Greetings. It was after a couple of months of deliberations that i zoned in on the 6300. two weeks down the line i havent really been disappointed. Battery life is just about ok (the phone will give you a day-and-a-half with moderate use of all the functions). So unless you're positively jacking off to those measly mms vids all day, the battery should not be a prob.
Music player is excellent though the camera is average to below average. Detailed resolution , even in daylight, is a joke and the less said about night-time pics the better.
Probably the worst drawback of the 6300 is the QCIF video recording. Why oh why did Nokia spoil a perfectly capable handset by not including qvga recording capability.
Is there any freaking software that will enable me to record vga vids huh?
How does it handle the 2 GB card?
Answers most welcome...
Now the good part... the phone works like charm - fast and responsive UI, the wallpapers look great, texting is a pleasure, the basica are all taken care of really well. If only the video was vga :-(

I agree, the battery life is poor. I am lucky to get 2 full days out of it with ordinary use.
this phone is the best phone i have ever had and it works perfectly for me. so if u have any problems with ur phone tell me
Does anyone find that this phone has a very poor battery life. By this I mean it does not take very long for it to run out. Just 2-3 days!? This cant be the quality that Nokia stands for can it?!
To XEESHAN (part 3 cont.):
It's NOT too wise to use a particular bit rate for every video you encode. For example, whereas 196kbps will work fine for a music video, it may NOT work well for a movie as movies are larger, hence more stress on the phone, so the playback may be a bit jerky. I normally use 128kbps for movies. I see no problems with that bit rate for anything at all I encode.
i have been using this phone and all of a sudden the phone gets switched off. pls tel me what i shud to get this rectified. also the phone gets heated if i continously use for 1hr or more. kindly advice
1. The phone does have streaming audio/video facility so internet radio should be possible...tho i have never used it. Youtube works well on this phone.
2. As far as i know there is no version of real player as yet. Yet the built in Xpress music player is more than great. For example it has all the options including Fast Forward and backward that some symbians and SE'd don't have and has good sound quality, built-in equaliser, music library, playlists etc..

Fyi the phone can store 700+ text messages. I got the inbox full error once it reached 680 msgs and it wanted me to delete more files clear space.
Very Funtastic and stylish phone. Its designed like professional. One thing is very clear that its battery life is very less.
i bought this phone yesterday in my country ethiopia,,,and i got the battery of very low quality,,,it switched of after i used it for 1 or 2 hours,,,really disgustting.

How is the 6300 compare to the 6288 in term of reliability/durability and performance? I'm planning to get a phone soon and I'm so frustrated in not knowing which one is the better choice. Help me...please!
hi can i also ask for a dictionary
just end it to firstname.lastname@example.org
Can i listen internet radio with this phone? Can i install realplayer in this phone? Someone please please please tell me. Its very important. Please let me know. It will be very helpful.
To XEESHAN (part 3):
I find that 160kbps is just as good as 128kbps in terms of speed and160kbps certainly gives you smoother video compared to 128kbps.
You can up the ante by trying 196kbps or even 216kbps at a decent enough playback speed, for the most part.
The 6300 WILL accept 384kbps and 512kbps. However, ONCE you go OVER 216kbps, be prepared for slower playback as the frame rate cannot keep up. Furthermore, too high a video DRAINS the battery more quickly as the video processor have to do more work in order to display the higher quality
