No, the phone does not allow you to use fast forward option on videos.
the lastest, and oly version out as of now, is still V3.70
I asked Orange the other day, just to see what they say. They recommeded I took the phone back in to re-run the firmware. I lied saying it was a problem I was having, to obtain information. Well, i suppose if you can take it back to the shop, then that would probably help you in the long run....Have you phoned the service provider to see if they are having problems with their sync systems? Hope you're well.
It is sad you got a faulty phone. It is pretty much like anything you buy nowadays. Some of us get a good piece, some of us get a faulty item, then have to spend time getting it back to/fro the shops/retailers.
Let's hope you can get it replaced or renewed with firmware as soon as Nokia produces it. Fingers crossed.
Are you in the UK? If so, then there are loads of little phone shops that already have the unlocking program - ranging from 10 to 5 quid to do the job. There is no one on the net offering a code unlock program yet - I've searched the other day, but it is not available et, it'll be very soon though, the phone is out, people will get it sorted out soon!!
This is certainly the case with the nokia 6233. Once you change the theme, the whole shabang changes, ringtones and all. It is a bummer but some of us have already learned to put up with it. Sorry though, it is not good enough, innit??
this phone, however gorgeous, does not feature playlist functionality. It is a bummer, but unfortunately this is case.
the restarting of this phone is a bother to many of us. I think it is exactly what someone mentioned here earlier - something to do with RAM mem. it must be someting around that area. When the phone is required to do a few operations at once, like play music, a game or a text, and so on, it cannot take all that and shuts down. I am hoping that Nokia has a firmware upgrade coming out soon to fix all these little nags.
I'm not too sure about the 6630 or N70. I know the 6233 offers the possibility of prodcing a video call, although it does not have dual cam.
I am afraid i cannot help, but i've seen people on nokia's own website on discussion forums mentioning something about Cingular in US - might be worth a look.
Hope you are well!
Has anyone been using this phone in the US on Cingulars network. I would like to know how reliable the 1900 band is. Thank you
Yo roger!! Memba that problem i had with the msg settings?? Well its still happening... Still asks me to verify a msg centre no after every 10 sms's or so i send?? Maybe i should take back to supplier and get a new one?? What u think?? Thanks mate!!
I have a 6233 for more than 2 weeks now.
This phone has a serious problem of rebooting. It reboots itself frequently.
You cannot transfer yr phone book to the memory card. the phone book can take only 500 Nos.
Further with an bluetooth it dials itself to random nos. as all the nos. have a voice tag.
Looks like my earlier 7250i was better.
6233 has good looks and a good screen. But if it does not function as required what's the use. Looks like i have got stuck with this instrument. Nokia Care centres in Mumbai cannot rectify the problem as the set is new & they do not have the softwares.
i'm thinking of buying between, 6233, 6630 and n70. i've heard that 6630 is the best of them all aside that it's the cheapest of the three. 6233 is it a 3G phone? can i see whom i speaking with when the other line is using a cp with a dual cam? i've also red in reviews here that 6630's cam is better than n70, how is that? pls help me..thanks
Everything is okay..has problem with Music Player mostly, first of all if played on loud speaker and still in the music player mode and not wallpaper mode, it will shut off randomly and restart in random amounts of time. If using wallpaper it takes longer for it to reboot. Does not normally reboot if headset is used. Im guess it has something to do with the internal Ram running out? or some sort of battery safety? because it does the reboot much sooner at low battery (1 bar)
Any updates yet?
Purchased 3 weeks ago, I love it to peices!!! Screen is amazing like all S40v3 Phones and Pretty much what you see on the viewfinder is what you record! Sound Qual. via Speakers Lovely. Transfer Rates from my v2 Bluetooth Dongle so much faster than v1. Java games addictive, cant get enough of spiderman! Lastly im not a fan of chrome but that chrome metal strip around the phone is sex, the phone feels so solid! all thats missing is Wifi and for those 2gig sd cards to become avaliable. A+
I have a usb cable does any1 know how to transfer videos 2 this phone pc suite doesnt seem to be able to do it and adobe wont let me any sugesstions?
Just bought the 6233 and put an Ultra II scan microSD 1gb. It is absolutely fantastic and quick. The video and photos are remarkable when stored in the memory card. Try this memory card. It is worth the money buying for.
>> One is then required to go and update the profile for this again.
Is this happening to anyone else?
AVI - Yes, this is normal..
Friends, we need someone like Roger, who will share his objective personally experience.
To another who don't agree with his review, please, we must give respect each other.
The moment you change the theme the ring tone and the message alert tone reverts back to the nokia tune and the standard alert.
One is then required to go and update the profile for this again.

From K750 to 6233:
3G,EDGE,stereospeaker and PTT.
I don't know:
Quality of music via headset (I mean K750 with megabass) and battery life?
For those concerned about network branded or sim free phones, both my T-Mobile PAYG 6233 and the sim free one I returned previously, have the same problems. So it seems to be a Nokia problem, not a network branding issue.
Spoke to a couple of service centres, and no software updates as yet, v 3.70 is still the latest.
Been using this fone for almost a month, sold my N70 for this as I need a weekend phone, got a O2 mini for work. Overall, no regrets considered one of the best fone in terms of looks, size, function. Only one thing bothering me, can anyone teach me to create a playlist for mp3 player function??
The easiest way to transfer photos to your pc is via a card reader. This is quicker and so much better. The USB lead does not come included, and would cause a lot of aggravation anyway. You can get a USB lead on ebay or other shops, I think even Nokia has it too. I much prefer a good old card reader, so much quicker.
Thanks a ton Roger, the reset of the phone seems to have solved the sleep and power mode issues.
Cheers...will keep troubling you... ;-))
