this phone is good in everything, except the battery life....really sucks. I had to buy a charger and put in my office. really disappointing. Thrust me.
Other than that is the alarm. It allows u to set only one at a time. I mean if u need to set 2 or more alarm in a day....u can't. U hav to set the 2nd alarm after the first alarm activated.

1. is this fone's battery really that bad? if i want 20-30 msg a day, 1 hr of gaming/gprs and 1-2 small calls each day, how long wil the battery last?
2. how many messages (SMS) can this fone save maximum?
3. can i minimize any app for reading/writing msgs?
I NEED HELP!
There's one ringtone i need to get from the nokia 6300! Its a build in ringtone when u get, when u buy the phone..
I think the name of the ringtone is something like.. tiptoe, tictac, tiptop ...or something like that.
I'm almost sure it had 6 letters and was one the last ringtones u could choose on the phone!
Plz help me to find the name of that ringtone i need to download it!!
WOW this is a great phone!!!!! One of the best i have ever owned, Very thin and sleek, great features, tons of apps you can download for it!!
Nokia 6300 design is really compact since Nokia 6100 & 8210. However, the battery life is really poor and the quality of photo taking not so good as well as it claimed it has 2 mega pixel, but the pics quaility just like 1.3 pixel only.....
I think its a great phone however i have a 2gb card in mine and it slows it down dramatically , and frezzes frequently but its easy to use, great speakers, easy to use and has a very good camera but no flash the major downside is the very CRAP battery!
please dont buy this fon,,its really horrible,,,i never had such a worse fon lik this b4,,
very very poor battery efficiency,,over heatin,,hanging,,,,
ooo errr idiot fon,,,gonna mad coz of it,,,
yes m not jokin,,,
The 6300 is one of best offerings on the market for anyone wanting a device for making/receiving calls and texts. The target markets for this device appear to be several. 1. For those wanting a reliable phone for telephony and nothing else, and 2. For those like myself who have sophisticated primary devices for browsing and photography and want a secondary device for carrying about anywhere for telephony. However if you wanting a device with 3G and superb photographical abilities within this price bracket should consider the Sony Ericsson K800i, which is one of the best buys on the market at present, and which was Sony Ericsson's flagship. For everyone else who simply want a no nonsense quality mobile, the 6300 is a buy they won't regret.

However, it's NOT supposed to affect the other person from hearing you so that's strange. I have used it many times and the other person always hear me clearly.
You can disable it by going to settings-calls-voice clarity and the select off.

You say your 6300 made it with 4 hour talk time and 6 hour standby. Now... moreTo FRANK:
Every battery I have ever seen in a cell phone was made in China. Obviously China makes the best batteries.
As much as people make a big deal about China, China make products for different market segments. They make a lot of mass market products so the rest of the world can easily purchase their goods. Then they have their high-end products which caters to the middle to rich class people. Don't talk against China as if their products are inferior. In the cellular department, Europe outclasses China, which is just one exception compared to the many products that China produces.
My 6300 was made in Hungary and battery made in China. The battery is the ORIGINAL slim BL-4C battery.
The first day I got the phone I allowed it to charge for 24 hours. When I first turned on the phone I experimented with it, played games, music, viewed photos and I was able to play around with it for 7 1/2 hours straight before the battery went dead. I charged it for another 24 hours, played with it until it died again and then for a third time charged it for another 24 hours and after it died the third time I decided to charge it the normal way where as soon as the phone showed a full charge I plugged it out.
Frank, how did you go about your charging process when you first got the phone ?
