Absoloute crap. Battery life is shocking. Freezes whenever opening any messages (I never have more then 100 messages in my inbox, I delete regularly), when opening the camera, viewing pictures, playing music, receiving a call, attempting to charge. Anything.
No warning on low battery life, and sometimes when I take it off charge, it still has "Charging" symbol, only to die a few minutes later.
Whats the worse part though? The charger set my carpet on fire. After that, it stopped working. Now, after 6 months, the USB cable charger is now also failing. Had it fixed once, and now I'm out of warranty. Throwing it away, and getting an iPhone.
Worst. Phone. Ever.
I think the phone is perfect i have nothing bad to say its size is just right and the memerory is just the right size . And i only paid 60 pound for it lol
I have problem with my Nokia 6500c when I recieve messages (SMS's) from friends, in inbox they messages are shown by number though all friends contact numbers are saved in SIM Card ?
Does any solve my problem ?
My advice is to stay far away from this phone-its bad news. I had a Nokia 6500 classic for a month, I fell for the phone because of its looks but thats all it has! The phone constantly froze, switched itself on and off and didnt want to make or receive calls! Its totally pathetic.
I'm very dissapointed with the handset, i've only had it for 9 months and its been gone for repairs twice same problem, its does not charge not that the charger is not working but the headphones and usb cable is not working as well
Please help... I've been work out the trick to removing the sim card.... can any one tell me?
Have given up on the phone entirely
-phone overheats, then crashes after about 5 minutes every call, then takes a 2 minutes to restart...has to be plugged into charger all the time, on my 3rd battery now... thanks
I have had my Nokia 6500 classic for almost a month and I'm getting very disappointed. I have a question though. How can I fix the dates of my received messages in the inbox? Like if I get a message at 12pm it says that it was received at 9am, like three hours before. How can I fix the date? My friend has the same phone and has the same problem. Oh and what's with it restarting or shutting down radomly when I'm using it? Please reply. Thank you
its de most wonderful java fone ...gud looks ...etc..everthing is jus awesome....
Got his phone in April 08. Really love the design and even look of the phone being so slim fits great in my jeans and when I got the phone a number of friends commented on how 'thin' the phone is.!
Unfortunately I'm very tired of my phone after just 1 year. The user interface of the Sony Ericsson (my previous phone - K750i) I feel is better/faster than this one.
Opening my sent items folder takes at least 10 seconds and gets very irritating (2,815 msgs) Inbox also has noticeable delay and again very irritating (2,163 msgs). Phone randomly restarts (sometimes I go to browse a website - crash. During browsing - crash. Viewing camera images - crash. Listening to music - crash. It seems very random) and takes close to 10 minutes before I can use it again while it gets messages, contacts and media stores running. Worse, sometimes it wont' fully restart so I have to take out the battery and wait awhile before putting it back in and turning on.
Also - battery life - I have to charge my phone every night or else the next day I can't be sure I'll have enough battery left. My Sony lasted up to 5 days. I can sometimes miss charging a night, but by the next night, the battery bar is extremely low.
Reception on my phone isn't as good as my last phone - when I'm out with friends often they have reception on their phone while I have none.
Finally the camera is a huge disappointment. Taking a photo takes approximately 6 to 8 seconds - again extremely irritating.
The phone is a very nice looking phone, and has served me well, but I guess I'm just tired of it.
Can you please help me decide between 6500 classic and the sony ericsson c510. which is better for basic gsm/voice call, messaging and audio player
Anonymous, 09 Jun 2009to those who have battery problems, i think the hard shock on the battery really wakes up the ... moreits useless phone. It always hangs.its better to buy china phones than 6500.
If u want to know more about this cell phone contact me at 9699036634.
to those who have battery problems, i think the hard shock on the battery really wakes up the cells. well i one time accidentally dropped the battery to the floor while changing sims. after that the battery life got longer. now im using one full charge of battery for around 3 to 4 days. thats long enough for me since i purchased it from a previous owner its around 10 mos now since original purchase of the previous owner. another thing for those having problems with this unit, try upgrading your phone software. we recently upgraded a friends 6500c which was running very slow specially on the menu turnovers. he's got a software ver of 4.6 and we upgraded it to a 6.61 and he really noticed the increase in processing speed of his unit. by the way is v6.61 the latest version of the nokia software for 6500c. i recall reading a 9.x version in this forum. thanks
love it...had been using for over year and a half....no problem at all...used all kinds of mobile...this one is a class....built for the elites..its design, usage, features and elegance
nice basic phone for a 2nd unit.. my main unit is a n85.
purchased a used one and had it face-lifted since its still under the nokia care warranty period. changed from its original color black to natural(aluminum and silver combo) i think natural means the natural color of aluminum which is the material of the A cover or upper part cover. works perfectly. the speaker is louder than of my n85 though. the silver casing made it more luxurious. thumbs up for this unit. i have no problems with its usb charging thing. since both my phones share the same charger. i cary the n85 charger with me for emergency purposes since it has faster charging time, while i charge them with the 6500classic charger which is slower at home. basic but complete (except for wlan which i have in the n85).
