[deleted post]Hey, it is no problem if it reboot's it self, don't worry. But if doesn't boot, then you have a small problem. Or you will take it to nokia care to see if they can recover your c: data (though i doubt that) or you formate the phone using tree buttons method (whith this methid you will loose everythin from c: but your phone will be alive again (hopefully):
1. Power up the device by holding down * plus 3 plus Green Call button. Don't let go of the buttons until you see the screen starting up and asking for your country etc.
If the above does not work then try Press and hold Red + Green + Camera button until your device start up
Haris, 29 Nov 2012Hi Carol, Can u confirm this is a hardware bug so I can proceed with Nokia Care to replace ... morei'd say to take it back. Maybe they naild down the issue by now. Allot of users confirmed that reinstalling the firmware is not helping at all. You can also try what that guy said with the microsim. I'm courios cause it sounds very plausible. If this is true, then maybe Nokia didn't thought about the variety of the microsim's when building this card slot. Right now, out there, there is no solution but to take it to nokia care... You can tell them in a note if you decide to send it in, that the phone was formated and the firmware was reinstalled so they should look elsware cause it's becoming cleare that there is no software issue anymore(though it still could be a posibility). Right now you know what i know:) in this matter. You decide!
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2012Is that problem applicable to all types of data connection? or just 3.5G ?Most experienced this problem in 3.5g connection (cause of the highspeed floading in the device). But some said they experience look ups when they are in low signal quality area's. Quote:
”So, to sum it up, my 808 will lock up when the data connection is weak no matter what technology is being used (!)[here, the user, refers to whether your are using gsm 2.5g, 3g or 3.5g], and it will lock up a lot quicker with a faster connection. The more i read, the more i feal there is something wrong in the connection area. Right now i can confirm that this could be an hardware issue. Something, somewhere does not want to function well. At least this is my guesing at the moment. If you have this problem please try to find a microsim with big goolden chip, and do some testings to see if what that user said is true. That could be the card slot who's the mallfunctioning here.

But they are quite the same... I'm a technician instead. I work more with pc's. Smartphones and pc's look alike. I will be an 808 user soon, i hope:). And no problem scares me:)). Unfortunately i will never ensure anybody to buy something. I can talk from my experience but still not ensure him that he will get a great device. Maybe he get's a faulty one... i'm not sticking my hands on that! Overall this device is better then my N8... At least for me. So i'm waiting for my money to grow bigger so to purchase it. Even though i know there is not a very big difference between them, only the camera (which is a very huge difference) a bit of processor and ram improvement, i'm still gonna buy it! And symbian is symbian, so if you have a good "in deep" experience with one, you know them all:)

I apologise for not contributing more to this thread recently. I have been out of the office and away from the internet for 3 weeks (doesn't happen often).
I understand we have identified an issue and have a solution in testing, so yes, I can confirm that Nokia is still working on this issue.
I will communicate more to this thread when I have more information.
this is what somebody from the web experienced...
I have the same bug and this is what I found after testing 3 micro sim cards providers here in Kuwait. The problem is related to the size of the golden chip that is on your micro sim card. If the size of that golden chip is thin and a little short or tall then you will have the problem when turning mobile data on as tried both of them from 2 diffrent providers and got the problems of hanging evertime I'm using mobile data for internet.
As for the 3rd provider VIVA, the golden chip is almost square and filling almost 97% of the micro sim card and it worked perfectly without having any troubles using high speed internet, 3.5G netowrk, and using MicroSD card 32Gb class 10, and since then my nokia 808 never got any hanging or crashes issues. and this is what I'm using right now and I have no issues or troubles anymore.
When I turned back to the other micro sims (Zain and Wataniya) the problem started again.
In conclusion, after a lot of tests through formating and using different micro sim cards, I found out it is the micro sim card reading that keeps making the problem.
Please do confirm if somthing helped!
