Nokia 6233 cant display .pdf and so on... and there isnt any java appli yet....
I've jumped in with both feet after checking the water and am praying for a lovely swim with this phone when it arrives. I shall post then. Kudos (esp. Roger) for being such a wealth of info.
Thanks Roger,i guess i am complaining too much, may be just expected it to be louder, but true the quality is amazing.
Also is it just my phone or does the 6233 camera not have the rotate option ?
Can 6233 open office ap[lications like .doc .xls .pdf .ppt
If not can we load any application to do that?
Can some one help me??
Does it have the Stereo widening option as nokia 6131, 6220, have. Because this option makes a qualitative difference to sound output. I've witnessed it in 6131.
Someone told me that it is not present in 6233. Kindly enlighten me as i am planning to buy one soon or else will go for moto rokr e2
Trans flash sd card on has a maximum capacity of 1gb at the present time. I have not seen a trans flash 2gb or higher. I would suggest we wait until they have come up with a higher memory capacity. I am using a tans flash ultra II 1gb which has a faster download than and ordinary trans flash 1gb.
I hope this will help.
does 6233 support 1GB n more memory cards??
Does it work fine with them??
I rated my phone's sound based on quality. I know someone who has a Samsung Z500 and it plays extremelly loud - 5 times louder than 6233, but the sound is not good.
The 6233 has a nice "3D" quality sound and some very high quality speakers, but they are not as loud as some other phones. I can say that my 6233 is loud, but then i don't use the speakers that much anyway, mostly just the headset. I bought a connector on Ebay, and now i plug my Sennheiser PX200 headset on. It blasts away and i just love it a lot. The stereo speakers are good too. Maybe you could, if you have time, take your phone to a shop and compare with one in stock? I found that shop assistants dont mind us faffing about with their sets on site, so as long as we are not abusing of it / of them. Give it a go, maybe, if yours is really low, then you could get some sort of replacement / service from where you got it from, originally...?
hope this helps you, at least one little bit - thanks for reading.
i have been a regular in this thread and followed everyone of your post an an't thank you enough,i got my phone 5 days back and half my queries had already been solved by you already here.
i love this phone but i have a qualm. All the reviews an users have rated the speakers very highly.i want to know with respet to what are these speakers being rated,is it quality or the loudness ?
The quality of the speakers is quite good but being stereo speakers an also the biggest on any phone they aern't simply loud enough. My brothers QD plays music louder ( on loudspeaker ) than my 6233 although quality of my 6233 is much better.
is this just my handset or is the 6233 just not loud enough ?
I'm very biased to tell you which is best. I definitely like the 6233. I had a play with the 6280 and liked it to be honest. Both phones are cool. However, i am a more simplistic kind of person. The flip phone / slide phone palaver is not my cup of tea. I prefer the normal straight forward ones, like the 6233. See, I had almost every phone Nokia ever produced....All in all i thought the best were 7250, 6310i, 3330, 6230 (and i) and 6233. Typical Nokia phones, nice and easy to use.
They both boast of some great features, and i can assure you whatever you decide will be a great choice. Just depends on you to see how you like a slider phone.. Pop in to a shop and ask to have a "working model" to play with, it helps!
I just remember, in calender, we can't use "search data" from contact, for ex : birthday. when we send "a bussiness card" it can only send "a default number" or "all data", so we can choose the other number. But i really like the sound from this phone, when some one call you, if you choose a mp3 file then it will ring from weakness to louder voice, really good
I have use 6233, the sound is very very good..., the big problem is in "contact", we can't use "edit label", so we can't store 2 0r 3 names in one contact. other problem, after a while when i use, it's show up "enchanment not supported", and later the phone will set back the standard ring tone in my profile (maybe it just need re program). the camera is ok only
i going to hav a new nokia mobile, i think to hav 6280 or 6233 or someelse except Nseries...which 1 is better? ty
hey guys. only problem with the phone is there is no option to select destination folder for data over bluetooth(6MB internal is just not enough) .. 500 entries is more than enough as SIM cards can carry 250 entries too(atleast). sound quality is good and 640*480 video is a big bonus. not including the USB data cable is a cheap shot nokia is now famous for.cost 13600INR(rupees)
Yes, you can text many users at once. Pretty simple to do, too. Just keep adding to the "to" list, then type message and voila!
Alarm, also, yes, only one, but you can set it up to repeat on many days - also you can set up a snooze time out.
I've had the W810i for a short while, and i would, without a shadow of a doubt, use the 6233 over the W810i. The 6233 is just a better phone all round.
Hey Lost user,
If both phones have bluetooth capability, then it should be easy. However, please bear in mind that if the file is larger than the internal memory, some fones will not allow the file to come down. People say some phones are coming out with the facility to select the intended destination of the file, i.e. memory card. Some phones won't have that option.
Can anyone tell me how to transfer video and mp3 files from a phone to 6233 via Bluetooth? Please help
Hi Roger, sorry to disturb u again. Does this phone supports multiple sms (eg, sms 5 people at one time)? And is it ture that it has only 1 alarm? And finally, based on your opinion, do you think that 6233 will be a better deal compare to SE W810 for long term usage? I want to get a reliable phone that can last me for at least 2 years. My present one is giving me lots of problems already.
Yeah, i make you right, this phone, slightly thinner, would make a great winner!
My phone, on volume 6, is great. However if i'm on a train and there's a call i absolutely have to answer, then i noticed that having it on 10 is always better. The voice is always loud and clear on my end. This seem to be, sometimes, all very relative with the network you're on. Some people have told me the network "3" is not a super duper provider for callers, as in voice sound clarity - I cannot porve/disprove that as i do not use "3" - I've had O2, T-mobile, Vodafone and now, Orange. All have been really good, however if i was to rate them i'd place T-mobile last, with a massive fight for 1st place for the other three networks. They are all good, really.
The phone is very good in my opinion, volume wise. The rest is just bliss, even with the very minor glitches we have been finding.
Hope you've all had a great w/end. Roger.
