            Nokia 6630 supports POP/IMAP(incoming) with SMTP(outgoing) mail.
I am using GMX POP3 Mail http://www.gmx.net/ with it...but never tried G-Mail from Google. G-Mail supports SSL and uses different port addresses for POP and SMTP. G-Mail can be configured in mail client software like Outlook. But in Nokia 6630, port adddresses can not be changed. There is a support for secured login(SSL/TLS), but POP3 with SSL or APOP uses port 995 by default(this port G-Mail supports. In SMTP with SSL/TLS default port is 25 (G-Mail sopports 465). I am not confirmed it will work or not...you can try it.

GMail settings are given below :

            POP server: pop.gmail.com
            Port: 995
            Require SSL: Yes
User name: your Gmail email address (i.e. user@gmail.com)

            SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
            Port: 465
            Require SSL/STARTTLS: Yes
            Require SMTP authentication: Yes

Please try it...if it works...kindly find your valuable time and inform me through mail.

            Have a nice day

              for Abdul Sattar Khokhar

Battery life depends on different condition...
              1) Full backup time can be achieved only after two or three completele charge and discharge cycle for a new battery.

2)Battery will drain lot if the Network repection is not good (if all the bars of the Network indicator are full, you can get more talk time rather than one or two network bar

              3) 11 days means maximum standby time...not talk time. It means, you put a SIM card on it in a full network coverage area...without getting any incoming call and any outgoing call (it is a test configuration like autobiles fuel consumption, it is not the real life hours). Talk time is only 3-6 hours (in a continious talk, and also depends on the network signal strength)

4)If many applications are opened at the same time it can drain your battery power and slow down your phone. To check how many applications are opened at the same time...press down the MENU button for two seconds...and you will get the list. Then select the application and choose CLOSE or EXIT.

Your backup time is normal. I have to charge it daily. If you hear music, search online, let your friend play with it or getting your PC connected through Bluetooth you'll get less talk time.

Be careful when downloading and using uncertified applications, cause it may contain virusses. Some virusses are programmed to drain the battery. So purchase a mobile security software and protect your phone.

I spent a lot of time, researching about the best mobile phone I could afford. I am glad I chose Nokia 6630. Now I have been using it for about a month and have a couple of comments. Battery life of about 10-11 days has been claimed for this phone. So far I have seen that it does not last for 2-3 days max. I kept Blue Tooth on for first few days, and that resulted in premature battery drain. I shall be grateful if someone could tell me how to improve the battery life for this phone. I looked up the issue on the net and discovered that switching from 3G to 2G helps to improve the idea, but I have no idea how to do that.

I have downloaded and used some software from http://www.getjar.com Others users may like to visit the site too.

                                for Mangs...
HS-2R is fully compatible with Nokia 6630...it is a hardware device built in FM receiver and LCD display. For your kind information, this attachment device supports stereo while hearing FM and you can play your all time favourite collections in any format this phone supports.

                                  Hi all N6630 Users,

This query is specially for N6630 + HS-2R users.

I checked with 2-3 shopkeeper about HS-2R. They say it is not compatible with N6630. Can any one tell me your own experience who has HS-2R. Is it working with N6630? Is it working as 1] stereo FM? 2] Can we play MP3/wav/ogg etc on HS-2R?
                                  FYI - My N6630 Ver. 5.03.08

Experts (MrigankP, Naveen Rawat, Real Penguin, Guru, BuBu etc.)comments please.

                                  Thanks - 6630'Total Entertainer
