it switches off and then restarts when viewing pics/videos? does this happen everytime you view a pic/video or just once in awhile?
whats included or inside the sales package?
Good phone got it for 3 weeks now...Allready have my speaker repaired because of noise in the speaker but thats just bad luck i think.Another thing i dont like on the phone is the volume of the phone speaker (so not the stereo speakers). Its a bit soft, i must put in on 10 to get a good volume, its not bad at 10 but i want it to be harder if im in crowded places. The 6230 was much harder... it this normal?
The minor bugs, very minor, are as follows:
Sometimes when viewing pics/movies on the phone, it switches off, then restarts.
Some people are complaining about battery over heating, however this is not a cause for concern for many many users, who simply did not suffer this problem.
Some people are complaining of screen being a bit washed out(colou wise). Not all handsets present this problem.
Some people complain about MP3 being noisy and a bit of white noise on radio. This is also due to poor radio reception.
I must admit that I only experience the first bug on this list. I am sure some people will be able to confirm having one or more problem.
The nokia is a very strong handset, a few came out with some bugs, but whatever it is, Nokia will undoubtdely be looking at it closely in the very near future. No cause for alarm.
No, PDF are not viewable on this handset, unless someone found a way of doing it, in which case I'm uninformed.
Unfortunately not. I've even asked Nokia directly. If PTP is not widely used, then why place a button there, where people could easily make it their own little short cut to other more important stuff; be designed to one single operation. Nokia says this is to the market that actually uses the PTP and this is it. Sorry, but i thought this was poor too. Absolutely very narrow minded of them.
If you mean the icons on the menu, and fast service menu on standby, then NO, they do not change. The only difference will be the background and the highlight of an icon when hovering it for application operation.
Yeah, I also heard they can't get it to work properly. But do you want to know why?????
THIS IS their own fault. EVERY time a handset comes out, a service provider creates their own firmware, with all their logos, singing and dancing stuff, fast service menu, bla bla bla. They destroy it for us. If the fone is sent to the customer/buyer as it came from the Nokia factory, they wouldn't have to pull it out of their stocks and recall handsets, would they? This is their own wrong doing, trying to be smart. I say, leave it as it is, then you get it right, and people keep coming back to a good service and good, reliable phones. Don't you agree?
Why is it we see the little orange/vodafone/O2/3/Virgin/T-Mobile logos right at start up then little things here and there with a similar pattern to their network? This is them trying to make it better, but only making a shambles of it. Poor Poor Poor, this is what i say.
If you were to get a unconnected, sim free phone, direct from nokia, i can almost guarantee you wouldn't have none of this nonsense. I totally understand what you say and couldn't be more p*** off at it sometimes. Let's hope other networks learn this from T-mobile and leave phones alone for us, eh??
Btw,may I know what are the 'minor bugs' that can be found in this phone?
can anyone please tell me if we can view pdf files or not in the document viewer
Bought this phone a week ago. Battery life's very good. Excellent sound. Camera & video are decent. However, sometime the phone display get washed & everything comes after 5 seconds. Firmware 3.7
Does anyone know if the PTT button on the handsfree can be assigned to another function?
I recently bought this phone from Optus World and I must say it's even better than I first thought. I haven't had any problems or seen any glitches whatsoever! The sound is great, speakerphone is so clear and has a full sound, it feels good, looks good, and of course being a Nokia is very easy to use. Glad I went for this model.
If anyone is considering buying this phone, trust me - it's worth every dollar! One of the best phones out there for sure.
I mean when u change a theme - wallpaper is changed and some graphical elements, does icons are changed as well?
as of 1st august t-mobile has discontinued this phone. they released it for a short while in july and now it has disappeared from their website - thats why. they told me the phone was so bad that i should bin it asap. i would advise anyone not to get it and if they have it on t-mobile, they should try and get a different handset. i dont know about other networks.
Nokia 6233. This phone has lived up to its series of 62xx. It is elegently designed. Feature packed. Very good display and sound system. The FM Radio is superb and so is the camera. In india it is priced very resonably and is a steal.
The black colour looks a stunner and is definately is good buy if you want an elegant business phone.
The only draw back i found was - the numbers are not well legible in the silver colour of the phone.
Nokia still has not released a fix to all the little bugs we keep finding, however, this is not likely to happen for another 3 months. Nokia will certainly be looking at this closely and release one package to fix it all, I hope.
Nevertheless, the phone is worth every penny, and definitely a great buy over many other handsets available now.
sorry, could you please let me know what icons it is you are on about, i'll sure check it out and let you know!!
I know, the internal mem is not great, but having an external mem helps. However this is no excuse, nokia should stop doing this, shouldn't they!!??
Same story here, unfortunately. However I am sure Nokia is keeping a very close eye on this issue and will sort it out with a nice little firmware upgrade/update soon. Moreover, this phone is worth every penny. It is not like the phone is total garbage you know? This is a little diamond - just needs perfecting, that's all.
Depends on what you need/want. The 6131 is a flip, right? I'm not very happy with flips, as a personal note. I'd be a bit biased but the 6233 is a better phone all round.
However, the k750i has a camera autofocus and flash, the 6233 hasn't.
Other than that, k750i and 6233 perform very similar jobs....they are both good in one way or another.
help anyone pls.
i want to buy this phone but im a bit nervous with the software or firmware (a lot of problems, glitches, etc.).
is this phone still worth the money?
yeh i considered that but when i was trying to apply a theme to the phone - brand new out of the box, it was coming up, not enough memory. i hadnt even saved anything on it? doesnt that seem strange? i mean, i love nokia - to the core but this one has one too many quirks for me. im loving the N73!!! This one looks good though.
Hey Kristen. I have notcied aswell that the phone's memory is quite small.. And yes i have had to delete applications from the phone in order to make more storage space... But i also have a 512mb memory card that does the trick too (stoarge wise) :)
has anyone else notices the very little memory on this phone? or that you need to delete applications, themes etc, to add photos, videos etc???? just curious. seemz like an inherant design flaw to me.
Wow this phone is amazing value, I saw it at Crazy Johns Galleria in Perth for free on a $30 plan with a free bluetooth headset!! I'll definately get one once i get a day off from my job at optus!
Just ordered from myworldphone (prices on ebay were a tad better but I am a bit wary of ebay sellers) Anyway, I expect to recieve it in a couple of days... my only thought is that I'm in the US vs the UK and the charger plug requirements are different here. Aside from a simple adapter, has anyone seen something from nokia I could use? Nokia US can't help, I'd have to call Nokia UK. You guys are lucky to always get the cooler phones... but this time I think I beat the sytstem! Fingers crossed!
Hey Guys, this phone has a good review from different sites including from this one!
