You cannot adjust that feature. It's automatic. If your phone doesn't do it automatically then something is wrong with the phone.
It works for my phone everytime.
I had that problem too when I first got my 6300...when you use the voice record the recording was so low even though it was playing through the loudspeaker.
I was able to fix this problem by upgrading to 5.50.
With 5.0 and lower firmwares, the recording stayed on level 1 even when you maxed it to level 10.
In 5.50 the volume level was adjusted and now level 10 sounds like level 10.
The recordings get loud once you upgrade.
I now have a 6233 in my possession and I have been testing the volume loudness to compare it with my 6300.
The 6233 is a loud phone but I have mixed views.
MP3 songs I downloaded from the internet is LOUDER on my 6300. Built in Nokia tones are louder on 6233.
The 6300 speaker seems to pump more treble because music videos I encoded in mono, sounds more like stereo on my 6300 while they sound very deep on 6233. When these music videos play on 6233 you easily know the audio is mono.
I'm still testing so I will post more findings soon over these two controversial rivals.
To OMG BLAH BLAH:
Yes I agree. If you don't play games you get a long battery life. This applies to all phones.
i hav this phone in black and the sound quality is good at first it was low but as i was palying more songs it seemed to come louder
i found out that the battery is good if u dont play games like me lol as i dont play them anymore the phone battery seems to be really good

Hi to all, i'm gonna buy this Nokia 6300 Tomorrow, though i heard a lot about the battery problems but hope to find it good. My question concerns the upgrading of the firmware, how we can do that and also why? is it because of the low volume of rings?
thanks to all, i appreciate all your comments
What a slim Dream Piece this phone . All the best features which make Nokia different to other are present in it
Go and pick this Slim Dream
well don't u ever under estimate the power of SE coz SE is a meticulous company with every detail they make them special and not like nokia they say it's 1.3 MP and it looks like a VGA ... uggggghhhh ...
okay well, when i record songs and whatnot, its so quiet, even if i turn up the volume all the way and put it close to my computer or something it still ends up being quiet,
is there anyways that it could be louder?
That's how the 6300 was designed. When you press the green call button, it shows you all the dialed, received and missed calls. There's nothing you can do to change it.
i have one problem with this phone.. please if anyone can help.. Pressing green call button from standby takes you to call log instead of dialled numbers.. is there anyway i could have only dialled numbers when pressing the green button?
this is the best phone ever and i just want to tell all those crackheads to shut the hell up abouth this being a bad phone cuz its batery life is awsome
This phone is clever! Easy to use. Great software. Impressive display. Good sound quality. (also handsfree) Build quality feels good. steel on back and on all front edges. Buttons are a good size and feels good. Uses micro SD ram card.. Comes with 128 mb, can be upgraded to 2 GB. I highly recommend this mobile!!! Good value for your money! ***** 5 stars.
DINESH doesn't know what he's talking about. Ever since I got the 6300 every screen I have seen looks dull and colourless.
Recently I looked at one of the SE Walkman screens and it's poor compared to the 6300's display.
The .7 part alone of the 16.7 million is more that 262,000 so how on earth can you even think of a 262k screen looking as good or better ??????
