light flickers out beacuse when ur battery is low when u make a call the uplising transmitter in the phone requires 2.9 volts if the transmitter gets normal voltage light will not flicker if the battery is low light will flicker or short out.
i notice the dim lighting before the phone completely lights out,but are u sure the backlight would flicker as if a powersurge..u know like a bulb shorting out...btw..thanks for helping me out :)
To the one who asked about the flickering backlight, yes it is normal, i actually find it cool, it sort off dims first before going out,,, take note too that the phone has a light sensor so the backlight adjusts in bright and dark areas...hope this helps :)
i own nokia 6630 this is agreat phone with faster processor n most of the time i used for listening mp3 n playing symbian games i ever used 3rd party software games which some of them can be play n the lacks radio n the mp3 not as loud compare to sony ericsson or motorola n the battery drys out fast listening to the mp3 the best thing about the phone 1hr video recording n theres a 3rd party software which u can edit ur videos n be a director of ur own producation movie which cost u less than hollywood movie makers so i recommend this nokia 6630 is 1 of the best compare to early nokia phones :)

The difference between mono and stereo
Stereophonic sound systems have two or more separate audio signal channels where the signals have specific levels and phase relationships to each other. When reproduced through a suitable system there will be an apparent reproduction of the original sound source(s). Stereo can replicate the aural perspective and position of instruments within a band on stage. A listener's proximity to a speaker or speakers of a stereo system will often determine which instruments or tones they will hear. stereophonic - Of or used in a sound-reproduction system that uses two or more separate channels to give a more natural distribution of sound.Stereo audio uses about twice the bandwidth of mono audio because of the two separate channels, with much of the information duplicated on both channels. MPEG audio can use conservative methods to maintain audio quality but reduce bandwidth by retaining only the audio information perceived as important to the stereo image.
Mono or monophonic -
A system where all the audio signals are mixed together and routed through a single audio channel, or
Sound produced by a system in which one or more microphones feed a single signal-processing amplifier whose output is coupled to one or more loudspeakers.
A mono signal output through two or more speakers will still be mono, as the same content or audible information is being produced by each speaker.
monophonic - Having a single melodic line; monodic.
