This device price is cheap, what really make it so expansive is the 41 MP camera

hi dos, 808 with good camera, fp1 OS but Carla, Donna programmes cancelled ! now, wiser symbian customers would be definitely more happier in joining the most advanced Android/iOS platform instead of stucking to some immatured, experimental stage platform in the near future.

Nokia Lumia 900 is going to release in SG by 26th May. Two more days from now.
Yet PureView's release is delay till June without a confirm date.

Then it comes this rumour about no more Carla or further major firmware update.

Is this Nokia's strategy to ensure that Lumia 900 out sold PureView?

I hope Nokia do not put a incredibly high price tag for PureView.

what did u do 2 get your 1st android? This was the advertise which i saw on my tv a couple of years back(micromax mobile india).
I still dont remember which mobile model it was but it was an android .
Whereas i just dont know ,y nokia didnt do with its own os which as stable as rock and still improving.
Point is that, even today people ask to the shopkeeper (admist so many cellphones) "state some feature?" . The seller starts to tell 1 by 1 feature of his phone, but as soon as they say android the buyer keeps the cell in his shopping cart

nobody knows what symbian can do
and i hardly heard a salesman saying "it runs on symbian" till some1 ask him which is the os.

thats something nokia did rude to its own symbian.

i came accross some noobs, they were telling wish i could have adroid.but when u ask them what for? they just dont know y.
i mean to say users who r switching from economy phones to smartfone only knows bout apple android etc and wat bout symbian(do they exist, really)

wake up nok better b late than never, do some symbian centic ads etc

AnonD-44031, 23 May 20125 years from now, we will all be crying because of no more original battery replacements avail... moreWell, maybe just a feature pack here and there, but I don't think they even need to make a "better" Symbian with more pixel resolution display or whatever core because this is good enough.
Hmmm, I have an E51 and it's still working on its first battery, no idea how old it is 'cos I got an used one but probably at least 3-4 years. Before that I had a 5-6 year old Motorola with its original battery, too bad the flex cable died after a few million open/closings. :-) I guess it's a matter of luck, but a little maintenance seems to help. :-) There are still batteries around on eBay, though I got one (not original) for my mother's phone and it lasted half a year. For $3 it was alright, though. Japod seems to have some good reputation, so I hope they'll have something when the time comes. This BV-4D battery is also used in N9, N9 is quite popular in China, Chinese know how to replicate stuff, so... :-)

advice, 23 May 2012after the death of symbian i wish that nokia puts android os in this phone.Very true, Nokia and Android would be the ultimate combination because i'm looking for a reason to buy a Nokia phone again, but Symbian is just too basic and the world has voted along with me which is why Symbian is being killed off, and WP7 is better but only a tiny App selection, but i doubt Nokia will turn to Android so i guess they just gonna keep losing money and market share while less and less people buy their phones.

If you want to see just how bad Symbian FWs used to be just use N95, N73 or maybe more around that time and fill the memory card with hundreds of MP3s, Videos and just any small files really, what i had was all the Apps and Games stored in a folder to install anytime i need and probably had a few thousand little files altogether, then after you've done that just watch how long the battery lasts, sometimes overnight it went from full charge to 1 bar and i've tried the same thing on Android since and has no effect, so there's something about Nokia or Symbian that gets completely messed up when you have too many files on card.

Why? Because Nokia is the only mobile phone company I know that manufactures very durable phones. I had the n73 since the year it was released, and it is still alive and kicking (though I want to cry for this because of no more original battery replacement).

Also with the cancellation of "Symbian Carla", I hope its cancellation will be because the next update will be "Nokia Carla", as it looks like according to the rumors that the future updates will be more of a combination of Symbian+Qt+Meego. Surely you can't call it "QtSymbianMeego Carla". Just hopeful wishing! :)

Yup., The Nokia Pureview 808 is the LAST symbian device flagship nokia gonna make.

So make sure u've got one :-) its the only and last phone which gonna last a full day with a single charge hhhhahahaaaa

And be sure that its camera will be compared with all the upcoming 5yrs phones. it will be the (standard) which all companies will compare their mobile camera's with ;)
