The phone has shut down and reseted twice.. ones when i tried 2 play a video clip that i made (a creazy resolution of 720*480 and the 2nd time when i was messing with a file on the phone when it was connected and opened on my computer... So far when the phone is not connected to any other device i havnt had any shut downs.. the phone has worked fine. The clarity of the picthure hav been great.. and Mp4\acc video clips of 320*180 and 256audio run GREAT!!.. as stated on some reviews the sound of an MP3 as a Ringtone is quiter.. but the video clip ringtones run at a great volume.. iv i stick a 2gig stick in there it can be a mini portable Media player.. the phone is great.. just little issues here and there.. that could hav been left out with some mart engineering but any way... 9/10 from me
who knows how to get the screen off please?? its covered in dust underneath!!
Vodafone hav changed their release date for this phone in the UK from February to April! The N80 is looking more and more like the better option! proof here: http://www.vodafone-emailme.co.uk/vfemailme/coming_soon.jsp
I own the 6280 having previously bought SE W800i. The main reason I bought the 6280 to replace the W800 was for the 3G. If you're not after a 3G phone then there is absolutely no reason for anyone to buy this phone. The W800i is a much better all rounder and much better quality, the camera is also considerably better due to the auto focus. I don't regret buying the 6280 as it does almost everything I need. I have 3 faults with this phone - 1) The battery life is the worst I have ever experienced. 2) The enhanced voice tags are useless and means I am now unable to use voice dial with my bluetooth headset. 3) The phone does occasionally restart, although this does not usually cause any problem. However there are some less chunky 3G models on the horizon. If your after a 3G phone straight away then I do not see any better alternative than the 6280 available ath the moment.
If the video only lasts 3 minutes you need to change the video length setting to max. The amount of time you record will then be limited to the amount of memory you have available. I have 25MB free on my memory card which gives over 30 mins of video.
Nokia Nokia ...........in esential is the best mobile but have to much handycap in price quality.I 2006 this phone read mp3 and no other file. The video is jus 3 min and the smart card is 64 kb really no good for Nokia. The Nokia dont have to think more for the more important things need a clients for use the mobile. The battery resist just 2 days,2 megapixel for a cam hmmmmmm dont have a definition for 2 mega. This model phone is not good for what you pay!

According to the O2 website, the phone is due for release next month some time....
I would really love to get this phone - my 7610 is starting to give up the ghost.
I did look at the 6111 but the reviews I read werent very good!!
hello everyone, please let me know if 6280 can be installed with the new SENSOR software from the nokia website. Can the SENSOR software work on this phone ?
Seems like the restarting-problem isn´t a general problem for all the 6280-ies. It only applies to the phones which have been modified by the operator Three (3). At least that´s what it sounds like if you read the "restarting-thread" at Nokias UK-website.
I live in Sweden and my phone got into some kind of "bad circle" where it keps restarting it self, as soon as I turn it on. That means that I ca´n not use it at all. It happened after I had been playing around with the "Aktivt vänteläge-function"... It should be something like "Active Standby" or "Active waiting mode" in English.. :-). I got a new phone from the store today, but i havent tried it yet (wife isn´t home yet...) I´m pretty shure it will have the restarting-problem, since I spoke to the support at Three (3) earlier today, and they admitted that the restarting problem seemed to be a general problem with all the phones. The woman at Three said that there will be a new firmware in two or three weeks. She told me Nokia is working on the problem.
The phone it self is great. I especially like the calendrar. The radio isn't great, but where I live and work it works fine on most of the channels. Listening to it in the car is however not a good idea, because it can't hold the stations...
Ashley - your post from a few days ago says Nokia claims the "FF/Rew interval" setting under the Media Player options is for the Music Player. If that's the case, why would it be under the options menu for the Media Player and not the Music Player? Besides the Music Player doesn't appear to have FF/Rew capabalities anyway.
OK, here's a small list of what's wrong so far...
Serious stuff -
charger tip got very hot and melted so no longer usable
Phone sometimes powers down when copying from the PC to memory card
Phone sometimes powers down when changing profiles
Phone occasionally locks up and requires battery removal to reset
Battery life is diabolical - even with light use it needs daily charging
Annoying stuff -
There's no FF/Rew for videos, making it useless for watching TV shows or movies
The music player ignores sub-folder structures and builds one long playlist from all sub-folders
If you're using the music player you have to get out to make a phone call
You don't get a timer while your call is active
SMS messages don't show the time sent, you have to go find it
I turned on PIN security now can't turn it off
Profile changes seem to randomly reset to defaults
Closing the slider doesn't always terminate the call, even though this is set
The vibration in silent mode is pretty weak
Phone doesn't support Bluetooth A2DP
Picture quality from the 2MP camera is worse than a Kodak DC280 of six years ago
Video quality is weak, it can't keep up with slow movements at VGA resolution
I've used mobiles since the early 90s and this is my first Nokia. It's also my last.
IT is great phone. Camera and video is perfect.Better then all, just n 80 will be better ,I think. My friend if u wanna upload your musics to memory stick ,dont use that nokia program..just go to folders and copy your songs to telepfhone folders..Just like u use your PC. That phone works like one partof your pc. If u ve downloaded nokia cd ..Go to my computer and open nokia browse..You re gonna see all nokia folders in your pc..And just move to files :)
Ive had this fone for a week now n its great! the only problem ive had with it is a dead pixel on da screen which is only visible wen the colour on the screen is dark and also the fone crashes occasionally when i press a button to change my profile or load somthing. Does anyone else have this problem? like the screen fuzzes out till its black for a second and then it loads the standby screen back up. Is there any way to change the screen brightness? cause it seems brighter than needed. Is there any way to make the voice on the phone louder? I have the volume set on max n i can barely hear the person on the other side of the line clearly. Max volume doesnt seem very loud. And i found the back cover was hard to open when i got the phone. I didnt know where to hold onto to slide the cover off cause the whole back of the phone is the cover and it fits on nice and tight.
This is a great phone. Camera is superb, better than the k750i and W800i. Wicked functions to radio and mp3 what more do u need
