@carlos get rid of orange phone o2 and get 6680 on a new tarrif with o2 but ask them if they can match what orange offered u first then when they beat orange which they will you will have what you want with the phone you want lol
@ claire sorry lol im with 02 online as well they are great nobody can touch these tarrifs and if u fone customer services next month get ur tarrif changed to sim only tarrif u get double mins and texts for same price
Im with o2 online not orange lol, and yeah i am happy with my tariff 400 min and 1000 text for £35 cause thats more then i need as i text more then calling and o2 do have the best text bundles, its carlos who is having probs with orange
@claire u got a great deal with your line rental just a shame its with orange i used orange before i joined o2 and had nothing but trouble with them charging me for messages i had not sent calls i hadnt made and the customer service was not worth commenting on but if ur happy then thats great would have been better if you had got the phone free as well
Thats what i did i went straight to the disconnections as they are the only ones that can offer you the good deals, i work in mobiles meself and i know if you call the network you get what you want but brokers and service providers have to work on a budget, so thats why i deal direct with the network cause even my company could not offer it me free as they got a banding of £185
@claire i dont deal with contracts i work in pay n go and cannot give myself anything but do know how to get what i want without threatening to leave or shouting all u need to do is ask and be prepared to bargain and dont go straight to upgrade department go straight to disconnections they already expect u to leave if this advice helps anyone please email me
apologies to claire last posting meant for wozza m8 i told em nothing i foned for the 6680 ordered it and got it didnt threaten to leave and they told me because of my spending they would reduce my rental for me
well as your staff of course you give yourself anything as my mate works for voda and she everything free and very very cheap line rental, and £35 is ok for me and yes i paid £49.99 for my phone but ive sold my 7610 for £150 so really not lost out, and as i said before it depends who you get on the other end of the phone
@ claire yes u get it for 20 a month but u had to pay for the phone i didnt and i didnt need to ask for this and next month i get everything half price including line rental as my staff tarrif kicks in
i ordered it on monday and they said will be with me next week as they are concetrating on the new customers at the moment
im with o2 online its my second year with them, i do like to get phones free which i do normally get with o2 as me sister is with o2 and she has got all her phones free she is into her 3rd year with o2, i was with voda before and i never got anthing free with them thats why i left them, you could try by saying my friend got this free with you and he only spends £30 a month, or somewhere on them lines, and you do have quite a high spend so im surprised they knocked you back, cause my brother is on the o2 max for £75 a month and he is due next monday so will l;et you know what happen on that one as he is with os direct x
Incidentally, are you on Orange yourself? Did you get a 6680 this way on upgrade? When did you upgrade?
Hi Clare, I was very calm, just phoned them up "matter of fact" about cancelling, and as I'm trying to get something for nothing out of them, I certainly wasn't shouting or demanding.
My monthly spend is (average) £70.00.
I tried again this morning, almost identical conversation - no-one bothering to try and keep me on at all.
Any other tips?
i would try again carlos all i did was say im thinking of looking at other deals as you were going to charge me £100 and she said lets see what we can do and thats when she came back and said you can have it free or pay £49.99 and get £10 of your line rental for 12 months, and it also depends how you come across cause if your shouting and demanding then they just want to get you off the phone
the thing is if you only paying about £20-£25 a month then 6 times out of ten they will give you your pac code cause they are not really losing anything, and i know orange are the worst for doing that, but sometimes it depends who you speak to, i did me mate she wanted a 7610 and the is on orange 60, first they said you can have your pac code, but left it 2 days and then called again and i got it free for her, so its just luck who you get really
OK, I'm looking for some help with regard to Network Cverag for 3G in the UK:
The main purpose for me upgrading is to go 3G, and this handset is the only one that comes close to having all the features I need. If they did a 6600 with 3G, I'd be there!!
Orange (as I understand it) have the best 3G coverage, as I need to browse internet as well as connect to my Office network when out and about. I understand that Orange and Vodafone (who I don't really want to go with) are the only ones that allow you to browse the net. 3 only has their "3 services", and no browsing facility, and O2's coverage doesn't stretch as far as Kent (according to their map on the website).
Any advice in this area would be greatly appreciated.
I phoned Orange and asked for my Pac code, as I was cancelling my contract to go with 3, who I could get a free 6680 from (I'm not, but they didn't know that).
I thought they'd say "Don't leave, we can get hold of a handset for you" i.e. thinking someone would try to get one from New customer section to keep me:
Orange: "OK, I need to transfer you to the cancellations department"
Me: "Here we go" I thought, lots of "Please don't cancel, we'll give you this, this and this.....etc."
Orange: "Hi, I understand you want to cancel your contract? Can I ask why you want to cancel?"
Me: "Yes, looking for an upgrade to the 6680, but you can't get hold of one, despite the fact that all your shops have them in stock, and if I was a new customer, you could supply me with one straight away".
Orange: OK, here's your PAC code, it's valid for 30 days......"
End of conversation.
So, 8 years of loyal service with Orange (previously Hutchison Telecom) counts for nothing.
"Existing customers now get the same deals as new customers" - My arse they do.
its like all networks you tell them you will leave and then they give you what you want, you got a good deal woza but 400 mins and a 1000 text is more then enough for me as so far i have 16 hours of roll over, but guys if you want it free and discount just say your leaving
@paul, i too get 800x net minutes and 200 txts, but for £20 a month! beat that!
carlos (maru & zedge),
thanks a lot again for your effort! i'll try to post my opinion tomorrow once it works...
