i got a 6280 about a month ago and it is a fantastic phone. i got a hard plastic case for it, so it won't get damaged, and bought a 512 mb memory card for it which works perfectly. its got one of the biggest screens in the market on it, perfect for playing tetris which i have been addicted to for 20 years!
only thing i will say, is the loudspeaker could be better, and if you worry about slide phones, just get the 6233, as inside it is very similar.
all in all a fantastic handset, everyone should have one!!
anyone knowww how the second(video call camera) works with out video calling?? is it capture image like 2mp camera??????
my dad has asked for this for his upgrade he 62 will he be able to use it he has a 6230 at now and ive been told there about the same menue plz advs
this is a very good phone sells very quickly @ our stores. i'd recommend it 2 any1
this fones had to much trouble that its look,,,,buy samsung if you want sliding phones
My dear Martin
I am sorry for your experience but do not misguide other people. Rather you should check what kind of files are you trying to run on your phone. I think this is the best nokia phone in the market overall. A MUST BUY for nokia lovers.
DO NOT PURCHASE!
I am sorry to say that I’ve never had a worst phone like this. Calling or answering a call is ok but if you start using the extra, which eventually you purchased the phone for, you’re in for a treat. Uploading MP3’s is severe pain in the rear end. The phone doesn’t recognise some files and after a while asks you to format your card. This means you lose all your data (yes also your images and movies) and some of the files that were not recognised could not be deleted.
The camera now makes images on a format the phone doesn’t recognise and sometimes when using the camera the flash stays lit. Which means you have to shut down the phone and then start it up again.
In short a horrible piece of equipment. Bad work Nokia!!!
Nokia's slider design is way more convinient than Samsung's! Large bottons, large solid phone's size, more expensive build materials, and reliability.
Yet, I'm having a hard time to deside between Nokia 6280 and Panasonic's SA7
Nokia has only 970 mah batterry comparing to Panasonic's 1600mah!!! With at least 262k color screan I cannot imagine using Bluetooth for all phone calls and to be able to squeeze 4-5 hr of talk time or more than One day of standby.
Nokia shold have made this phone just a slightly thicker to fit 1500-1600 mah batterry.
I have a question - How long i have to wait untill this data transfer cable get connected with the phone for the first time??
Anyone noe wat to do if de slide has got problems?? say like screeching sound wen slidin it..
i have had this phone for 6 months and the amount of faults i have had is beyond belief and by far the most i have ever had for one phone.
I have a SE k800i coming tomorrow to replace this handset.
But the 6280 is a nice handset to look at, a nice size and design i will say that BUT its just too buggy to enjoy, the operating system is just not tight enough to make day to day activitys a pleasure.
Its a shame because for me as i said to look at ....... its nice and the features were enough for me apart from say auto focus.........
Basically stay away from series 40 (i'm on the 3 network) operating system for the moment... unless you into having your head comnpletely done with crashes, re-starts, weird beeps and long noises for no reason, and freezes every now and then
I have attempted to receive data via a bluetooth connection, but I am unable to find that data on my 6280 once the data tranfer is complete. Does anybody know where it is saved to? it doesn't appear to be on the memory card. Does the card need acivating somehow?
the flash is not a torch flash, it cant be use in video capture. There is no manage calls features like in SE. The messages cant be move to sim.Hey Nokia people why dont you learn from sonny erricson. the 6270 has a torch flash and can even use in video capture the 6280 is a downgrade.
I just bought this phone. The goods: great screen and awesome resolution. Good interface, nice sound quality, good video, quicker compared to W800i (i mean games and switching between tasks). The bads: bulky, faulty battery left reporting, Poor camera (still picture) quality compared to W800i, small memory card (only 64MB included). The problems outlined by many users here seem to be due to the need of a firmware update, mine is version 3.81. Great phone if u don't mind the camera nad bulkiness.
well some phone dis is, jus bought dis phone it`s well packed convenient ,classy also got style but also comes with hitches
first 2 weeks i bought dis is my observation so far
used the radio for about 15hrs all through the day + a little of other function
the camera is supperb (good for pics taking)n also the video recording depending on the resolution n quality u set it two but the diadvantage of the video is the lights can not be turned on for recording which is bad cause night recording is out of question
the major hitch of this phone is that of the interal memory which is shared n to little..
Had to take the phone to the dealer twice for repairs within the first two weeks i bought it , transfering data larger than internal memory space available cuzed the phone to crash, trip off until reset by the dealer,
pls if anyone knows how to re route all received data via blue tooth/infra red to the memory card without it being stored in the galllery internal memory ,.....pls mail me
hey uk people its the life time opertunity
