I am now on my 2nd... and not entirely happy.
Within 2 weeks my 1st started playing up. It would freeze, lag and restart itself. I never had a problem with it resetting themes and profiles though. The top half of the key pad is what made me elf it. Within 2 weeks of daily use the upper keypad creaked all the time when in use. So i got a new one....
It's 4 days old and i'm having more problem's with it than my 1st one. It's resetting themes and profiles. resets itself while transfering files using bluetooth. and now today, a 4 day old phone has started creaking!
Neither of my phones were ever droped, i dont put anything else it my pocket with it cos im scared to scratch it. In my opinion there is a build problem with some of the chinese handsets as i have hear of others with europe built handsets who have had both say the euro version is so much slicker in its opperation.
This phone deserately needs a new firmware version!!! I hope Nokia is listening.
you are right HM , but are u sure that this is the only thing that makes profile resets?? because the profile was reseted and the phone was on my desk ... i don't know, anyway i moved some files on the phone memory.
Help me ...
I had Nokia 6233, it was realyyyy good phone,

tanx ray.u r the only one who could help me.cuz i have the xact point of view like yours.the only difference is that i bought n95.and i cant say im not happy with it.but from the first moment i loved 6500s.and i want to change my n95 after 5 month to it.i know it may not sound like a logical thing to do.but ia think its a mixture of 8xxx and N series of nokia, which is great.
the only thing i'll miss if i buy 6500s would be the cool 2.6" lcd of n95. i hope i get used to 2.2" of 6500s soon =P
again tanx ray
I have figured out why the wallpaper defaults back to original when you take the back off. The button that releases the back case also acts as the hot swap for the memory card. You will see that you are unable to access the memory card once the back case is off, the icon comes back when you put the lid back on.
Hope this helps.
Truly great phone

I want a genuine opinion...
Its looks good but its hang up some time even while conversation continues.. Poor talk time.
www.mobile-review.com last night did a review of the slider an it sounds out to be a very good mobile i wish Nokia would have made it one of its "N" mobiles an this would have been alot better with the sofware an camera on it as its about the best slider Nokia as produced for some time
I used this phone once, and it gave me aids. Yeah, that's right; AIDS! Thanks a bunch Nokia. How do I tell my kids? Do you have a software update to help me with that? Somehow, I think not. Again, Nokia drop the ball with their customer care.
i hope anyone can tell me .wat is a firmwire .i need to noe hope u dont mind
The 6500 is slightly thinner than my previous 6280. I almost went with the N95, however it seems to suck up alot of battery for what it does. What i really want is a phone capable of a few snapshots and easy to use. Without over complicating myself with a symbian based phone, the 6500 is an immense pleasure to hold and use. The finishing is one of the best, yes there aint S60, super camera attached. This phone ain't no slouch at all.
The weight and touch to it is well beyond the memories of any phone i have own. I used the earlier 7610 and 3660 earlier symbian S60 that gave me nothing but problems and extra software that i hardly use. S40 is plentiful imho.
Coming from a similar 6280, i plunged into the purchase despite all these ill comments here. Somehow the inability to read profiles from the memory card is apparent with the 6280. The quick way around this issue is to upload into the internal memory. That includes ringtones and wallpaper aside the themes alone. The response lag when sliding the phone is an urban myth its not 3 secs long rather it feels like 0.5sec
I am loving mine... Amazing phone, i will buy it again.
I have put the sounds that i use like alarm, text, ringing tune etc onto my phone memory.
I have put all my themes onto my memory card, when i decide which 1 i am going to use i then move that 1 only over to my phone memory whilst i use as a theme, when i change my theme i transfer it back to memory card & pick another theme to move across to phone memory, this way the phone memory will not get full up & this solves the problem of the default theme keep resetting.
thanks Serenehsy but the phone memory is too small ...:( i thought that it is another posibility . thanks anyway
you try to put all your setting files like songs, wallpaper or theme into your phone but not in the memory card.
My brother wants this phone, but he only wants the Euro version.
If anybody has the Euro version, can you let me know where you got it?
