2nd request - How to connect the cable in the 6300 phone at the rear 0f it without damage or scraching - Pls answer and do not neglet my question - i am serious - Tks
Also, it supports H.264 which is a codec used in High Definition videos (HD / Blueray Discs). When converting videos you can select that codec which can give you higher quality at a lower file size.
You and many others believe that the 6300 DOESN'T support MP4 playback. It does, believe it or not. The catch to it is that you have to encode the video using a resolution of 176x144 (QCIF resolution) which is also the same resolution the 6300 records video in, a coincidence or maybe not but whatever the case it would have been nice if we were able to have MP4 playback at 240x320, which is the resolution of the screen. Videos would have looked so much nicer.
Hopefully, Nokia will release a firmware update which allows us to encode videos in any resolution, at least the resolution of the screen.
My old 6230's screen was 128x128 and the camcorder recorded videos at 128x96 yet I'm able to play videos encoded with a 176x144 resolution. That's one thing I loved about the 6230, it accepted virtually anything you threw at it, there was almost no limit!
Nokia please, if it's possible, release a firmware update which will allow your dedicated customers to view videos encoded with a 240x320 resolution. We want to experience the true beauty of the screen in every way.
Bottomline though, the Nokia 6300 is an excellent phone and a keeper.
I finally have a STRONG SAY in this discussion now that I have MY VERY OWN Nokia 6300. For 2 years I kept my old 6230 because I didn't see anything better to upgrade to...until now.
This is not "an average phone" this goes way beyond many phones in the same class. I used it for the very first time yesterday evening after it finished charging for the first time, which was a 24 hour charge...that's right I left it charging for 1 full day. I used it non-stop from the moment I turned it on. I did just about everything you could think of from viewing photos, watching 'MP4' videos to playing games. I used the phone continuously until the battery died. I got 7 1/2 hours worth of continuous use out of the Nokia 6300 battery which many people complain about being weak and running out after 5 hours. That was only the very first charge and I got 7 1/2 hours out of it! I plan to do the same for the next 2 charges, 24 hours each. I'm sure that it will only get stronger after the next charge.
Overall I find it to be a very excellent phone. It blew me away completely. I was astounded by quite a few things...and this is somebody who's coming from a FANTASTIC 6230 which changed the mobile world. The screen is not just great it's unbelievable and viewing 3D games on it gives you the feeling that you are playing a PS1 or PS2. What more could you ask for from a phone ? It's very fast too...even though accessing the menu on my 6230 was a tad bit faster...but then the 6230 didn't handle the MMC as fast as how it handled the internal features YET the new 6300 handles the Memory Card almost as fast as it accesses it's menu and internal features. So you give an take a bit in some areas but all in all I'm 100% happy with my 6300 and I give it 100%...I don't need to see anything more to justify that rating. In other words the Nokia 6300 deserves 10 out of 10 without any hesitation.
For the record it's the #1 selling phone for 2007 and mine was made by Hungary which is far more superior than the Asian/Chinese version.
i get this phone yesterday but without the cable between the phone and the computer - the vendor said that the company did't send this cable for African countries. Is it true ? and why ? I get this cable from a friend but i find the place to enter it in the rear of the phone is CLOSED with a piece of plastic and the arrow sign is engraved on it. How can i remove it smoothly with damage or scraching the body of the phone? Pls answer me ASAP. Many thanks and i appreciate your help.
umm...syill planning to buy 1...but just to make xur wich is better 6300 or the moto slvr l9 (l72 in asia)? how can you convert the 2.5mm headphone jack into a 3.5mm socket and use any headphones as stated in one of the comments?

Yes Kenny the memory can be extended up to 2gb microSD card.
I bought Nokia 6300 last week with 128MB card and going to replace it with 2gb soon.
Fantastic phone and the battery life is not bad.
Hi. I've been using the 6300 for abt 4mnths now and am very impressed with it. my previous phone was a 6680 and I only miss 1 feature that the 6300 doesn't have. That is to suspend. As for the question abt mxit, it works like a charm with the 6300, as well as surfing the net. The 6300 can also be used as a flash disk (memory stick) for transferring files without installing software. Oh, 1 warning though, be careful with the charger b'cos the jack can break off easily, being so thin.Anyways, really cool phone plus I got a PS2 with it. What more could I ask for?
hi... is this 6300 ang expandable memory???? i really wanna have it if it is ang expandle memory cellphone.. please reply ASAP..
Mobile clarity is good .But battery life is poor .I required one gud battery packup
I've just bought one and I'm really pleased with it. Some people may find it a little basic (due to the video playback format not supporting MP4 and the fact that there's no flash or auto focus on the camera), but it's still a really good handset for the money. It's not a "me too" Sony Ericsson and not another wafer thin Samsung, it somewhere in the middle.
THE BATTERY LIFE IS NOT AS BAD AS EVERYONE SAYS!
Condition the battery on your first charges (charge overnight the first time you use it and let the battery run out fully for the first three to four charges and you'll be fine after that), don't expect it to last forever on the first charge!!!!
Camera is pretty good in good daylight and I've seen worse at night shots than the 6300. Speaker is loud and clear, custom EQ settings for the music player, fast Bluetooth data transfer (140KB/s), excellent call quality, custom message tones, expandable memory (up to 2GB micro SD, 128MB card included) and with the Nokia AD50 adaptor, you can convert the 2.5mm headphone jack into a 3.5mm socket and use any headphones! Display quality is excellent in just about all lighting conditions.
Well worth the £99.99 I payed for it on Virgin PAYG (with the up to £70 of free calls bundle offer included and £5.00 on the SIM right away to start making calls and 3p texts). Excellent!
