Anonymous, 24 Jan 2013Nokia 808 now officially REST IN PEACE what do you say carol & localhydI'd say that you need to learn to read. There won't be any new Symbian phone. But nobody said that there won't be further Symbian support. And Symbian will have support and updates till 2016, at least... I think is enough for any gadget lover to still buy Symbian phones...

Jai, 27 Jan 2013Hi everybody,
Symbian is not going anywhere. With active user base of more than 100million(as... morethat's true jai,
symbian cannot be removed completely. Nokia will be still developing the software.
Yes everyone loves to play games and use cool apps. But the first is hardware. One cannot buy a handset just because it has temple run 2 wifi hot spot etc. But firstly the essence of having a mobile has to be fulfilled.
I have my 808 it satisfies my mobile needs and my friend has s3 who he has the app and games but not happy with camera and sound etc
Symbian is not going anywhere. With active user base of more than 100million(as per Jan 2013) any OS is far from Dead. And more and more apps are hitting Nokia Store now. Go check yourself. On Internet people have started loudly telling Nokia that how much they love Symbian. Even I called up Nokia just to tell them this and they acknowledged that "we are getting some feedback regarding this from our esteemed customers now"
May be all Symbian fans (others may look from fence) should tell Nokia that they still love Symbian. For it is still more efficient and well-designed OS than Android and iOS.
-(Proud owner of 808 & N8)
One of the app that is very badly needed in Symbian touch phones is an all in one player like "Coreplayer" in non touch ones. Also there should be an official option to turn off/on the platform security.
Really hope tat symbian ay alive some how...hope someone else can buy symbian from nokia and keep it alive for ppl like us who love symbian...really wished i had enough money to buy symbian and develop it more and make amazing fones with it...loving my 808 soo much
good afternoon carol. just wanted to thank you for your reply regarding the country of manufacture of pure view, thanks a lot:) and take care.
Great808pvowner, 26 Jan 2013ya mate.....we'll see...what will happen? Do u have this cute toy ?unfortunately not.....not yet:) however 808 its on high priority:) almost two years now i have an N8. Honestly i haven't seen any other device so particular like pure view. Even if Nokia release in the future a lumia pure view with 41 mp or even more it won't be the same! 808 has received excellent comments not here at gsm arena but also in my country, Greece (also the same when n8 was released). 808 is already a collectors item! Be proud to have it and enjoy it! Greetings from Athens to you and to all friends here. Take care.
Mithun Roy Chowdhury, 26 Jan 2013How Much This Product (Lumia808)Of Bangladesh Retail Price? This is not Lumia (Lumia's are with windows phone). This is Nokia 808 PureView running on Symbian Belle (Nokia Belle fp1/fp2 is the new name of the OS now) and in Germany costs around 500 euros.

So Nokia cannot replace future phones with Symbian. Cause their won't be any cheap phone anymore, isn't it? Even the cheapest Symbian device is more then 100 euros. and doesn't have all the things a future phone has. 1ghz cpu, gorilla glass. Take c5-oo for example. It has almost nothing that a future phone has. but is still at higher price... at least was:). To sell cheap devices they need to make the cheap. So Asha are well done for the price and Symbian cannot replace that. Asha, also andoid will never replace Symbian, of course. So they bet on WP:)

Nokia 808 maybe the last symbian phone but it can give a good fight to the current smartphones!! This phone is amazing and i don't have any problems so far thank God cause i so much love this phone.. I believe we will still get support until 2016.. At the present this phone is cool enough.. I'm planning to get lumia 920 though and i'm gonna keep them both.. :))

lets see now with all these lumias around what will happen. We must not take for granted that lumias and wph will rule. Things can change from one moment to another, we have seen that a lot of times. Its their turn now to make their move. Until 2015 we have plenty of time. For 3-4 years we'll see a tons of lumias and/or other brand/boring devices.....but so boring.....
