a have a Nokia 808 on my free time and a SGS3 on work.I prefer the 808 if I only can have one phone.the picture quality is so stunning with the 808 and it is fast.screen is really ok.SGS3 is to big for me and not that impressed with the screen and it many times freezes.personally i prefer SGS2 with gingerbread over my new SGS3.About the 808 its all About the camera.true.and have all the apps I need.maps.games.facebook.videocalling with Fring and all other tools need on my spare time .This is the best camera phone out there.not even Lumia 920 has 41mpix sensor.and the price has dropped moore than 25% in my country and now you can buy it in many stores.was sold out all the times the first 3 months.I simply love this camera phone.
I suggest you that never ever buy a nokia phone. I purchased a pureview 808 and it has a problem with its screen glass. I returned it 15 days later. Now its 2 months and they say "we'll change your phone with the new one except its backcover." can you believe it. I wanted them to gibe me a brand new boxed unit and they now say they will replace it with the new unit except its backcover. Their explanation for this is that backcover is kind of accessorie. F..k you nokia. Accessorie means if you want to use it you use it, if you dont want to than you dont have to... How can someone use its phone without a backcover, exposing the battery. What is your IQ nokia. I just bought the phone for its camera and didnt expect much on symbian belle, which I found disgusting as I used it. Finally, what I am trying to say is nokia is going down, and the things Ive lived with nokia showed me that they will go deeper and go deeper faster. Dont buy nokia period.
AnonD-69919, 05 Sep 2012well after reading the reviews and all I think it's a very good camera phone. An ugly but good... moreIt has a separate processor just for image processing. Also, the display has more ppi than iPhone 3GS and nobody complained about that one. Plus, this one has best sunlight legibility of them all which is more important for outdoor use.
Anonymous, 03 Sep 2012Nokia made 808 for like just for me coz i dont want much apps and my daily tasks are calling,t... moreme too, the price is 500 euro now,am i too crazy if i buy this beauty right now..?it is more expensive than samsung sIII
has anyone seen this video of pureview taking a picture from outer space?
it seems pureview is very durable as it stood against the harsh cold of exiting the earth's atmosphere, it was still able to capture a photo!
got my 808pureview yesterday.1 word AMAZING.
Or you can say its the N8 after a 2 year steroid diet
AnonD-40740, 04 Sep 2012I will always say NO. Nokia will commit a huge mistake if they install android into their phon... moreis that a joke...i dnt see nokia rocking anymore..its gasping breathlessly and biting dust, look at the phones samsung and iphone are making truly hats off to them...just tell me how many of these pureview did nokia manage to sell, samsung sales are outnumbering and breaking records worldwide.
u can check the latest price of nokia 808 at various online stores over here: http://www.kartcompare.in/

boy, 02 Sep 2012this is the biggest phone innovation. yes this phone is the best camera phone out there even b... moreDepending on what you want. I need a phone full of innovations, therefor, the system is the last thing in a phone, for me. Yes, is important, but is the last thing. Ok, leaving aside the fact that that i love symbian, this camera is not supported by any other mobile system on the market. This shows clear that symbian is still the badas* system that can defeat everything that surrounds it. BUT... lack of commitment and interest, force this system to die. Ok, the piracy is to heavy for a system that is abandoned. We should sustain it more because is the only system worth to fight for. You will se android supporting this kind of hardware in 4 years, when symbian could do waaay better...
AnonD-12116, 04 Sep 2012why d price of 808 is not going down? I cant wait any longer :(:(superb phone..
AnonD-69919, 05 Sep 2012well after reading the reviews and all I think it's a very good camera phone. An ugly but good... more"..And even the screen has only 136ppi..."
LOL!! Wake up man. You don't know what you are saying!
This phone has 184 ppi resolution.
Sqrt[(360)^2+(640)^2]/4 = 183.57, say 184 ppi.
Now,, about the too long but useless comment whom you just wasted your time posting, who do you think would believe you?
I wish this phone Had a Different OS :( maybe even a windows OS anything other than Symbian! :( i Would love to See this camera on a lumnia !
I also dont know why 808 price does not go down, as I am also waiting which drives me crazy as well. Cant wait any longer. If it goes down like any other Nokia new models, 808 should be around 480 USD by now.
well after reading the reviews and all I think it's a very good camera phone. An ugly but good cameraphone. What I can't stop thinking about it's its durability. It has a single core 1,3GHz cpu and a gpu that I don't know so I won't comment on it but it makes me think that you either take only 8MP photos with it thus voiding the purchase of a unique therefore expensive 41MP cameraphone or you use the 38MP all the time and you shorten the cpu's life just like gaming in a non-gaming computer. If it had a dual core cpu and double the ram I'd be convinced.. With such specs... And even the screen has only 136ppi... Revamp, update or upgrade it and I'll be convinced for sure.
i like the nokia 808 pureview but i believe nokia needs to build an all round device. Imagine have that great camera on a quad core Processor supporting flash within the browser. greater integration of facebook twitter and other networking sites. better screen res, a larger screen something like 4.5, 4.8inches better graphics.just something that all can relate too and use from business workers to tech lovers like myself. i've used the nokia N8 and i only used it to play music watch videos an record videos. it lagged at times and i just think the pureview would have had more to offer. but hope to see more improvements as nokia continues to produce great phones
hai, can we buy the 808 from online market of nokia. is it safe to buy online. can i get a goood piece. pls suggest me. i'm waiting for ur replys. thank u.
baadshah, 03 Sep 2012nokia does not come out of belle OS, should get android,, then it will rockkkk in the market,,,,I will always say NO. Nokia will commit a huge mistake if they install android into their phones. As a developer I must say that android has a terrible task manager. Nokia has a simple but better task administrator, I think that Symbian only has to enhance the User Interface. Getting Android as OS will be like a monopoly of OS, there must be options, I don't like Apple, I don't like Android either, Symbian does what I need. Nokia rocks already!!
