i know der is no point comparing a pc with mobile,but still 4 a vry vry vry outer idea
a single core pentium d procesor is priced at max 13000
whereas i7(x990) 6 core procesor is priced at max 55000

monstrous 41mp sensor is still small comparing with hi-end dslr plus the dslr have 20+ optical zoom,but u will not have it in your hand in some special moments of your life

808 if used in 5mp ,it uses approx 7 pixel and combines it to 1
then its 2mp should be able to bind approx 19 invidual pixel into 1
and so the 8mp will use approx 4 pixel for one super pixel
and as seen on youtube pureview technology zooms till the input is equal to output resolution(i.e if shooting in 5mp mode u can zoom till the pic reaches the size of 5mp,,,means no work left for image processor it will use '1' pixel to create '1' super pixel
if all of my above mentioned things are correct(my knowledge plus youtube mwc video,,,then
u will get maximum detailed pic in 2mp(without zoom)
and maximum zoom also will b in 2 mp mode.
{just imagining future pv phones will have slide pure zoom and also having a digital zoom using volume control--it will minus the croping work}
and 1 more thing ,,,wat zoom does a full resolution 34 or 38 mp image mode have? digital zoom or no zoom

AnonD-51869, 04 Jun 2012i love its camera(goin 2 buy 1) but i ""personally"" feel it cant compe... moreOf course it can't compete with 30-40 MP DSLR like Nikon D800 or medium format cameras which cost 3000$+. But it is better than all P&S cameras and can surely compete with mirrorless cameras and low-end DSLRs.

but yes it can surely compete with 5mp dslr camera
i just wanna buy it coz i will maximum shoot at 8mp camera(as 4 now i capture stills on my n8 at 9mp widesceen)

i 2 dont want a multicore high speed proceesor in my fone coz its no use 4 me
moreover the apps which i use runs vry smoothly on belle
battery also stays throughout the day.
i only said low procesor,low resolution etc must come cheaper.
technology always keeps on upgrading or new 1 comes.that helps the company to stay in the race

galaxy s III is still over 200$ expensive than nokia 808. go buy a camera over 30Mega pixels and see how much it costs.. 808 is even cheaper than that, plus not to mention the pictures it captures are breath taking..

multicores ??!! why ?1 i have now S2 with dual core and its extremely fast .. Quad core for what ! rich photoshop and video encoding for example !!!!! loooooll
seriously phone companies are not reasonable these days .. whats the use for Quadcore 1.5ghz mobile phone !
Good Camera is the most important beside good battery life .. not to mention a Brilliant Pureview camera

Look at the price of s3 its 40 ! and you do know no other... morei 2 think price is 'not' reasonable coz all the other fone which cost more ,have high resolution display ,powerfull battery,multi core processor etc(thou nokia doesnt need that coz it works flawlessly on symbian)
so it should cost less than rivals
moreover talkin about the pureview technology ,nokia should not b tryin 2 recover all the money they spent on developing pv technology from this single handset
they should do more r&d to develop more innovative tech to compete with its rival
sayin this am going 2 buy pv 808 ,coz i love the music ,camera and belle (moded n8 user)
