latest firmware is 4.5 but not available everywhere.. if u guys need any appz, drop me msg
Vokia, uninstall Switcher and re-install again. The version I am using is Switcher-1.5-crystal.sis which can be found at http://www.ki-ag.de/ and its for the 9210, but works fine even though it warns about being incompatible. I am currently learning how to program Symbian apps yes, with a view to improving eemame. Its a slow process though as I am snowed under at work.
Internet browse speed is primarily dependant upon your network and not the phone. The 7710 may be marginally slower to update its screen than other phones as it is so much bigger, but the difference will be negligible compared to the download times which are the primary stumbling blocks.
hey venki u said the internet is really fast. its pretty damn slow compared to other nokia phones which have come out.
this is a masterpiece by nokia and sexiest phone ever made by man..... internet isjust superb and fast to browse
Hey Hugo, sorry, i could'nt see your question.
The is working great since the upgrade. i have even tried opening 5 simultaneous widows of the browser plus the music player and the camera running side by side and it did not crash. Is it possible to podcast using 7710?
Witchking, thanks again! re switcher, I am not getting any window after i tap on the icon on desk. Just the message about hotkey. That is what makes me think probably i am not having the right version of it. Does it warn you of compatebility when you install it? btw Are you into symbian app development also?
Just enter *#0000# using your phone's dialer pad to get the firmware version.
I think the latest is 3.26
Is there other people out there having problems with the bluetooth otn the phone. my software freeze when i start searching other devices or if i try to send a file to another phone and search for device. is the problem in my phone?
you go into phone mode and enter *#0000#.
Yes it is supported by default, but there are different kinds of encoding formats and some of them are not supported by the N7710's built in media player.
hey hugo answer fast plz.
can any one tell me how to check the firmware version of nokia 7710
hi hugo. I dont know what is my firmware version can u telll me how to check it. u said that u have to download smart movie but i checked at nokia.com it said that it has a mpeg4 playback by default
As far as playing mpeg's are concerned, i believe that you have to download an application called "smart movie". That should solve the problem.
PS. what is the firmware version of your N7710?
hey i just bought the nokia 7710 & by mistake i formated the mmc card. so i am not able to play mpeg files in it. is it related to the formating of mmc card or it is an internal error. when i open a mpeg file it says unknown file format. plz help me plz man ill be greatful to u ""plz plz plz""
That yes and also general things like which have been discussed on this post.
My email is email@example.com. Drop me a mail some time then i can send you a breakdown of what I have in mind.
Be candid as you like. I'm currently working on 3 projects all with the same deadline, so when I'm up late on my PC (like 1 am last night), it tends to be with work and not play. I'm currently working on FGAC, Prince 2, Symbian (C++), ITIL and eemame.OH and my fiancee wants me to set her a website up for her company. So, nope, no clue what podcasting is.
Quick Google and I now know what it is. Okay, so what would you record to MP3 in your podcast? I assume I'd be needed for the RSS coding side of life? [/edit]
Hi witchking, pardon my candor, but under which oracle machine have you been hiding? Podcasting is the latest craze from Apple.
It's like having your own radio station, and it is for free.I have been toying with the idea for a while, but I can not do it on my own.
Hugo, forgive my ignorance (I'm an Oracle / Java developer and not a web guru), but what is a podcast? I'll help out with one if I can. I'm currently having to get into the web aspects of life rapidly. I have included my work e-mail address on this post for your reply.
Vokia, glad I could be of help and I hope you continue to enjoy it. Ref Switcher, ignore the "hotkey" message. Once Switcher opens, you highlight any program you want to close fully in the left window and then click on Terminate and that program is no longer resident. IE. I have Camera still showing as open, though I last used it two days ago, so I'll click on that (uses 1.6mb of RAM) and close it now.
Tell me, how do you find the stability of the phone and the os?
Hey witchking, how about starting a podcast?
Hi everyone! I am an avid Nokia fan and have tried all nokia models right frm 5110 till the latest 7710. i have been reading these pages for quite a some time now and probably was compelled to buy 7710 due to this. Whitchking, I appreciate your postings as you seem to be the most informed and know-before-u-speak kind of a guy. thankyou for making me choose the best device nokia have ever produced. Thank you everyone!
I haf bought it around a month back and it had the v2.8 firmware. it hanged a lot and the battery used to get drained in 5-6 hour. Then i got it upgraded to 3.06 1and now the phone works as great as it can get. No problem at all. The screen gives a yellow tint though only in the open day light and no dead pixel either. All though the app closer works great, i downloaded the switcher for n9500 but dont know how to use it as it gives a message' hot key ctrl+h+t installed'.
Nalaka, this is NOT Nokia's website. If you want a product brochure, either go to Nokia.com and look for the 7710 or click on Manual on the left of this page.
Jeeks, what Hugo said.
i work in a phone shop and i gota 7710 and she isa beast of a phone and my tv quallity is verry tasty
