it all depends on what you expect. if you want a good phone with a good camera and video recording functions, this is it!
if you want funky features or think that you pay so much you need to use every feature to max, it may disappoint.
to me, it is a good phone. being expensive has a bit of snob appeal but for me it really has not let me down.
Obviously, there are those for and those against the 6630. so there you go, one man's meat is another man's poison.
information about the phone is good before you buy but i think you should decide whether you want to buy a phone or not, and not let others decide for you. make sense?
Hi, Nishant don't buy Nokia 6630. My phone firmware is V 3.45.111, and the phone have reception problem, really, very very bad. For me, the phone is the failure of Nokia.
i am very confused for purchasing this phone. can anyone help me? some says that this is the failure of nokia, while some says it is a good one. compared to 6600 and 7610 models of nokia, can i buy it?
please following things to solve your problems
upgrade to latest version of software 3.45
chnage net work mode to gsm from dual mode and your battery life will also increase and close all the applications which run in back ground and also sofwate 3.47 has been released but it is still not stable what we have news from nokia it self so just wait that software to have bugs cleared or revised file to be updated and also let battery be discharged and then charge completely see u get more battery back up then charging from in between
when u want to use net on cell please select the access point manuaaly and surf the net if poossble try to use phone in built software and also that works very much fine and also clear the cahe memory always when u finish the surfing and also i have obeserved that what ever data u transfer with the help of blue tooth becomes in protective mode which is beyond my understanding as why we are not able to transfer the data through the blue tooth like ring tones or any wall paper its shows protect mode any updates for this
does this fone hav FM?
does the MP3 play a stereo or is it mono only?
I am a music buff and I wanted to kno if I shud go for this or the 6230i.
Thanx in advance... ;-)
I've not had those problems just the ones with the sending and receiving of texts I have mentioned before and when 3G sometimes decide that, even though reception looks good on the phone, calls cannot be taken (hence I have switched it to GSM which has solved that problem but stopped me accessing the internet)
Saying that, Gallery could be quicker in opening
Any 1 know can this phone access lauching internet like PC?Any wanna sell this phone(second hand)in JB or Singapore pls email me.
i think u got the tatest one..
any issue with that version, nokia people said it unstable, problem with gallery (accessing), restarting..
did u have those?
My firmware is V 3.45.113 04-01-05 RM-1
Does anyone have a later version of this?
v345.110 02-12-04 RM-1
Maxis with GPRS. so far no problem as i have switched off 3G. hearing wht the bros said i glad i have done that.
i'm using hotlink (GPRS enabled) actually.
RSmmc DV cost alot.. 128MB around Rm220 and 256MB around 300+
i'm changing my phone to SE V802 in the near future.. already tired of this phone
@ moseyposey, pls tell me ur firmware version. So, you didn't encounter any problem so far? R u using Maxis with GPRS enabled? Thx.
just found out how to check the firmware version for all non-geeks like me. :)
(Press *#0000#) and the version will pop up.
i do not know what firmware i am on as i do not know where to check it. but i do know i can switch 3g off so i think i am in better shape than some of the bros here.
@nuzzary, so which sim card you changed to? Did that solve the problem? Btw, r u using Hotlink or registered line (with GPRS enabled)?
i just want to know where in Msia i can buy a bigger capacity DV RS-MMC. mine is the standard 64MB an i'm runnin gout of space fast.
i've used my 6630 for few months now and for the camera and video function alone i am satisfied. can't say abt the rest cos i dun use it much.
the problem i'm having with maxis is that i'm staying in TTDI and every sunday my phone kept detecting 3G signal and bypassing the GSM one. when it happened i cannot make or recieved anything. then after the phone automaticly recieved GSM back i can only make call & sent sms but cannot recieved calls / sms. i have to change the simcard twice after that because it cant be rectified by the maxis center here in TTDI.
my firmware is 2.39 and theres no option in the setting menu for GSM only.
