Yaj, 11 Jan 2013Should I buy this phone? i love taking pictures and recording videos. My friend is suggesting ... moreiPhone is a toy, 808 is a tool. I was heavy Android and old WinMo user and I own several Android phones but very impressed with 808.
great photography
great sound output and no worse than HTC's BeatsAudio (tested and compared on Kenwood hi-fi amplifier)
clear sound of videos
changing the size of photo feature and cropping too
great preinstalled games
in-built file manager
real multitasking is able to running a lot of apps
doc viewer/editor
Symbian is a simple but hard-working
despite the small ppi good display
hundreds of practicable Symbian apps in store
AnonD-85989, 12 Jan 2013camera quality is good but samsung galaxy camera is more than better,,so u can go 4 galaxy:)))). You good, you good at bad jokes. But you really made me laugh:)))). In a hysterical sort of way. Even my N8 beats the crapp out of all galaxy that were and still to come. You need a more the 1 mm slim device to get a picture from that crap.
This could be my next phone.
It has the great Belle Operating System. And if this is the last phone with Belle I would like to have It.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2013yes you are right myself too like same theme vmuch ,,,i think you must know lumia theme by fg ... moreYes i know that theme. But i don't like it to much. If you like lumia style you can try Symbian Phone Blue (or other: red, pink, orange, green) by daeva112. It is fast and nice theme, and it's free:). Check them all out http://store.ovi.com/publisher/daeva112?username=daeva112&page=1

AnonD-91246, 11 Jan 2013hey guys. I saw a video on youtube. it was about some bubble screen lock and custom theme effe... morePlease read this for more info about the 808 fp1 theme effects http://www.n8fanclub.com/2012/06/how-to-flash-nokia-808-pure-view-with.html
this is for fp2 but some people are facing problems http://forum.dailymobile.net/index.php?topic=82028.msg1023595#msg1023595 (i think you will need to register so for you to download the base package.
Fp2 has allot of things taken out. But there are still workarounds. I won't do it if i would have 808. It is perfect the way it is. But, if you are prepared, you can give it a try.:)
Riz, 11 Jan 2013haris that's another third party app you can get it from 808fanclubI tried but couldn't succeed. there is no search option available, where we can search the app we want and get easily.

Yaj, 11 Jan 2013Should I buy this phone? i love taking pictures and recording videos. My friend is suggesting ... moreif you want a good camera, then get 808 but it has limited apps !
Carol, 11 Jan 2013Hey, glad you like them. MeeGo by Blade is my favorite. I love the pure black inside this them... moreyes you are right myself too like same theme vmuch ,,,i think you must know lumia theme by fg shah..that is also good if you didnt try this ///
hey guys. I saw a video on youtube. it was about some bubble screen lock and custom theme effects. have can we do that with our 808pureview. in N8 there was an option for theme effect in settings-themes. I searched it in 808 but didn't find it there. :(
I was thinking hard between 808-pv and 920-lumia.
Since now 920 is released in India and is costing 36K and 808 is around 23K, again those questions pops up to me:
1) DO I need to pay for dual or quad cores in a mobile?
- I dont need to run photoshop in that so what am i gonna do with those cores, may be couple of apps opened will do for me, if I really need to get 4 or 5 or 6 apps to be opened up simultaneously than I really need to look beyond a mobile to a tablet or laptop may be!! Again my personal opinion.
2) DO I need to spend that much of time of my daily life in installing and checking apps?
- Preferably not. So many things better to do than just keep looking into ur mobile's screen all the time. Some time killing apps anyways I will get on any platform when you really need to kill time apart from listening to music.
3) I really need to have a offline navigator and good audio quality during calls and the best in class camera.
- So I get all these on 808pv so thats my choice. A really good picture of you and your family or friends will remain with you forever rather than those apps which actually makes you spend less and less time with people. Also dolby plus is another advantage for all music lovers.
And last its a farewell device for symbian and a collector's item going forward and stand aparts from all the same looking 5 inch screens with no curves and same configs here and there.
So Yes I will be going with 808 for sure now and will be getting that in another month's time.
