To Muhati subiri Henry,
in any nokia phone when you press *#06# you get the serial number right? when the serial number displays on your phone check whether the 6th and 7th digits of it are 0 and 1. if so it is made in Finland.
Many Nokia 6300 in Kenya are fake. How can I know the genuine phone. Please urgent before I burn my fingers.
Definatly 1 of the best phones by Nokia but Whats up wit this phones battery!is it th phones power usage coz every new battery i use with this phone doesnt last 2 days.
Try Nokia 6233
yes i know its a Bulky Phone but its ringtones are just Really Loud ! due to its Stereo Speakers and it also has better Centre Navigation !
Ladies and Gents, Nokia 6300 is very beautiful. Excellent screen, very easy to use, perfect size and weight. Quality? well, it's a NOKIA. Yes,its battery wont last too much but if you make some adjustments like turning sleep mode ON and Power saver ON, it will get longer.
im finding it really hard to find where you can turn the audible battery low tone and audible low signal tone on/off ? its on the voice commands but knowhere else so i never know if its on or off on either of those tones? can anyone help?
Everytime i try installing new wap/internet settings into my phone using our local service provider or the Nokia support group all it does is discard the settings and a "only 70 entries allowed" message is displayed. I cant access the configuration settings as no settings can be found. I seriously need some help on this coz my 6300 is now becoming a boring non-user friendly phone. U can contact me thro my e-mail addr. Thanx in advance
hey i think you didn't get what i said. Hacking someones phone by pairing with it is very silly. I agree with you. But as i told you, if you can get your hands on someones mobile you want to hack, you can always enter the PROGRAMMERS MENU on the phone and change a few settings. By doing so both phones starts to act like 1 but since you're the one who hacked in to the other persons mobile, your phone acts like a remote control of the other phone. You cannot find any help on the net regarding this matter. You can but those methods wont work.
I have just brought this 6300 Nokia always being a Nokia user in the past. Two things which are a big problem the ring loudness is poor even on the highest settings, and trying different ring tones. My prev Nokia was excellent in loudness, now I miss so many calls because I cannot hear it in loud surroundings eg crowds, shopping centers,in the street with loud cars noise, and in my hand bag.
The other thing which is somewhat annoying is the center button to answer calls is not that reponsive. Has anyone else found thse problems with this phone, can anyone suggest a Nokia with a good loud ring tone? I have tried to Nokia with these issue's and a big waste of time.
Good to know that you are willing to share your findings with us but everything you advised us to do have already been discussed one by one by different individuals.
I finally found a way to make my battery last longer than 2 days ...Disable all Active devices! which includes all tones (minute reminder, keypad etc),screen savers, voice clarity, active standby, etc. Autokeylock should be as short as possible. I have mine at 10seconds. I made all these adjustments and I have my battery lasting from just 2 days to 4-5 days....Disabling the screen saver alone gave me an additonal 1-2 days!! It sure works!
I'm really disappointed. I thought I would get my hands on a more newer and cunning programme from you. I already have Super Bluetooth Hack and have hacked a 6230 and E61i...after pairing with them.
It was said that those type of programmes could work without pairing and would work even if the victim's bluetooth was off as it could sniff into the phone's bluetooth address and get in behind the scenes.
I'm YET to see any bluebug / blusnarf programme which lives up to these claims.
well the bluetooth hacking software is an application you can find on the net easily. Its called the SUPER BLUETOOTH HACK. But have to be honest with you its kind of silly. I mean you can read their messages, switch off the phone, view their gallery and all sorts of things but you have to pair it with the device you're going to hack in. And thats very stupid. Well you can TRY hacking almost any phone once you get into the PROGRAMMERS MENU of the phone. Samsung phones are very easy to hack and so is sony ericsson. I managed to hack into the systems of a 3110, 6233, 6270 and the 8800 aston martin special edition. I am a mobile phone software programmer of a reputed manufacturer which i'm not allowed to tell the name. Well if you have followed mobile application developing you'll surely understand what i'm on about.
I read that exact article too but guess what, I still went ahead and conditioned my battery. I still believe in tradition because technology sometimes fail. Agree ?
I have no problems with battery life. In fact I made tons of calls yesterday and still had 3/4 battery life when I came home.
I will admit, my ringtones were on the low side when I first got my phone but I can almost swear that they are louder now since I upgraded my firmware.
My vibration has been strong enough from day one.
To be honest, I have no major complaints about this phone.
I'm like you, I like hacking and like to experiment with bluetooth. What's the name of the bluetooth app that you have ?
To L FORTI:
The 6300 being a S40 phone doesn't come with built in document viewers. S60 phones normally have these, or in other words smart phones. I'm yet to see a S40 phone with built in document viewers.
You can install 3rd party document viewers. I had a J2ME (Java) PDF viewer once but unfortunately it's not free and mine expired before I could even use it.
I don't have a need for these viewers on my phone at the moment so I haven't tried to get anymore.
You have 2 ways of downloading games into the 6300.
1. Using WAP...in other words your phone's web browser
2. Using a data cable.
If you decide to use your phone's browser try wap.google.com and search for 240x320 games. The 6300 also supports 3D games too and most of them are cool...like Super Taxi Driver which looks the same as it did on the Sega Dreamcast.
If you decide to use your PC to download games then you will need a miniUSB cable for data transfer which is a standard for most USB devices. Most digital cameras, Memory Card reader and much more devices use this cable. Nokia also sells this cable as the 'DKE-2' cable.
You can easily get free games from your PC's internet and upload them into your phone using the cable. Use Yahoo, Google or Alta Vista to search for games. Remember, in order for the games to fill up your screen they need to have a resolution of 240x320.
There are millions of 128x128, 128x160 and 176x220 games out there and if you install games with these resolutions then only a portion of your screen will be used to display the games.
When you connect the cable to your phone and PC, a message will appear on the phone screen asking which mode you want to use the phone in. Select 'Data Storage Mode'. The phone will appear as another drive in your PC, a removable drive, like a jump drive. In fact, you can use the phone as a jump drive too.
Use file management techniques like Copy & Paste to transfer the games to your phone's memory card.
In Data Storage Mode you ONLY have access to the memory card.
i am curious about your advice on conditioning the battery for the first time, since i read about Lithium Ion batteries everywhere on the internet and most of them say the same thing:
"Lithium-ion is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge. Stickers instructing to charge the battery for 8 hours or more for the first time may be a leftover from the nickel battery days."
"Unlike nickel and lead-based batteries, a new lithium-ion pack does not need cycling through charging and discharging. Priming will make little difference because the maximum capacity of lithium-ion is available right from the beginning. Neither does a full discharge improve the capacity of a faded pack. However, a full discharge/charge will reset the digital circuit of a 'smart' battery to improve the state-of-charge estimation."
"It is important to note that trickle charging is not acceptable for lithium batteries. The Li-ion chemistry cannot accept an overcharge without causing damage to the cell, possibly plating out lithium metal and becoming hazardous."
what are your reactions on these?
