Can someone please tell me what is in the box that comes with the phone?
when you are using the mp3 on this phone does the battery drain out quickly?
6233 - VGA Video, Stereo Speakers, 3G
6300 - Slim Design, Stainles Steel, XpressMusic Player, 16M Display
To NICK:
The battery life is good ESPECIALLY if you don't play games.
If possible, get one made in Hungary, Germany or Finland. Where Nokia phones are concerned, the European versions are of the highest quality.

The only reason I wrote my comparison is because quite a few people compare 6233 to 6300. My comparison post is to simply show that 6300 is a better phone overall and to let people who are contemplating on buying a 6300 go for it instead of having second thoughts because of what they read here.
hi friends.. i really want to buy this fone.. for me..i m just worried about battery back up.. i dont play games, i dont listen to any songs.. and u can say i m having normal usage..i use my phone more at late night in happy hours.. so pls guys can u tell me something about battery life of this fone for my usage ? i mean 1-2 days or .... ?
@ Original Jamaican,
why do you people always have to take the 6233 to compare with the 6300? is the 6300 built to acquire the place of the 6233 or something? because i can see stuff about the 6233 as much as i see posts about the 6300! what is the point are you people trying to make? would anyone on his right mind buy a 6233 over the 6300? i don't think so!!! if you're making a comparison make it something useful. make it NEW PHONE VS NEW PHONE, not OLD PHONE VS NEW PHONE...
The AC-3 charger which comes with the Nokia 6300 takes 2hr. 30mins. to charge a completely empty battery in off mode. I got an AC-4 charge which charges a completely empty battery in 1hr. 15mins. That shaves off 1/2 the time.
Seeing that the AC-4 charger is a rapid charger, I decided to use it to charge the 6233. As soon as the 6233 battery got low I plugged in the charger and the blasted thing took 2 hours to charge...the battery wasn't empty and it took 2 hours to charge!!!
To ANGELIC:
That is true. I find that the backlight goes out quickly if no keys are pressed. I decided to test out a game and as the game started the light went out. This game takes 5 seconds to start...so I guess within 5 secs. the backlight goes dim.
6300 is much better than 6233 ive got both what annoys me with 6233 is when im reading a text an after 8 seconds the backlight goes off!argh its annoying
Hello I am planning to buy this phone. Can someone tell me what is the maximum size of memory card that can be used in this.
I have been testing the 6233 rigorously. It's a good phone, comfortable to use and feels good in the hands but the bulkiness is a let down and it feels old in comparison to 6300.
I think the speakers are overhyped. Yes they sound good and yes they are loud but 6300 pumps better stereo and 6300 is louder in some cases. None of the full length songs from my memory card plays loudly on the 6233. The volume is just ok. Whereas my 6300 plays them louder. The built in tones which came preloaded with 6233 is louder than 6300 built in tones. Also, a few short MP3 rings plays much more loudly on the 6233.
I was expecting a boom box. I expected the 6233 to play every song loud. I am disappointed.
The 6233 Music Player feels dull due to the Xpress Music player in 6300 and the functionality of the Music Player in 6300 is better by far. The 6233's screen is nowhere close to 6300's screen...that is expected though because 6233 have less colour...it's an older phone.
The 6300 may not have 3G, Video Sharing and VGA video recording but give and take the enhancements 6300 have, 6300 comes out on top.
Finally the general text in 6233 is small and there's no way to increase the font size.
Text is bigger, more legible and can easily be read on 6300 without putting the phone up in your face.
I have gotten so use to the 6300's slimness that walking around for the entire day with the bulky 6233 made me feel different.
I hope this post from me will be the end to the rivalry between these two phones.
I think this phone is great. Not only is it stylish but its also lightweight and has some great features on there...shame about the memory size though expandable memeory is always good though.
To MOMO:
You cannot adjust that feature. It's automatic. If your phone doesn't do it automatically then something is wrong with the phone.
It works for my phone everytime.
To DANI:
I had that problem too when I first got my 6300...when you use the voice record the recording was so low even though it was playing through the loudspeaker.
I was able to fix this problem by upgrading to 5.50.
With 5.0 and lower firmwares, the recording stayed on level 1 even when you maxed it to level 10.
In 5.50 the volume level was adjusted and now level 10 sounds like level 10.
The recordings get loud once you upgrade.
I now have a 6233 in my possession and I have been testing the volume loudness to compare it with my 6300.
The 6233 is a loud phone but I have mixed views.
MP3 songs I downloaded from the internet is LOUDER on my 6300. Built in Nokia tones are louder on 6233.
The 6300 speaker seems to pump more treble because music videos I encoded in mono, sounds more like stereo on my 6300 while they sound very deep on 6233. When these music videos play on 6233 you easily know the audio is mono.
I'm still testing so I will post more findings soon over these two controversial rivals.
To OMG BLAH BLAH:
Yes I agree. If you don't play games you get a long battery life. This applies to all phones.
i hav this phone in black and the sound quality is good at first it was low but as i was palying more songs it seemed to come louder
i found out that the battery is good if u dont play games like me lol as i dont play them anymore the phone battery seems to be really good
