I have had this phone for about five months, it's everything I expected but how to block someone from calling me?(like putting them on a black)
I've got the black one. My firmware is v.7.0, is it the latest one?
Actually, i bought this phone for its design. Looks classically simple n stylish. The blue LED notification is a good point here. The feature is standard. The most annoying things are the internal memory n the battery performance. In the nokia site said that it has 7.8 mb internal, n mine got 2.0 mb left. It sucks man, downloading the apps cant more than 1 mb, so i cant install dictionary which needs more than 2 mb. N the battery totally sucks! I have to recharge my phone every day. The bottomline is dont buy this damn phone. I regret purchasing it. I would not recommend this phone to buy!
reyn, 01 May 2009how is your 6300 going on? any other remedy for it's battery life? I just bought 1. For me it'... morehi reyn,
the 6300 is a great device except for the battery & sounds issue. anyways let me suggest you an alternate solution what i practice currently which im sure will address the battery issue to somewhat extent.
well im sure u'd agree that the device screen once lit (ex:after a call) takes a longer time (almost a minutes) to fade. this is one of the most critical reasons why the battery consumption is higher. What you can do is always make sure to lock the keypad soon after a call (or when u just play around) & immediately after-wards press the red key (call ending key) once. you would notice this makes the screen fade within seconds.
Additional steps you can take is :
- Switch off the screen saver
- Switch on Power Saver mode &
- Switch on Sleep mode
these would amazingly reduce your battery usage.
On a general note I used my 6300 for the last 9 months & it has proved to be a very reliable & durable device & based on some online research im convinced & planning to shift over to a 3110 Classic which is supposed to deliver almost same features plus an excellent battery life. my disadvantages would be the camera which is 1.3MP & the screen resolution ... yet as a mobile it delivers everything thats requried.
cheers people ...

Even though the phone suffers from Battery Consistency, it is a great phone with all the bells and whistles for phones in its range.
I am using this phone. It has provided all the feature that is required. I use extensively, PC Nokia sync with Outlook via Bluetooth which reminds me all calender and task, Nokia Presenter Application using bluetooth.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2009This phone totally sucks!!!It cries for charge all the time.I have to charge it twice everyday... moreOpera does work on the 6300, im assuming you have the wrong version is all and as for the battery the 6300 has an exceptional stand by time maybe your battery is faulty. Unlucky you feel this way cause the 6300 is a very good mid priced phone.
It had been the fone i always admired to have, because of its portability, style...thanks for such agreat fone. Apart from the weak battery, the rest of the feature are easy to use.

I hav to charge it tym 2 tym wen using uzzap or om. Does nokia hav a batt dat has longer standby n talk tym 4 dis unit?
I changed the original battery that came with the phone with BL-5C which has a much higher capacity. For now it seems it worked, I have much longer battery life. There is only one trick, this battery is somehow "bulkier" than the original battery that comes with 6300 (that is BL-4C), therefore you have to push it a bit in order for 5C to fit in N6300.I hope it works for you as it did for me. Cheers!
