I forgot to post my opinion for the 6630!

I was split between choosing the 6630 and 3230. Functionalities-wise they were more or less the same except for the 3230 has PTT and an FM radio. The 3230 on paper provided better value for money since it was cheaper than the 6600 by at least 30%. I compared the 2 side by side here at GSMArena and if I order phones on the web I would have bought the 3230 hands down.

Since it was a very expensive purchase I decided to hit the stores (Greenhills) to get a feel of the phones. And I am just glad I did. The feel of the 6630 was much better than the 3230 which felt very plasticky and looked like it was stolen from an SE design board. I'm a design guy and I think the 6630's design is a winner from the unapologetic large camera lens at the back to the sensous curvature of the bottom. Considering It looked like a stubbier version fo the 3650 series which I considered to be the ugliest phone ever made, reducing it's length by 3 inches made it more attractive.

I'm from the Philippines and I just bought the 6630 last Friday. I am using Globe, TOuch and Smart networks alternatively but I use Globe primarily.

I would appreciate any help especially from users from the Philippines.

I have trouble sync-ing my phone with the PC. There seems to be no option for USB when I set up the connectivity manager. The manual says I have 3 choices "Web,Cable,Bluetooth" but my phone only has "Web and Bluetooth". I bought a bluetooth device and then I find out the PC Suite doesnt have Bluetooth sync-ing option for connectivity. The Bluetooth device is now just good for sending files to my phone (I should have just bought a card reader). I really need to have it synced with my PC to take advantage of the PC Suite functionalities.

How do you check the version of the phone?

I will appreciate any help you can extend me.

i have a little complaint about Nokia 6630.

my handset before was 6600 and whenever i transfer files (from pc to phone) using the PC Suite like sound files it reduces the size incrediblly. But how come it doesn't happen with 6630? its the same size when it was on pc. great deal of memory can be saved. tsk.

      anyone experienced this?

Yeah I'm happy with my 6630 (apart from the small fonts).. now I've sorted the 3G problem.. no thanks whatsoever to Vodaphone UK. I downloaded 'net monitor' which enablesd me to switch off 3G

Excellent 'phone. No gripes with it at all. My firmware comes up as 4.03.18. Got 6630 from Carphone Warehouse in Finchley, north London on 8th April. Bought a 256Mb RS-DV MMC from http://www.mobymemory.com for £29.95, and can carry a decent amount of stuff around with me. Please, that is NOT a commercial for them, just the cheapest I could find! All-in-all, it is a rocking 'phone, and I've had no problems.

There was a big recall in feb/mar in the uk for this phone due to software faults. If you buy it now it should be updated to V.3.45.113

                                        Go to symbian-freak.com.
You can download 'net monitor' from there & use it to switch off 3G.
