N73- video call (very good); photo (ok, but like a vga)
6500s- video call (very good); photo (not available, at least I didn't yet find a way to do it)
back camera - photo:
N73- excellent for a 3.2, but I never updated my phone to a 4.XX firmware version, so I don't have the 'blue tint' some say appeared with the 4.xx firmware.
6500s- excellent for a 3.2 outdoors, but only 'regular' inside (doesn't get grainy or anything, just lacks a xenon flash instead of the led one, imho).
back camera - video:
N73- videos are in high-quality mpeg4 format (which I prefer), but uses a low resolution of 352 x 288.
6500s- videos are saved as 3gp, at a maximum resolution of 640x480. The result is very good outdoors.
The thing that I don't like about the camera of the 6500s is that it doesn't have a cover like the N73. But it's not all bad: the battery cover protects the actual lens with a plastic piece. So, if it gets scratched, you can get a new battery cover and all is fine again.
Just remember that a mobile phone can't be compared to a new generation digital camera ;)
I'd say that, if you like the S40 phones, get the 6500s.
But buy from a known, serious seller, so you can take it back in the first weeks and get a new one if you have any problems. I've heard that some come out faulty. Mine is OK for now, but I still have a week left to test it. If it has any problem at all, they'll give me a new one right away. After two weeks, if there is a problem they'll send it to Nokia Care.
If you have any more questions, just ask :)
