The bronze version is going to be released FEBRUARY 2008.
Consider this to be frighteningly "quick", because if Nokia had taken the equivalent amount of time they have taken to release the black version, you'd probably be looking at Easter 2009. The useless tw*ts.
This phone has been released in the black colour, but can someone tell me when is the bronze going to be released?!!?! The bronze is much nicer!
how could this be same as 6300?
this one has
-S40 5th Edition
-has a LED flash
-longer hour of talk-time
-much thinner @ only 9.5mm VS 6300's 11.7mm
-much better design & materials used
but this one has NO built-n radio
Man, I'm so disappointed then... I'm not going to get one in black, so I will have to wait until next February? This is crazy! Silly Nokia. Yeah, I haven't seen Bronze in shops either...
Gr8!!! soo slim and light and feeling so damn solid. i was delighted even more when i was able to see the graphics on the screen so clearly under bright outdoor sunlight...
I think an even more important question is why it has taken this long at all.
The phone is basically the Nokia 6300, only in a different case.
In my opinion, Nokia completely screwed up the marketing plan for this phone, which is why it has taken forever and ever to be released. Even though it now has been released, it is only avaialable on one operator, with severely limited availability on two others.
From what I have seen, the bronze version is planned (as is usual with different colours_ to be released in a few months time, just to bolster sales once again.
It looks like the bronze coloured 6500 will not be available until FEBRUARY of 2008, which is f*cking ridiculous. I would look for something else to show Nokia that such poor business models cost money...:
Hello everyone, I have been very disappointed, has anyone at all gotten bronze version. All i see around on the net is black black black and one site said that they will have bronze only in stock by end of october, i cannot wai tthat long.
Is the bronze going to cost more? are they using real bronze or soemthing why is it taking longer to release a different color
It is classed as a "fashion phone" and as such commands a fashion phone price.
Plus the price will probably halve in two months time...
Any of you seen the bronze floating around? I saw one place for around $730!
the phone is great, but that's an absurd price.
just see in mumbai its 20000/ phone is good but prise about 14000/
20K in greenhills??? that is sooo expensive!!!
i saw one @ P18K on ebay philippines.. but its still xpensive though. anyway, i think the price will just drop immedietly in just weeks after the market is flooded w/ this phone and other new releases.
omg i just carnt believe how good this phone is i luv it like a girl friend
phoneslimited.co.uk is a price comparison website, not a stockist.
The links go through to CoolNewMobile - aka phoneboxdirect.
Isn't it strange how the above company is the ONLY supplier in the country to have the 6500 Classic on Networks which are yet to even release the phone?
A quick internet search will show you why you shouldn't go anywhere near the above company as well...
Which leaves the big three highstreet brands, direct from the supplier (which is ALWAYS bad value for money) or e2save/onestopphoneshop (both owned by CPW) or mobiles or mobileshop.
None of the last four - which are all online based and offer the best contracts (and don't f*ck you over) - have the 6500 Classic on any operators other than O2, Virgin and Orange if you look hard enough - all of which are very, very, very poor value for money when compared to T Mobile or Three.
So as I said, the wait continues... I am no where near desperate enough to get this phone asap after a two month wait on a desperately-outsourced, rip-off network like O2 - nor am I willing to get screwed over by a bunch of cowboys like coolnewmobile...
I really like the 3 pick and mix offer!
The problem is that, I currently dont like any of their handsets :(. The range is quite limited.
But if they had a wider range of handsets, I would love to join 3.
It is really value for money!
Waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting...
And then it's finally released and is only available on one network out of four - with the other three not expecting the phone until the mid/end of the month, for some bizarre reason.
So the wait carries on. Which I just cannot understand considering there is absolutely nothing special about this phone - apart from its size and its looks - it is basically the 6300 in a different case. So its not like there were major software issues or anything.
Never have I waited for so long - since the middle of August expecting a late September release. Now it looks like my rather sad, loserish waiting game is going to stretch well beyond two months.
And O2, the only operator currently carrying this phone, are complete balls - the contracts they offer are expensive for what they are, and their mobile-internet bolt-on offers a pitiful 200MB "unlimited" usage allowance.
Three are still by far the best value. And T-Mobile would be up their with Three if only they didn't charge you for voicemail retrieval.
And to further scar the reputation of this phone, it doesn't look like it will be released on Three, which means a long, drawn-out and completely unneccessary wait will be rewarded with a rip-off, bullsh!t contract.
I think we should just all settle for something else from a different brand to show Nokia that a long wait = a short sale. The useless c0cks.
i saw the phone 4 about 1300 Saudi Riyals
(346)$ US Dollars$$$
cheap comparing with the malaysian post
Now available in Austria, 419 euro ( start price ) http://www.saturn.at/start.html?klabSessionID=cf0e6ba2b1e7218d69521d253037c1cdPj3k9ed5
This handset was just released in Australia last week for between $400-$600 depending on the retailer. On the first day the handset froze while trying to access various applications, notably when opening MMS messages. Battery very good so far, but I've yet completed the 2nd charge cycle. USB charging will only accept Nokia charger. It will not charge from Motorola, Blackberry or O2 USB chargers. Design very appealing in Black. 8 out of 10 for a BASIC 3G handset without VIDEO CALLS and HSDPA.
