Nokia 808 PureView - user opinions and reviews

Very important to all people who are waiting like me for the new Nokia 41 mp WP pureview (catwalk, EOS or what ever it is) this is some facts and cons about the WP in imaging section :

1- WP OS still has no face detection in the main camera app and it produces very shiny and highlight faces during the day light or night photos with flash (Symbian does great performance of face detection)
2- WP OS white balance is very bad in treating the colors which some times produces blue and green strange noise (Symbian does perfect Job)
3- WP OS has no zoom during the video recording...before recording only (Symbian all the way)
4- WP OS can't handle multi different light conditions in the same time during video recording as we see some videos makes you feel it plays with exposure in very bad way (Symbian is King)
5- WP OS gives the worst daylight quality among all the biggest 3 operating systems (Android, IOS, WP) it gives strange square details like it's a minecraft details (Symbian is the King of them all)
6-WP OS has problem with exposure tuning for still photos...doesn't work all the time and some times I need to exit the camera and back again to tune it as I want.
but however all of this...the portico update for Lumia 920 , the performance of lumia 510 and lumia 620 giving me the hope that Nokia now trying hard to develop and fix the WP OS to make it ready for the next big surprise and the real deal and I think the new pureview will come with this spec:
1- 800*400 (800*480) WVGA resolution with 4, 4.3 inch display and 217 ppi or above.
2- 1.5 duel core S4 chipset and 1 gig of ram. (or may be 1 duel only if it will not be a flagship)
3- Micro SD card support and NFC.
4- DLNA and I hope (HDMI port) and imagine UPnP technology (mouse and keyboard ability)
5-Nokia rich audio recording and optical image stabilization.
6-Xenon flash (if not it will be a joke)
7-First face detection in WP OS for the main camera app (not talking about the smart shoot and camera extras)
8-touch focus not touch to shoot.
9-quick lunch like the 808's one (faster than the WP integrated feature)
10-some new cool stuff and tricks from scalado.
11- I hope better focal range (808 pureview has 15cm wish is really big distance and some times it needs 20 cm to get the focus in some conditions comparing to N8 which has 10 cm, IPhone and galaxy S3 which is 6 cm only)
12-better zooming function in the gallery like 808 tapping one.
12-Oversampling technology, if pinning I will kill my self :)
and Finally I DO Hope that the quality of photos and Video will be the same as 808 pureview (i'll not say better) because if the new Pureview does great job in terms of details and quality so Nokia really defeat one from the biggest disadvantage in this OS which is imaging quality...beside all the features which exists in the Symbian.
I wish for Nokia all goodness in the next MWC...GO GO NOKIA destroy all the expectations :)

trnsharma, 18 Feb 2013@carol no, hard reset didn't work. I've the same dictionary problem and hard reset didn't work.Then this must be cause an update bug. Nokia kind of rushed latest Symbian updates, fp1 fp2 and refresh. Maybe will be fixed soon...

What the hell only Hindi language is not working. I feeling so bad.

People are people, and nobody can make them think otherways. People that left Nokia for samdung or android in general, or apple. Are the mass. It is a world of the fashion herd. So now, smasung is the fashion and apple is for the du*b that want's to play smart. This people look for what others have. The more times they see the same device in other hands, the more they want to buy it. Nokia trend was off for them, they never bought nokia for what it is, but for what others have to say about it:). I still have friends that used symbian cause i liked it.... But they still don't know how to use it. So they found a ”better” system on other brands that they still don't know how it works. But, the important thing is that there are apps and everybody has it. So, now, samsung is up, but minding the fact that out there are so many crap manufacurers, at some point sammy will go down. And they know that. This is why they release crap after crap every 2 months. To keep the people intersted in their devices and to sell as much as they can before going down. For a real thech geek, s2 was enough. But for the mass, the fashonized herd, a tablet called phone will be more to brag about. The trend of trends. Do you realize? It is a great screen big a*s phone... Now, they will go tired of this trend to. So stick up, to see who's comming next:)).

I wanted to buy this nokia 808 phone but before that i wanted to know whether i c... moreI don't have to much 808 experience but i don't think is far from 701, if you know symbian there is not much to talk about. 808 is a symbian powerhorse. As for that calls you talk about. Fring is one of them. It has viber but i dont know how it works, i never used it.

its a very good and best mobile phone i ever see because i use nokia mobile almost 4 years from nokia n70,73,75,79,85,97,and more c6,5800,701,in india i use it because I am the fan of nokia phone now i bought nokia 808pureview amazing phone i bought this in saudi Arabia thanku nokia

Things that are st... morehey carol,then why cant nokia think like the way we are there are ppl accepted android bcoz nokia didn't manage theirs own customer requirements if they added features timely then nokia would have ruling world still,i have purchased nokia 206 two days ago phone is good looking but features wise they its lesser then x202,no equalizer no call alert vibration,no wirelessly fm,no usb,but price is expensive than x202,why nokia comes new phones with less features then older one and price more ,they should come back with relaunch with 6600,n73,6233,6030,n82,n95,with simple changes they will back on top again,,again why only we yhink about it but profits is nokias only,,,,

HI friends!
I wanted to buy this nokia 808 phone but before that i wanted to know whether i could use the apps like viber and tango for free voice and video calls which i can use in android and ios?
coz i tried that in nokia N8 but there i can use viber only for texts but not calls!
Also i wanted to know abt the performance of the phone in user views.
So plz anybody reply me soon!

And what symbian has to offer. Things that are still not reached by others:). Allot of times i was frustrated when i used android. Some lags here and there. And when i say lags, i mean LAGS. Everyone complains about symbian being laggy? Slower maybe, some times, BUT LAGGY? No Way! Android is laggy. When you swipe a screen and the next one appears after 2 seconds with just one widget on it, THAT I CALL LAG! When you look at pictures and next one comes after 3 sec. THAT IS A LAG. ALSO sometimes unresponsive touchscreen, battery eater and so on... ios = crap for me. I will never use an apple device, not in a million years. I won't pay that kind of money for a castrated technology.

Most of this problems are hardware related or power related. You should take it back, someone will have a look and will tell you if will be fixed or changed. I always want the device changed. So, insist for a new one, if it's not to late:).
