to-wazomba and orijinal jamaican
my country is in the asian region so our country only gets 'made by nokia' 6300's.
waht sould i do shoud i go and buy it or pass on to anothner phone.
pls help !
have one of these 6300s for a few months the battery life is useless 1 day max and thats not even using it much it has the 850 battery as well loved the look and feel of phone really lovely slim phone but if u want battery life forget it people say if you charge the battery for 24 hour bursts for the first few charges its ok but thats rubbish ive done that come on nokia u can do better than that ive always been a big nokia fan yes and its made in hungary as well.
Hi i just want to ask is 6300 better than 6233 and is the sound as good as on 6233
the sound of the speaker is very very loud, only bad thing is camera, i am used to 3.2 mp but this is really useless(dont believe its 2mp either)
screen is bright and very very clear.
battery: 2 days if u do alot of phonecalls.
standby time with a couple of phonecalls 5 days possible.
however, use the features and it wont even take 1 day before the battery is empty. this is really bad, because otherwise its a nice decent phone, with good jukebox to listen music, you can download games, some simple software, if you like also books i dont know, you have Yahoo, which i do like very much, you can read and compose email, it works like on your pc, good.
it fits in your pocket, ist no brick, it has all you need, if you dont need no symbian, but the battery should be improved.
I want to buy 6300 but I am not sure about
its battery. Please help me to decide.
Nokia 6300 has very super look, style, slim , wide scrêen and soft keys. It has excellent camera pics quality. Sound quality is better than sony ericson k750i.
Got the photographs. Thanks Freind for the favour.
The 6300 is a good phone in basically all areas NO MATTER what anybody wants to see. The evidence is it being the #1 selling phone so far for the year. END OF STORY!
Thanks for the correction, Is the XENON flash in the SE phones as bright as the standalone cams, I know they are the same type of lights but I'm wondering if the standalone produce a stronger brighter light because the standalones always seem to give me temporary blindness when I look straight into the flash.
camera is nt good very poor result video is only 176/144 pixels when u take a snap with the setting of 1600/1200 pixel in the phone it looks very good but whn u snd it for print in ur pc then its orignal result comes out picture looks very dull and doty and video also looks more uglley so i my opnion is that whats a nokia said about this phone it a diffrant matter but origenally the story is absutlately wrong..........
to ORIGINAL JAMAICAN: I have to correct u on the subject of a FLASH in camera phones, the new sony ericssons camera phones r using XENON, XENON flash is what u find in a standalone camera, so phones with xenon produce excellent photos like at night and so on, im sure it wont b long bfor nokia r putting xenon flashes in their phones
Tell me what you think about the photos and video clip.
WHO else wants mail ?
PEOPLE WITH BATTERY PROBLEMS:
If your 6300 has a firmware lower than v5.00 then upgrade it to v5.00.
Ensure that 'Power Save' & Sleep Mode' are set to ON.
Try to use the default themes instead of custom ones. Even with the default themes, turn off the wallpaper as it uses power.
Turn OFF the screen saver because this will send the phone into sleep mode more quickly.
LOCK the keypad and then press the END key (red button) as this will make the backlight turn off quickly and put the phone into sleep mode instantly.
For the record I use 3rd party themese, turn of the screen saver and use the lock keypad method each time so the light won't stay on uneccesarily.
FOR ALL who DOESN'T know, with the 6300 you can load any supported file to the MEMORY CARD and open it...even GAMES!
Right now the games folder on my memory card is 47MB. With my old 6230 you couldn't load more than 1.5MB worth of games on it...and it had to be loaded in the phone memory otherwise they wouldn't be playable.
The 6300 has blown away my 6300 by 99%.
One thing I like about the 6300 is that even though it supports Midi (Polyphonic) tones it DOESN'T come preloaded with any.
Instead ALL the tones that comes with the phone are in AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) format. The AAC is Dolby Digital's compressed format. The ringtones are crystal clear, I really like the nokia tone now, you can hear all the chimes which you couldn't hear with the previous Nokias because of the limitations with the MIDI format.
Yeah Please send a video of clip of 6300
iv seen 4 6300's So Far 2 of My Uncles have 6300's and i have the 6233 they all Like my 6233 becuase the Navigation is easier ! and they say the speaker's are easier to hear(Obviously) ........i Love the 6300 its 1 of My Favourite Phones right now even tho i own a 6233 ! but i hope il upgrade to a 6300 very Sooon.......
2 Things i Love about 6300:
the *XpressMusic Player* (so much better then 6233's dull Music Player)
it has MiniUSB ! now thats Useful
16M Display (the difference can be seen with the 6233's 262K display) ..16M is better !
i just Hope i get a 6300 i Love it
For all those people contemplating whether or not they should purchase the 6300 I will give my review on the entire phone.
As I said before mine is a European model, made in Hungary with firmware revision version 5.00.
PHONE BODY MATERIAL:
HIGH QUALITY feel in the hands because of the expensive materials. Some people consider it to be like the 8000 series which is always made of expensive materials, only difference is it's like the 8000 series with a whole lot more features.
Even though it's mostly METAL it DOESN'T get HOT during calls or when it's charging.
SIGNAL STRENGTH & CALLS:
Just as any typical Nokia, the BEST in signal strength and call quality. I don't see where the signal strength is better or worse than any other Nokia I ever used. However, where calls are concerned, the voice from the other person on the line sounds clearer then my previous phone Nokia 6230. Going back to my 6230 to make a call the person's voice on the other line sounds deep whereas the 6300 gives a sharp sound clarity when on a call...EVEN when the 'Voice Clarity' feature is DISABLED!
If you have never used a S40 3rd edition Nokia before then you will find the phone book to be different. When saving names and numbers you are asked to enter first then last names in separate fields. In general, once you enter something you have to press 'Next' to move on or press the down key to go to the next field below until you reach the bottom where you have 'Save' & 'Cancel'. I rather my old 6230's way of saving contacts BUT this is not a major setback. The beauty of it is that you can select 'Close' at any point in time when entering contact information and the phone will ask if you would like to save.
The menu is fast and responsive as the average s40 phones. For this 3rd edition of series 40 the menu is more customizable. You can even customize it to show 'Active Standby' which is found in S60 (Symbian) phones.
I'm a imaging person so I'm usually fascinated by cameras, whether it be cell phone cams or any other type. The camera takes excellent photos. Very detailed and clear photos are produced once the lighting is good. If you are indoors or lighting is poor you will see some noise in the photo...they are still clear enough though.
I don't mind NOT having a flash for the camera because ALL cell phones camera FLASH are a joke. The real FLASH is what you find in a standalone digital camera.
Nokia decided not to waste any money putting in a flash because it's just a total waste!
Video recording is good, not perfect but still better than I expected...once the video mode setting is set to 'high'.
Video playback is good I must admit BUT you WON'T be able to play videos unless the resolution is 176x144. Even so, the quality of the videos are lovely ESPECIALLY if you encode them using the High Definition codec H.264. I'm able to watch DVD-like quality videos on my 6300.
The stereo on the 6300 sounds sweeeettttt, fantastic, amazing. I see it as being high fidelity stereo. You hear the bells and chimes clearly! Once, I used the headset and maxed the volume and my ears hurt shortly after because of the sharp stereo sound.
The Music Player is the exact one used in the Nokia Music Express line phones. It reminds me of Windows Media Player. The music is as excellent as it gets...as WAZOMBA said, his Sony Ericsson Walkman audio quality is the same as 6300 audio quality.
I'm yet to try the radio but it's stereo just as the music player.
Battery life is good once you DON'T use the multimedia features constantly.
That's a fairly thorough and in depth review without writing a book.
You said the Euro 6300 is P12500 and the Chinese version is P5500 which means that the Euro version costs P7000 more. As I said before, purchase whichever version you can afford, all I know is the my Euro 6300 is of the UTMOST quality.
Even if you decide to go with the Chinese version I'm sure you will still enjoy it because I haven't heard any crucial complaints like reception or call quality.
