Just wondering, can the backlight be changed to stay on longer? i cant even read a msg without it turning off.
Also on my screen at the top ive got about the radio and music player and at the bottom a 3 thing keeps running across my screen about the triangular key! Does anyone else have this? If so, can you get rid of it, as it is most annoying?
Thanks for any info.
What firmware version do you guys have in your 6280? To find out text *#0000# in the standby mode. Some users are saying that they have the version 3.40 and it doesn“t restart itself but a lot of people are having those restart problems...
Alex, regarding the Rewind/Fastward option in the menu that is for the music player according to Nokia.
Had my handset for a couple of weeks and not a problem with it so far. Call quality is superb, battery is good (considering the very heavy usage it gets - 10-20mins video a day, 30 mins calls, and a good hour or two playing games). As for other problems, such as backlighting only lasting 10 secs; if it didn't do this it probably wouldn't be able to squeeze out as much battery time as it does.
Overall, a very versatile phone with great form and size. Not a smart phone, but a bloody good one. Glad I waited for this over the N70.
Does anyone knows a site where I can download free themes for this phone PLEASE ??...
Got nokia 6280 today, perfect phone.the best on the market.with 1GbminiSD,which i got on eBay for £31 you got MP3 player!
I got handset in black/grey,like a lot! 2mp camera, perfect screen, voice recorder all in one!Light and not as slow as N70!
The only problem so far, got problem opening back cover and if you talk for long while on charge the handset is quite hot.
Ashley, I posted that same reply from Nokia last week about the lack of FF/Rew capabilities. What I didn't ask them was what the settings are for in the Media Player Options menu "FF/Rew Interval"?
Hi, Just wanted to know frow the ones who had the chance to buy this phone If the music player, as in nokia 6230 still canot see the music files in the created folders on the memory card... And if somone can tell me if the loudspeakers are correct or bad..
spoke 2 vodafone 2day theyre hoping to release this handset on fri 17 feb
6280 can read office file??? if some one know please write me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hi All, I have some information that I know people have been asking. The following is a quote from Nokia Australia.
Furthermore, we regret to inform you that it is not possible to utilise the 'rewind' or 'forward' functions for videos on the Nokia 6280. Please note that these functions are only applicable for the 'Music Player' feature on the phone.
This was quite disappointing for me as well because it is a very good media phone.
Big Issue with the phone though or Australian version of that is that it is very unstable. In eight days I am already on my third replacement due to the phone restarting at least 3 times a day(I do use the phone alot, typical time between recharges is less than one day), first phone I brought decided to give up the ghost and restart 3 times and then turn off every time. Second one only restarted ocassionally, mainly when on charge, unlocking keypad and changing profile from silent to general.
I have picked up the third one today so I will see how it goes.
I still recommend this phone though as it is very powerful video wise, memory upgradeable to 2GB and very good quality screen. Slider does seem a bit flimsy though with the springs slightly exposed when open.
Hope this post helps. Sorry I rabbit on.
Looks like Nokia has to prepare firmware update as soon as possible, because this one is unstable. Hope when it becomes available in Poland it has new firmware. It is expected to be on 09.03.2006.
Has anyone found any good games for this phone yet? ie 3D Snake
has anyone had problems when going from general profile to silent? when at work i change my profile to silent so my boss cant hear me getting a text etc. but when i return to general profile i often find that my ringtone settings etc. have been returned to what they were when the phone was new (factory settings) this is annoying me, am i doing something wrong?
to take the front cover off is quite simple. slide the front up and then click the top and sides off very carefully. your phone will not break as it is not glued together only cliped in about 5 places.
nokia uses Texas intruments 220Mhz proccesors, that "comparable" with Intel Scale in speed. they are more powerful proccesors but they just simply eat the battery. so they are not used widely yet. nokia is pulling alot of software into their smartphones, even if they are slow, they are faster than any conventional phone, Check the review of the motorola rokr 2 and the nokia 3250 you will see, in 1.0 motorola won ,
and in 2.0 and 3d nokia did. getting almost twice the speed than the SE k750i.
Gday again. battery life has lasted me 50 hours while using most features (bluetooth, radio, changing themes, making/receiving calls & sms's, camera-video&still pictures). For an hour and a half ive been playing mp3s, they battery was on its losest level that entire time and fianlly ran out.
Another thing i found out yesterday is the stereo personal headest is only for listening to music, it doesnt have a mike for making voice calls in your car grrrrrr.
I guess they want you to buy a bluetooth headset, the loudspeaker is no good to me as i have a loud WRX so anyone i call hears my car rather than me.
My firmware software version is 3.40 and still no reset problems
Hmm..Wonder why we are all having problems with this issue? The restarting? I also just tried to change my Profile as a matter of curiosity related to your post and ..wham! It restarted? Strange...
Can this phone recieve software updates? Maybe Nokia should send one out.
I have a problem with my nokia 6280, every time I swich off the phone and swich it on again it takes 45 seconds to start up. It has been replaced but still have the same problem.
