hi guys , hate to say this but , i do agree with all the negative reviews the phone has got , i got the 6300 2 weeks back and started using it , nfact also made two of my friends buy it ( and now they r abusing me ) it is actually a piece of crap , no good features and if u r presently using a symbian based phone ( and like symbian ) DO NOT change for a 6300 , the menu is stupid and crazy , a few other things to mention ,are that the battery heats up and makes the phone un-comfortable to use after 7-9 minutes , also the sound is nothing great , it does crackle at high volume , i guess the only reason the noki6300 is a big hit till now is cause nokia has launched a slim phone after years the only other phone as slim or close to this was the 6100 , anyway as someone here said its like a porche with a useless engine , stay away - get something else
cheers - ricky
ps: also did put in the bl5c , it lasts a day longer but it also heats up , and to add to it , as someone here said IT MAY BLOW UP and take a piece of your ear with it , is always in your mind , so ure always on the alert , nah - not worth it .
Yeah.... The 6300 really lousy. It is like a Porsche with a Fiat Engine.
Porsche= the cover and structure
Fiat Engine=Lousy, lousy X 40millions
I saw this phone with my friend and thought its an ideal phone for biz people. Looks are v.good. Checked with him for recommendation after his use for a fortnight and was told...STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE.
It is my first time here.
Can any one help?
I want to know what are the 2 white "thing" on the sizes of the phone for? I understand that it can be set to blink when receiving calls and charging. What else will it light up.
On mind, it blinks only when I receive SMS. Although, I have set to LIGHT ON in the profiles area.
Let me know.
I lived in Gedo, Somalia, can any one tell me if the 6300 is going to be launch here? I heard it may not.
Sad, I wanted to trade it for my Nokia N2000. Nevermind, I can always buy it over the internet!! .....but can any one tell me where to get broadband here, I am only using 56K dial up and is extremely s-l-o-w.
Simply splendid, but can anyone tell me how to use hands free with incoming and outgoing calls? Because It’s only works with radio and MP3 player.
There is much chatter about Nokia not releasing the 850 version...Or, in other words, they do not want to sell their phones in the U.S...Or - releasing the 850 version much later this year.
I hope that talk is wrong b/c this is the phone I've been waiting for.
I really want this phone, however anyone can tell me where to get the 850mhz US version? Is it even available yet? The 900mhz is all over but doesn't work with T-mobile or Cingular at least in my area. ??? Thanks.
We'd been waiting the release of the Nokis 6300 very eagerly here in Dubai. It had been out of stock since it was released. even the price had gone up, initially it was sold for
Just my last point. Firstly, everyone had wrongly fallen into the arguement by comparing 6300's batt. life with other models and even other brands.
Every model/brand of phone batt. has different capability as stated in their specifications.
We are taling about how to charge the batt. properly to obtain its optimun batt. life as stated in the 6300's specification, and should not be arguing about how much shorter the 6300's batt. life comparing with another Nokia phone or the nost silly one, compare it with that Phillip xenium batt. life!
Nokia 6300 is one of the best of non-3G phone and its batt. life is also performs or lasted as stated in its specificcation.
Not forgetting that there are some writers in the 6300 posting are "enticing" 6300 users to MODIFY their BL-5C batteries to fit into their 6300, I think this is even a more serious matter. Don't you think. Considering if the other user (who are desparate to improve the battery power) really modify the battery & not know what they are doing, the modified batteries can explode & can cause bodily harm.
So do not tell me that I can get barred from posting here. I am not asking users to risk their life.....Think about it.
its usually cold here this time of year in england but we are having a really mild winter it was 14 deg yesterday its sunny now looking out of my window so going on my jet ski soon, hope you get some warm weather in greenland soon , and see you people who have a go at each other look at me and the chap or lady from greenland people can sometimes have a proper discusion in this forum without getting agressive ,hope you all in greenland have a lovely day and take care well have to go and enjoy this sunshine on my jet ski cant waite till tonight to log back on and see what people have said about this phone all day today and like always i will defend this handsett lol see you all tonight and all the new people who will buy it today .
To my friend from England, nice to know you have a good sense of humor..... Sure, it is nice to own someting that is really cool and I think the 6300 is COLD.... (since it is made of steel.... the phone feels like ice...specially here in Greenland). I owned the 6300 and I do agree that the phone is Superb.
Of course, I am sure there are many people who buys the 6300 and love it, but I am sure there are others who disagree. But I disagree with you that Nokia personnel should get a pay rise.... (cannot predict pay rises based on 1 phone). They are already one of the best paying engineers and designers in the phone industries....Best Paid are SE engineers.
Personnally, I like the 6300 very much.....considering that I used to have a 6610, so that was a BIG improvement.
Have a good day in England.
I spoken to a Technical personnel of Nokia here in Australia, he told me the reasons that they use the BL-4C batteries on the 6300 instead of the higher BL-5C batteries (which could have been used in the 6300) because the BL-4C provide a longer lasting than the BL-5C. Due to some technical configuration of the phone, the 6300 require a more stable battery, & therefore, the 4C batteries were used. (The BL-4C batteries have a longer lifespan.....ie :- batteries normally have a lifespan of about 9 months to 1.5 years. But the BL-4C can gives about 2 - 3 years of usage.)
The BL-5C batteries are not "Compatible" to the 6300 due to the internal structure of the phone. He continued to stress that it is not recommended to use the BL-5C batteries (after modifications or otherwise) even if there are increase in usage and power, these are only temporary. The BL-5C (if use in the WRONG phones) can last not more than 5 months and users will see a "very drastic" reduction in power resulting in more batteries replacements.
correct my friend the new meaner phone will probabley be nokia 6300 i then i will be in that forum not this one telling people not to get it lol, like the people do who still have 6233, i shall get it as i wont need to upgrade i shall just buy it CASH ,but you have to admit it this phone is a good phone be honest it wont hurt you all we who have this phone will do is agree, this phone is flying out of shops ,i must defend the people who have this phone they love it and i can see why , and even with bl4c batt its good those who say its not must have only gave it a couple of hours charge on its first charge if you give it 12 hours its fine . you did not say what phone u have dont be ashamed we wont laugh , but can see one thing we all have in common we are all looking for the perfect handset.well hope you reply young man or lady , and those of you who love this phone come on say it out loud in this forum if your about to buy it you will be pleased with it , the screen is like hd for phones, if i bought i phone and it only had 256 thousand colours i would be peed of this screen amazing phone is amazing and how do i know because i have one thats why im in this forum ,nokia are fighting back with this handsett there phones have been pool last couple of years but this time who thought gave the go ahead at nokia should be given a pay rise, and the person who gave the go ahead to make the phones last couple years ago should be sacked lol if i was a nokia share holder i would be happy this year ,well not chow or ha ha ha to whoever you are as we say here in england hope you have a splendid day today and you be carefull dont want you passing a phone shop and buying this handsett do we ,so you put your sunglasses on when you walk past , oh do have a lovely day .
To all those users that think their Nokia 6300 batteries are GOOD....
Wake Up !!! you call 6300 batteries are good, Oh please !! don't make the hairs on my toes laugh....ha ha ha.
I think you all felt so guity getting the 6300 (got ripped off by Nokia....there is a ****** born every minute) that you're merely trying to console yourself thinking that the batteries are Good.
Seriously, you want to know what is good batteries.. go visit Philips Website in the Asia Pacific region and Look at the handphone. The +Xenium 9@9a can standby for 1 month and in heavy usage - 3 weeks !!!!!!. Now that is what I call Good batteries. I am a proud owner of the +Xenium 9@9a.
I am not saying that Nokia's phones are lousy, I think their phones are good, but I just feel that there are so much of stupidity (when I read thru the opinions in here) and guilt that everyone has nothing to say but the batteries.....
Get a life !!
Goodness!!!! we have the right to post our thoughts, reviews, comments, suggestions, recommendations, the good the bad and the ugly of phones. Of course, regardless of which phones we have, no one (except GSMARENA) can stop us from posting opinions here.
In fact, it is good to be able to get comments & comparisons from our model users (so we can actually compare). Without comparison, makers will not improve and naturally consumers will suffer.
You got rid of your 8800 sirocco for the 6300, makes you another stats...... you compared the 8800 to the 6300 and you LOVE the 6300. Without doubt, you have improved & matured. It makes you no different from the other guy who has the 6233. If that guy (who owns the 6233) loves the 6233, does it bother you, if the guy who owns the 6233 wants to put his or her comments about 6233 in every phone opinion in all the world, can you stop it. I do not think so.
Yeah, you post your comments, and I posted mine, they posted theirs and ultimately, we are all stats, you are no different from him or her or me or them.
Trust me, if a manner of months, I am sure there will be another phone that is Better, Stronger, slimmer, Meaner and more beautiful than the 6300, so infact it is you; who do not know what you're talking about. As there it is a NEVER ENDING STORY......Ha Ha Ha.
Chow, my friend.
Does anyone know what is the maximum SMS capacity for Nokia 6300? Can we transfer the SMS over the the MicroSD cards?
hmm... funny to see that ppl r dissing the phone for its battery life. becoz thats not the case for me. after using for phone for a couple of months (with discipline on charging), i think the battery has conditioned well and now it lasts 3-4days instead of 2-3days - with moderate talking time. love the phone. btw, the phone still is a talking point wherever i go :-)
