The Nokia 6300 is a nice tactile phone with great features but completely let down by diabolically poor battery life.

Good Points: Good design, fast wap, great camera
Bad Points: Battery life, hands free voice dialling. No data cable with phone
General comments: I've been given the Nokia 6300 as an upgrade from the Nokia 6320i and I'm really disappointed. Funnily enough I actually use this as a phone for business, a point that has been overlooked by Nokia in their attempt to make it appeal to texters and those that take meaningless pictures all the time. The most annoying thing about the 6300 is the voice dialling which worked perfectly well on my original Nokia using my own voice to confirm the name. On the 6300 every contact is automatically given electronically generated voice dialling which sounds like Stephen Hawking. This either doesn't recognise the name or dials the wrong number which makes it useless for in the car. Other people in our office had Ericson phones which came with data cable unlike the 6300 which uses a different cable to my previous 6320i meaning more expense. The Bluetooth works well but drains the battery even faster which means that I cannot use the phone for a full working day without charging it up. The result of all this is I've put the 6300 back in its box and I 'm using my old 6320i Come on Nokia get a grip!!!
My...my...my...6300 is exposed badly with all those comments from different sites. No further comment from my side.
6300 is a BAD Phone, my battery lasts 1.5 days even with just Telephony
Nokia has lost its charm.
the only good thing about 6300 is DESIGN.

A really boring phone. It's ordinary, nothing so special about this phone. Shine ke770 LG beats this phone in its characteristics & even though this phone is a little thin, it still looks bulky & to square.

Great phone lots of good features although battery life is not great compared to my old Nokia 6230i, mine heats up sometimes while on a call for 5 mins or more, does anybody know why & is it a danger to users. Otherwise great phone.

Loved this phone when bought it, sleek design & easy to use.
WRONG! The design is very nice but does not stand up to normal daily use. I take care of my phones but this one scratches if you just look at it.
Worryingly this phone heats up during a call & after 4 - 5 minutes it gives me a headache. I have never had this problem with a mobile before. I cannot use the phone unless I use the speaker phone.
Sorry Nokia, I loved the phone but this issue is a cause for concern, I am getting rid of it this week.
I am using Nokia 6300 last two months but still i m not able to play .mp4 file. I don't know what's the problem. Pls reply me if anybody solve my problem
I want a E51 manufactured in Hungary as well. I love the Hungarian Nokias. 1st class all the way.
Recently i purchased nokia 6300, but dere is echo wen i talk. How do i do away
Please let me know if there is any software for 5310 to block the unwanted callers. It's like adding the unwanted caller numbers to reject list and those people cannot access me at all including messaging. This facility is available on Samsung's latest models by default.
@ o.j My 6300 was made in hungary and it was the cause of my issue. My e51 has also been made in hungary. Get one you wont regret it my friend.
So aren't you doing the same thing? Portraying as if 6300 is the best perfect phone with no issues. Here in Middle East it's an issue and I did refer only to that. I am not talking about 6300s marketed and operating on any one of the networks in your Country.
Where was your 6300 manufactured ? I have a feeling it wasn't an authentic Nokia. Normally, Nokia instil the highest quality in their products and I can easily say this coming from many Nokias which NEVER ever affected me in any way and lasted until the day I sold them.
I have my eyes on the E51. Where was your E51 manufactured ?
