hey guys, i have a prob with my n8. it cant pLay videos with very Low bitrate(44kbps)even if it is 640x360. what shouLd i do?

If it's not the case, hmm, try resseting it or delete some newly installed programs, if their are any. Stll doesn't work? Could be the Simtrey deffect. Hmm, that will be sh7t. As for changing it. Hm, they will never change my device, and to give it to replace the battery, i just won't do it. I have a rule: Once it's opened, will never be the device you bought:). Better sell it and go for something else. Anyway, i did not take the decision yet, but if it goes like this. Then....

What u said is right.. My 5800,N8,N9,701 & 808 provided very good battery backup than anything I used.. Carol I have a issue with my N8.. Nowadays when I boot it with a sim card inserted,it just shuts off once reaching Nokia boot animation.. Without a sim it boots in perfectly and can use the device. What is the reason for this?

I couldnt update with developer p. Anyway, so i was forced to go back to wp8. Anyways, im starting to think of selling it and buy another wp with way more battery. I just can,t stand this. Smartphones this days can be called dumbphones. What can i do with so many things if the only way to use them is to keep my phone pluged to electrical sorce. Just thinking about android....pathetic. If there is no smartphone with good 3 days battery backup, i'll just gice up smartphones. Anyway, since the kill if symbian all i van see is wannabe systems and nothing more.

If not better do it and install 8.1 update.. then u see how the device performs.. Battery backup of windows phone with IPS LCD are higher than those of LED..

Yeah, i kill almost every background app this was the first thing i look in this system to do. Yeah, symbian freaq, what can i say, we need to close everything:)). As for the reset. It was on developers preview, so i needed to reinstall 8 with nokia tool. Now, my phone was already reseted. And everythin in it, is 2 weeks old. Still, nothing i can brag about. I did calibration, but not to much helpfull for me, even worse, it seems is even crappier:))).

Thank You Ziad.. Hi Carol.. My Device was behaving the way u have described on day one.. Now i am getting good battery backup.. what i did is, Turned OFF ( App to run in background ).. By doing this My device started to respond properly.. U try this Friend.. After updating to 8.1 did u reset your device..

Anonymous, 22 Aug 2014flop phone this phone is no longer a smartphone lots of apps been turned down and it can no longer upload photos directly from the gallery! Nokia social app runs like a turtle! There's no way for me to buy windows phone especially from nokia! Their phones are big dumb *ss phones.

I like it cause is secure, verry secure. As for the 1020, i have a question, just to be sure if i take it back or not. Battery, bleah:))). Help, one day for me is heaven so, can you confirm if yours is the same? The only time is not draining like crazy is when i'm not using it. Using it is like this:20% drain per hour when surfing or just zapping through menu and store. More then 30% when playing some useless caregames or something (while my n8 was eating 20%). Camera, meah, drains battery like there is no tomorow. 2% per minute. So, does anyone have the same? Ex. When i started writing here i had 99% now i have 94% in just 5 or 6 minutes. I hate i could not buy 808 but then againg, i would have hated even more if i had so many services stopped. Uh, hate you Microsoft right now. Ps. I already dropped mine, on the councrete:(. Now i have a 500 euros 3 mounths old phone, with scratches and a crappy battery backup.

Congrats bro for your new Nokia Lumia 1020, I'm very happy you got one like me and Carol ;)
About the flash, I think yes, I tried it myself and every time I find that 808 PV was better, it got some fixes after the black update but still has this silly yellow tint when shooting in ambient or white light and I really don't know why
any way, it's better than any LED, period

They are not being true to their promise! Uploading photos in nokia social is crap, i like it better when it's uploaded via nokia 808! It's an app that they removed and they even deleted the photos that's already been uploaded. F! I uploaded more than a thousand of photos!! Lot's of shared moments with family and friends and suddenly they're al gone!!! That's a big crap of nokia and they're loosing customers! They are definitely going down¡ Windows phones are no good, limited features and less apps! I'm moving to sony and samsung!! There's no way for nokia phone sham!! I've learned my lesson and finally realized that nokia has no place on future mobile phones!

i bought this phone almost 2 years ago and i'm still keeping because of its camera. It certainly lags in terms of apps and features compared to android but overall it performs well. Lately i can no longer upload photos directly from the gallery! What's worst is i lost all the photos i've uploaded from the gallery!! The album 808 is no longer available, it can't be viewed anymore! WTF! Nokia discontinued its vital feature and it erase all the photos i've uploaded on my social account!! It extremely disappointed me after all this investment. Crap, i will never ever buy nokia phones anymore! They are going on a wrong direction and leave their customers in vain!! What's good about their phone is its durability and camera and no more!!! This will be my last phone from nokia! They are terrible!!!

I'm Happy by your last Post and I'm more happy that you finally starts to love Lumia and WP after the 8.1 update, it was one of the must awaited updates I've ever desired, about the battery, I bought the Nokia Dc-19 battery bank, helped me a lot specially when shooting tons of photos and videos
I wish we can have our group on Whatsapp all together, Skype and OoVoo so we can have a great time together

Hi Ziad, Carol and all my friends... I got lumia 1020 Singapore variant. Device is good as carol said.. Camera is superb.. But i am sure it is not the one u find in 808.. u should wait for two to three seconds after each shot, which u wont do with ypur 808.. Ziad & Carol, is lumia 1020 xenon is less powerful than 808..
