antook, 12 Jun 2012".. the phone is thick on todays standard...""?? seriously, what is the acce... moreyeah i agree with you buddy, first off, there is NO standard. and if you are about to compare the thickness please keep in mind the miraculous technology of the camera and the recording capability of this phone that is lacking on other devices! other companies makes phones that can do all around but can't do anything at best. i mean like, Jock of all trades but master of none. we can't have everything at once. but knowing that this mobile device's camera is exceptional, you can rule out all of it's "weak points" because admit it or not, not samsung, nor apple, not even htc can create a cameraphone like this is the coming ten years! take that! if you dont want to accept the fact, then keep warm with your android or your apple. pretend that nokia pureview tech dont exist!
If u don't like this fune. . .Shut up and don't compair it in any os or brands just silent and don't buy it if u don't like im using nokia lumia 900 and i lov nokia so pls. Stop!

Th... moreFirst of all i would like to understand what do u man by u need ur phone to identify the caller?do u want it to read the name of the caller aloud? then just switch on driving mode and it will do it for u, secondly call waiting is available on SG3, just go to Phone App, Call settings, additional settings and tick Call waiting and if ur talking abt sound well all reviews will tll u that SG3 has the best sound output and if ur a businessman the USB OTG plus the support to connect a keyboard should be an added advantage on the SG3.
when this phone was first introduced, there was excitement but the delay i think have made that excitement subsides. and add to the fact that it's symbian, no improvement on the screen and the phone is thick in today's standard.
@ anonymous- to be more precise I asked to know if 808 handles facebook right from ur list of contacts and not lunching a different app. Cos I hate that in former symbian Oses. I need to know cos I enjoy this feature on lumia 710. Pls I need an answers from any1 who has tried it on this 808.

Its a bad phone it doesn,t support divx.xvid, and other high video formats.
Being a serious businessman and a phone enthusiast, I am very dependent on my phones. There are four qualities that I require on my ideal phone. It has to be able to store a large number of contacts, around 6500 to be precise; while also being able to efficiently recognize and identify the contact name whenever I receive a call. Secondly, the phone must be able to tell me if my call is waiting when I am trying to call someone else. Other than that, I prefer that the SMS forwarding option is simple. Finally, the sound quality, especially when using headphones, should be good.
Within the past week, I have tested out three phones: HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy 3 and Nokia 808 PureView. My findings show that the Galaxy 3 cannot identify the callers' names nor shows calls that are waiting, and has moderate sound quality. The One X can identify the callers but doesn't show call waiting. However, the sound quality is superb. Furthermore, the aforementioned phones have inefficient methods when it comes to SMS forwarding. Lastly, the PureView seems to be able to do all the tasks very smoothly and quickly. Although the others have much better hardware specifications, the Nokia 808 wins when it comes to performance on communication purposes for businessmen like me. Of course I don't care too much about the apps, so given my needs, the Nokia 808 seems like the perfect phone.
I have decided to keep the Nokia 808 as my main phone, the HTC One X as a secondary one and to resell the Samsung Galaxy 3.
