you got 2 b kidding comparing this baby with the 7600!
i want to know what is better 6600 or 7600 i dont know what 2 buy
It's true, but given the bundled apps its normal for the phone to behave in such way. Let's just wait for the new s/w release which would definitely address these issues. Nokia has been always known to do this.
I've been lookin forward for this phone for so long and now, that I've got my hands on one of 'em, I'm litterally depressed! The menu is little to say crappy! It's FULL of bugs and glitches! When one changes from one menu to another, pieces - yes, GRAPHICAL PIECES - of the former are still lingering on the screen for a second, not to mention the delay. And another one: turning the phone on is matter of luck - either it freezes or it takes up to 1 minute for it to start and the start-up tune is truncated as if some mad DJ were performing scratches with it! Physically, the battery cover is extremely flimsy and the camera lens was born to be scratched... Now, I've been thinkin that this might be a one-handset problem, but it turned out that every single one I tried (made in Finland, keep that in mind) acted the same! So, Nokia is taking us for fools again and is beta-testing on customers! Oh, and for G's sake, why is there no Pop-Port on it? Maybe some of us, old-fashioned geeks would like to connect it via data cable instead of pairing the damned thing and spend even more money on Bluetooth or IR adapters! I'm more and more convinced that Nokia has started to rely on its name for selling the products, rather than quality... But how long can a reputation be kept if not maintained and backed-up by facts?
Even thu its big but i still find it unique and user friendly...
It is for $480 now with international warranty. You can buy a second battery for $25.
what is happening with batteries?it's very good phone.in greec it costs 534euro.
but how long does the battery last?it's problem this.if u go to a trip it won't hold lot.what can you say about this
hi
I wolud like to ask about Nokia 6600
thx
I may be wrong, but I think the MMS glitch is happening because, MMS is being sent via WAP... and since most asia-pacific providers do not support WAP 2.0 (which is what 6600 has) you are doomed, untill you'r provided upgrades...
I think this is not the fault of the providers, it is NOKIA's fault, they knew all along that most of asia-pacific network providers does not support WAP 2.0, why then they did not made this phone backward compatible? all 6600 should either petition your provider to upgrade and support WAP 2.0 or petition nokia to come up with a new firmware to make the 6600 backward compatible to older WAP
To Unknown, I mean the FM Radio.
The little plastic thingie below the camera is made to protect the camera when you put it on a surface. You can easily SMS with a hand. It's very enjoyable to hold the phone, like a perfect fit.
all who owns 6600,
can you use 1 hand for txt on this baby, like 6310 and 3310 am a man with big clumsy thumb, small nokia like 8310, i can not txt using 1 hand... could you give more info on actual battery life while continously using it for MP3, playing games, and camera, etc.... i mean as in non-stop usage and very few standby
Hi, I'm also planning to buy 1, has anyone tried to install a software like dictionary?
By the way, when you transfer the photo image onto your computer, it will be the size of 640x480 pixels. I think it's quite OK. Thanks again!
Just bought this wonder a few days back. GPRS works fine, no problems in browsing web pages. Only glitch is the MMS service, but this is the service provider's fault. They're working out a solution. Thumbs up to this model, another milestone for nokia.
I just bought 6600 last week in Thailand (Week 46). It's nice with all features e.g. camera, video recorder, and so on. Sorry to anybody who wants FM Radio bcz it doesn't support. MMC Card is 32Mb standard, but you can change. Anyway. with this size you could save image of up to 400 images. There are 3 major modes for photo i.e. Normal, Portrait (small), and Night. Price in Thailand is around THB19,700.- or around almost USD500.- One thing I don't like is that the camera lens doesn't have any cover. So, be careful when you grab it out or put it on the table. For me, I bought it for business purpose, so it'so quite fulfill most of my demand. Data could be transfered through IR or BlueTooth. Thanks!
Hey guys, anyone can tell me how much is the price of this unit (Nokia 6600) thanks.
@devil,
"the Radio is lame", do you mean FM radio or the reception radio, since in some countries they also call it "radio"... nokia is not known to have reception problems, this is 1 of their strong points even with a hidden antenna, kindly elaborate
Ok, the MMS sends fine, the WAP/GPRS doesn't work on some Telecoms. The phone is great overall, you can flash the new version when it comes out. The Radio is lame since it is a business phone.
