Bought 6600 today, beutiful phone. Taken me weeks to decide between this nokia 6600 and the Sony Ericsson P900. the p900 is a far better phone no doubt about it but bought 6600 because its smaller really. The Worst thing about the 6600 is that it doesnt have an Mp4 Player on it, where the p900 does. Also that the 6600 only records 9secs of video. Besides that its one hell of a phone, great to play snake on!
could anybody please mail or tell me the url to download the software for unlimited video recording on nokia 6600
Dudes, and Dudettes alike,
I own a 6800 and I'm truly pleased with what I have.
No 65k display? What can I do if I had it? I just want a color display phone. And 4096 colour screen are COLOUR SCREENS just like the 65k screens that work just fine. I'm satisfied.
What, no Bluetooth? Nokia sucks? Come on... I do NOT want to use Bluetooth in the first place. I just dont need it.
Qwerty keyboard? Now thats something new. But is that what i really want? Hell yes,i do.
Design? Wow. this is new. Is it in fashion? It may not be. Is it classy? It maybe. It has an attitude. Unravel Mr.Qwerty when you need it. Perfect...
And whats with the SonyEricsson vs Nokia and other manufacturers being No1 bullshit? Whats with the anti-Nokia, anti-SonyEricsson bullshit? Does it satisfy you guys to have a phone that is manufactured by the No1 manufacturer? Honestly it would for me, but the bottom line is, the fact that you may have the best phone DOES NOT make you the best.
So bash whoever you want, cos it's you who are the blind one.
And for the record, I am both a Nokia fan as well as a SonyEricsson fan.
I have the T610 and Nokias 7110 and the 6800(Current mobile).
Have a nice day.
It is a good hand set I ever saw. At the moment it has best camera and camera funtions among all the camera's mobile phones.
It's no doubt a goog phone from Nokia. 2 major setbacks though, first being the non-availability of auto keyguard & secondly is the absense of timed profiles. These functions should be standard like the previous models. Sometimes the call log gets jammed too.
ı'm a 6600 user.but ı couldn't enaugh program for downland.and nat enaugh games.ı would lıke a mp3 player including.and ı m from turkey. not enaugh knowledge about softwere in this country.and nokia site not including turkey.that's strange because a lot of nokia users are.some support please.thanks for your site.
You can change covers but the shop has to open the phone since it isn't XPress On covers. The latest firmware is 3.48.0.

I think this phone is to big and samsung E700 is better than every other camera phone.
Wich software version is the best ???
I m using the 6600 in Romania on orange
when i try to enter the wap via GPRS the G begins to spinbut no page will be displayed could it be that orange Romania doesent support wap 2.0 , they dont have the exact setings in the store I made them using the 7650 setings.
To all 6230 fans, please don't start thinking about the phone for several reasons... First, it has a lousy 128x128 pixel screen!! It is very small and the camera will look ridiculous on it even if it is 65k colors. 6230 isn't even Symbian operated... Guess 6600 is still the leader. =)
MMS and GPRS work perfectly in this phone. To set up MMS/GPRS, go to
Create a new access point, fill in the details, then press Options>Advanced Settings.
Go to Proxy serv. Address, and enter the Gateway IP in there. Then you need to enter the Proxy port number. For Vodafone UK it's 8799, and for O2 UK it's 8080. For most networks I think it's probably going to be 8080.
Go to the main menu, go to Messagins, then press Options>Settings>Multimedia message, and make sure the Access point in use is set to the MMS access point you created.
Any further problems, email me. I work for a mobile phone service providor and set up dozens of 6600 phones every day.
It's a really sweet phone. The only small products that can take my entire MS Outlook details. The calender information is sync's smoothly. Pity the To Do functions do not sync unlike the 9210i. Contacts sent from MS Outlook go into the Nokia. However, user's bear in mind that in the Nokia if you save 2 mobile nos only the first will be sync'd to MS Outlook. This is a limiatation of outlook. However, the other hick up I noticed was that when you send nos from MS Outlook to the phone the nos are stored in the following format. eg, +971 (50) 1234567. This is the international format. In the 6600 the number is rcvd correctly. however, I noticed that the delivery report log will not identify nos after the area code if the cell phone no is 6 digits or less. This is not the case with the logs in the other areas. The othe big down side is that when you rcv a sms it show the last name first and the the first name even when the first name last name function has been set correctly in the contact field. My verdict, A new software update taking care of some of these issue is needed fast. This would then make it the perfect phone.
