233?
thanks in advance
Hi - I've been going through this site for a long time, but this is actually my first post. I'm currently a 6230i owner and am really satisfied with the phone, with the exception of a few things like the small screen, sound quality, battery life, camera amongst other things. On the whole, how does the 6233 compare? Is it worth buying the handset now or waiting for the (i) version to arrive if it ever does? Also, the built-in memory is only 6MB whereas 6230i is 32MB. Will that mean less applications come with the phone? I plan on getting a 1GB memory card for the phone if I buy it. Thanks for the help.
you are wrong on the 3rd point i.e files larger than available phone memory are directly saved on the memory card.
You can transfer a file of any size via bluetooth.
Dear all friends of GSM arena.I ultimetely purchased the Nokia 6233 and found it well
1 battery life is good
2No software problem with latest version 3.7
3 sound of ringer is slow compared to 6131 and 3250 but we can bear with it.
3 so hangups but slow through bluetooth.
During transfer of file through bluetooth or infrared, the file is saved in phone memory by default so if u don't have enough memory in it this feature is a total waste.Tranfering mp3 did not work bcos of same constraints.
4 not very good at net surfing through WAP.
5 Stereo spears are nice and gives good stereo effect though low than SE models.
I hope this feedback will help u guys.
**LGP** - It's normal that srenn goes off after 10 second. It's due to battery savings. almost every phone nowadays have that feature:) Previously I had SE K750i and it was the same.
What do you people think is better : 6233 or 6234?
Are there any big differences?
In addition to my other questions, i want to know if i can turn up the volume for calls, i cant really hear the person im talking to?
My other questions where:
1. Cell Info Display: I want the area im in to be displayed on the 'desktop', i try to enable it, but it tells me: "Cell Info Not Avalible In This Network" "Select general indicators option to see all standby mode info in active standby"
2. Screensaver Clock: On my old phone, after say 2 minutes of a screensaver (animated GIF) it would switch over to the digital clock, on this it goes to a screensaver, then it will go to a blank screen that has the date and time (very small) up the top, im wondering if this can be made the same way as the Nokia 6230?
Hi Sattish, you can download application. For eg, i can download java application such as converter, or calculator....to this phone. for my phone, i've downloaded a Bible application n it's working perfectly. But I heard that there r limits to the size of de java application
