To RESINOUS MONSTER:

People always say they want this and want that in a mobile. Do you people ever stop to think that if the manufacturers provided everything you squeal about...the price would probably be too hefty for us to afford. You can't get it all in this world.

There has to be some cut back somewhere. The 6233 and 6280 has VGA video recording but yet it only stores up to 500 contacts...the REASON I did NOT buy it because the bottom line is that it's a phone and the telephony area comes first and foremost. I'm coming from a 6230 which had a storage capacity of 1,000...getting a 6233 or 6280 as a replacement for my 6230 would have been a downgrade because I had more than 500 contacts in my 6230. In life you have to give and take and move on.

The battery life is awful, other than that, a v good phone & does what is says on the tin.

Make sure you get a car charger and a spare for the office. Come on Nokia, sort it out!

Greetings. It was after a couple of months of deliberations that i zoned in on the 6300. two weeks down the line i havent really been disappointed. Battery life is just about ok (the phone will give you a day-and-a-half with moderate use of all the functions). So unless you're positively jacking off to those measly mms vids all day, the battery should not be a prob.
Music player is excellent though the camera is average to below average. Detailed resolution , even in daylight, is a joke and the less said about night-time pics the better.
Probably the worst drawback of the 6300 is the QCIF video recording. Why oh why did Nokia spoil a perfectly capable handset by not including qvga recording capability.
Is there any freaking software that will enable me to record vga vids huh?
How does it handle the 2 GB card?
Answers most welcome...
Now the good part... the phone works like charm - fast and responsive UI, the wallpapers look great, texting is a pleasure, the basica are all taken care of really well. If only the video was vga :-(

I agree, the battery life is poor. I am lucky to get 2 full days out of it with ordinary use.

Does anyone find that this phone has a very poor battery life. By this I mean it does not take very long for it to run out. Just 2-3 days!? This cant be the quality that Nokia stands for can it?!

To XEESHAN (part 3 cont.):

It's NOT too wise to use a particular bit rate for every video you encode. For example, whereas 196kbps will work fine for a music video, it may NOT work well for a movie as movies are larger, hence more stress on the phone, so the playback may be a bit jerky. I normally use 128kbps for movies. I see no problems with that bit rate for anything at all I encode.

@Auvik

1. The phone does have streaming audio/video facility so internet radio should be possible...tho i have never used it. Youtube works well on this phone.

2. As far as i know there is no version of real player as yet. Yet the built in Xpress music player is more than great. For example it has all the options including Fast Forward and backward that some symbians and SE'd don't have and has good sound quality, built-in equaliser, music library, playlists etc..
