One other point. I found I had to switch 'noise reduction' ON under 'Call Settings' otherwise I had a lot of static while making/receiving calls on the MTN network. Sure that feature doesn't help battery life either...
Great looking cellphone. Only drawbacks I found was having to charge it quite often and lack of the usual Mail for Exchange. Very stylish phone and ultra-slim. You do pay for it though with less battery life than you may be used to.

Whilst the 6500 Classic certainly offers a good slim build quality, you can get SIM free and for less money the Nokia E51, a Symbian smartphone which has a fast processor and comes with HSDPA and wi-fi in a sleek metal design.
can anyone suggest any compatible battery to juice up power supply for this phone? tnx!

Anonymous, 14 Jul 2008whats beta clasic or slide cause i need a new look which is loudaSlide is louder, all round better
I have been using this phone since 3 months after throwing N73 at nokia care center. I am satisfied with this phone. I can write in Hindi. Font size is OK. Only problem is with the keypad.
I highly advise not purchasing this phone!
if you want the features just et at 6300 and a memory card..
i have constant problems with my 6500..
Continually not recieving messages, not recieving phone calls but only the voicemail.
phone continually freezing..
getting phone replaced for a new one, will keep you updated on phone quality!
Good simple to use mobile. It also has good music capability.
Slim stylish and suprisingly cheap. but not a mobile to be ashamed of.
More of a kids phone as the music quality is good for them.
if u talk more than 10-15 minute is getting really hot. unknown reason but it heats up verry fast.
a little bit expensive for its low features
differences between this one and 6300:
-1 gb internal memory
-no card slot
-flash on the backside
the rest of the functions are the same. same phone same software same same same and much more expensive.
have we mentioned the battery? we do now... the battery! :)
A day before the iPhone was introduced, I met this beautiful, slim 'phone. It's really simple to use, fantastically designed and has days of battery life. Great 'phone all round
I don't see what's the problem with all of yours Nokia's, but I know I don't have any problems with mine.
The battery lasts for 3,5 days in spite of my so-called addiction to listening music, playing games and talking.
And every time someone looks at it is stunned by its beauty...
I hope I didn't jinxed mine by doing this :P
P.S. For the first three times, I charged it for about 12 hours and so...
