No problem, our friend WK, is very busy and got his hands full, we should be thankful he has time to help others, but if he is busy, I will try my hardest aiding others as well.
Thanks. I understood your lines.
I now have another knowledgeable friend other than WK
sorry but is there a way to compress the video files, and also what's switcher's real name and its purpose so i can find it myself. thanks for the advice guys!
Please, seriously, no Software Shout-Outs
Please click here to get
Switcher by KI
This version is for The Nokia Communicators, but will work for Nokia 7710.
thanks once again
I remember you mentioning about the "switcher" to someone for managing memory.
Could you please give me the link to download the same?
"you could even send me to my email" if you wish
Please no Software Shout-out please,
Hey thanks for the Information The version of the software is 03.23and the date is 15th Feb 2005. by any chance do you guys have the Full screen caller software for this?
Obviously you are running apps, that eats out memory, Images tends to eat memory like Web Browser, so you need to close some programs before running each one, preferebly run programs one at a time.
Nokia 7710 can support, 3pg, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, mpeg-3, RealMedia(7,8), and .Avi(Smartmovie), but at the moment it doesnt support mpeg-4, you would have to use Smartmovie or DVD Player to view it.
If i work for long on videos or photos or any other graphical applications, i will not be able to use any other applications and i get a message "Not enough memory please try later" Once I get this, the only way out is to reboot.
I guess this is a bug?
the firmware version is 4.01
Please let me know if this is also a common problem or if there is a workaround for the same.
If you are talking about MPEG-4(Video), currently no, there are ways to put plug-ins in the phone to view unsupported format, mp4.ddl, now if you know how to get that plugin, use your file explorer to embed it in(place it in a certain folder)
Other than that try SmartMovie instead, much safer.
The only Nokia phone that I have that plays MP4 is a N90, and it is reasonable, the fact that it has a faster processor...etc
Oh, yeah I forgot, SmartMovie 2.76 is out, no more lags, and also DVD player by Viking,
contact me to test drive.
Okay I'm back, answering questions and helping others kind of gets you tired,
No AIM supports S90 yet*, but you will have to use third-party softwares to chat with your phone.
Searching games, themes, and apps for your phone is not that hard, you just have to search, Google, is a nice option, but don't make this Comment boxes shout-outs about these games...etc, try GSMArena Forums, thats what its for.
to find your version
Nokia 7710, is capable of viewing other fonts(TrueType Fonts, .ttf) I do not know exactly why Nokia couldn't pre-install it in the device;
1. You have to have some kind of a file explorer for this phone. (Try, ProfiMail by LonelyCats Game it has a File Explorer, and try PowerFile.)
2. Make a folder in the C:/ drive of the phone, called Fonts, i.e. C:/System/Fonts.(Note: You have to use the File Explorers, if you make it through Nokia Phone Browser, the phone will not read it.
3. Go to Windows Fonts, Start --> Control Panel --> Appearance and Themes --> Fonts
4. Copy the certain Font you need.
5. Paste it in the folder that you made.(Copy the .ttf file to MyDocs first, then use the File Explorer to move/copy in the Fonts Folder.
5. After putting it in the folder, soft-restart the phone.(Take out the battery after phone is off.)
6. Turn on the phone. To check if the phone reads it, go to Documents, and make a new Document go to Menu, Format, Font, and select the new Font; or just go to a SMS or Document that is already another font, and just view it, if it shows the font, then its working, if it shows squares, the phone didn't read the fonts.
how do you make 7710 read other fonts besides the preinstalled one?
Hey Guys, I Need to get some Themes and Games for My Nokia 7710. This Phone is not that fast as i thought when i bought it. Can you guys tell me how i can get the Full screen caller on this Phone.

10x Witchking i did as u said i inistalled realyone player n i downloaded a clip 2 ma phone but when i opened ma phone i entered realy player it said that there wasnt no clips!! so wts the problem?
Got to be quick as I'm leaving work:
Kheng, look on Google or Download.com. There will be a utility to do what you ask no doubt. I have Smart Movie 2.72, so I guess 2.12 will work.
Barra - agree on everything except the audio quality. I find it at least as good as any phone I have used. If you find it very very bad, then you may have a fault. Try it on handsfree to see if that sounds better. If it doesnt, then maybe you have a prob.
Abhi: I think you need to format your phone almost certainly. This does not affect the performance of the phone (in fact it will probably improve it). I think re-installing the OS is more than is required and a new phone should be got before that is done.I assume you have carried out a five minute plus power down. If you have, then backup your data and format it.
Andreas, there should have been 2 stylus in the box. I think nokia have only made one phone which needs a stylus (I could be wrong though), so I think your phone company are very confused. Sounds like you got a second hand or returned phone. Leather case isnt great (the bottom rides up on mine), but it will do until I get another. Shame it has no belt loop.
I had the same ringtone problem. I then installed Switcher and discovered that lots of applications were not closing down. What was happening was music player would mute or exit badly, but remain running and that would prevent the phone ringing. It was a real pain in the *ss. Get switcher and use it every other day and you "should" be fine. I know I have been. Also close down "telephone" with it as this shows up as okay quite often when it is actually corrupt.
Got to go.
