i agree with most of the comments here tbh.
the symbian operating system is so flexible that you can just install most of the modern features that phones have today. okay you cant change the hardware but its still a bloody decent phone even today.
I have the Nokia 6600 since 2004 and it works Perfectly
6600 the most amazing mobile that i've ever had...this is my 3rd handset, but the first handset that i bought by my own money...i really waited for this phone before i've decided to replace my 3310...(well in fact my 3310 is still working 'till now..good one too).. i always check this 6600 thru the internet way back 5years ago before it was released on 2003...imagine i bought this 28thousand before...gosh...but hey its really worth it...im still using now though i already have the latest mobile now...for me...theres no other Nokia could replace the durability or the toughness of this phone...even the battery, i havent change it...been using it for years...though its lifespan only 2days and 1night depending on the talk time....and i think thats the only problem that i experienced....the battery runs out after 5years...hahaha...

i had this fone last august 2006, but i lost it after one year.. the joystick of this fone after 6 months starts to break!!. It has only few features and when you install some softwares, it makes the phone go slower, and when sending messages, it takes two minutes.
i have been using this phone for more than 3 yrs, dec 2004, and the only prob i have is about the joystick, the directional left is no longer responding. yet overall, it is a great phone with lots of available applications. and it is sturdy too, mine fell a lot of times, yet still works.
it's the best fone for hack because have symbian 6 and don't create major probleme.
Before when I was a student, Im eyeing for this fone, it is sooooo cooool,, love it, but then now im working better buy 6233, much2x better than this, but i want this as a secondary phone, nice design indeed, if only my 6233's design was like this i could never ask for more,, Yeah!

phone is a good first phone it has a camera bluetooth sms mms and pretty much everything youd want. never ever let me down
The 6600 was the first phone I had, in feb 2005 , it was lost in dec 2006.
Bought a Nokia 2610 wanted a cheap phone.
2610 is more than just a phone, it's a great organizer /alarm /notebook and voice notes.
No complains there.(Only display not visible in sunlight/outdoors)With speeddial, that problem can be easily overcome.
Now I own a Sony Ericsson k550i,(for less than a week) still getting used to it.
Nokia 6600, was an excellent phone, never had any problems with it, had a bundle of software installed, could record audio/video limited by the memory's size only, pictures printed great on the normal picture 10x15 format.
overall it's a strong, sturdy, reliable phone, specially if you have kids around. just get it the metal cover with the belt clip and believe me you could fling it to the wall and nothing will ever happen to it.
overall, it's still my favourite phone so far.
Suggestion, with proper software, this phone still posseses a threat some of the newer models today.
the 6600 operating system is very flexible and can be suited for most operators needs.
Thank you Nokia.
