This is the most amazing phone i have ever owned. I have had it now for over a month, and there are no problems. It is so small, slim and sleek. The buttons work perfectly, the menu is nice and simple. The camera is great, not perfect, but this is a phone remember, and the radio is also great. If you want a 6+ mp phone, get a digital camera. If you want a real MP3 player, get an ipod. This phone is A++ if you want a stylish, fun and functional cell phone!!!
does it have a landscape mode camera???
and does it have external memory crd slot??
and does it have a macro???
plz plz plz reply!!
this is one of the prettiest phone that nokia has made, from the phone propotion, size, weight, material, keypad to the amazing screen: simple, compact and straight forward. its not a high end intelligent phone, nor a camera phone, nor a mp3 phone. after all, i use it as just a mobile phone to make and receive calls sms etc, with occasional music/ radio listening and photo taking, all the functions in the phone are doing just fine. i think its a great buy with the money we pay. the only disappointment i got is just like many others, i.e. the battery life, how great if it could last just one more day than it curtrently is under "normal" use. one last thing i would like to compliment about is the superb touch and the ingenous design of the keypad, love it. :)
i got the phone some weeks back..im pretty happy with the phone.. 2 problems 1) phone gets heated up during a long convesation 2) the hearing volume on my head set (handsfree) is miserable..can't hear anything well.. does anyone has the same problem..lemme knw..gaurangbhasin@hotmail
Ya, and 1 more thing, this "Phone not alerting when a message is received" problem doesn't occur in case the phone is in Vibration mode.
I bought this Nokia 6300 a few days back.
I have some problems with the phone.viz.,
1. The phone gets heated up every now and then when it is in use.
2. The phone doesn't alert me sometimes when I get a message (SMS).
This happens when the phone is set in a LOUD profile.
This problems really irks me.
So, if anyone here has a solution for it...
then I will be pleased to know about it.
Please recommend me what is to be done. Thanks a lot in advance.

Just sent mine back as I could barely hear any of the callers. Very muffled and had to switch sim to old phone to carry on in the mean time. Possibly a fault with only my phone, but have now opted for a Sony Ericsson
Hey if you are looking for data cables the new motorola ones will work, if there is no software in the phone box then you can download it at the nokia website. or even better then a data cable is a bluetooth dongle you & you can use them with anything that is bluetooth.
does it come in black ??? if anyone has seen a black 6300 anywhere , pls tell me . i m very desperate to make my final confirmation on this phone .
can the 6300 take 2gb micro sd cards, because some phones will only allow a certain type of card because my old phone did not take a 1gb card and the card wasnt faulty since it worked on other phones it only accepted 512mb as its maximum.
Just got this phone on contract, great phone I love it, just one complaint though there is no data cable with phone and nobody seems to stock it in the uk. Does anyone know where you can buy them.

Valentino - 19/03/2007. (Noise problem)
I have the exact problen, thawt it was a defect on the handset. shake the phone a bit and hear a loose fitting at the stop end and well a crackling noise when playing mp3s at a heightened volume
my friend d.,
i'm trying to tell you that qcif is the half of cif, that means 352x288/2 = 176x144pxs
it's a little bit more than vga/4 (160x120)but unfortunately for nokia 6300 less even than this of 176x220 which is the one step down from qvga(320x240)in most devices!!!!that's worst for this phone!!!!
I'm a happy owner of nokia 6300. I have no problem with the battery life (no bussiness woman either ;+)
for HIREN: i have No problem with the sound(not when i have a call, nor when i lsten some music on the radio..), though someone who had this problem said its solved by going MENU-->MEDIA-->Equaliser-->set the second row to minimum.
I hope it will work for u too.
